-Milla. And no, don't stop, don't ever stop. Thank you.
Milla didn't eat, she just sat there starring at the road.
-Are we at the bridge yet? They're not... well. I think they're sick. Rabies or something. The bitten ones get infected. Don't get bitten.
Milla opened the bag and ate quickly.
-Thank you. I didn't have breakfast. And I think it's night soon. Are we there yet? Why are we slowing down, we're not at the bridge.
Milla knew she sounded stupid and incoherent, but she couldn't calm herself down.

"Okay so don't get bitten. Thanks for the update but I think thats common sense." Bandit let off a quiet laugh but stopped as he didn't think Mila was in the mood for humour. "I don't think its Rabies, its too extream for that and the outbrake is happening to sudden.". "I am begining to wonder if getting to the bridge will do us any good. How do we know it's not like this anywhere else?"
"Were stopping to check on my friend Laura, once we see she is okay we will bring her with us a leave as soon as possible. Would like to come and check on her with me or stay here?"

OOC: Midnight, check your grammar and spelling. IC: -Stay where? On the side of the road, are you crazy? I'm coming with you. And in case it's like this everywhere, let's go to the mountains. And hope no animals have gone crazy. No crazy bears or wolves. Although oddly enough I'd be more comfortable with being eaten by wolves. Less creepy. Milla felt the need to faint, so she did just that. The world went black. And when she woke up, the car had stopped.

OOC:// Okay I will try my best but it hasn't been too bad IC:// Once Bandit asked Mila is she wanted to stay she began to go crazy. When Bandit regreted asking the question Mila fainted. Bandit halted the car to a stop to check on her, he realised that she was still breathing and just needed a break he started the car again. Once he got to Lauras street he stopped the car. It was then that Mila woke up. "Are you okay?" Bandit asked. "Sorry for freaking you out back there, we are at Lauras now, are you ready to go inside?"

BLAM! BLAM! Two zombies went down, as Dallas cocked the rifle and quickly hurried on. Not long after he had taken out the dogs, Dallas had been chased by several zombies. He had taken out some, but was starting to run out of ammo "Need more ammo. Where was the gun shop?" Dallas headed towards the nearest munition shop, as a zombie lunged out at him from the darkness of the alley. Dallas swung his rifle to defend himself, before kicking the zombie back and firing a round into its stomach. The zombie groaned, as Dallas took better aim and shot it in the head. The zombie collapsed, as Dallas continued on his journey

Milla woke up, saw that they stopped and smacked the man across his face and yelled:
-You don't stop!
She tried to take the keys from him, but he yelled "No" and ran inside the house.
Milla locked the card doors, regretted it, opened themn up and went to the back of the car. She found a tire iron in the back and got back into the car and locked.
-Stupid, stupid, stupid man.

Bandit moved quickly to into the apartment builiding Laura was living in. 'Man that woman gives one hell of a slap' he tought to himself. As he climbed the stairs to Lauras apartment all he could think was ' What is she isn't okay, what if she is hurt, what will I do then? He got to the top of the stairs and turned into the hall where Lauras apartment is situated. It was then that he seen a woman thing banging on the apartment door next to Lauras. Once this thing seen Bandit she abonded the door she was once banging and ran towards him down the hall. Once the thing came into closer view he recognised the face, it was Laura. Emotion flooded bandit like a sunami. One minute he had a clear head and the next he didn't know what to do. The thing that once was Laura lept into the air, landed on Bandit and knocked him to the ground. Bandit imediatly flung her off, he felt guilty for pushing her because somewhere deep inside him he knew it was Laura. Bandit jumped into the lift and quickly shut the doors before Laura the thing could join him. As lift went downward he could hardly breath he was crying so hard. All he could think of was the loss of his best and only friend. He pictured how he seen her earlier that day and then pictured that thing. 'What happened to her, I could have stopped this, I shouldn't have left her' is all he could think. Once he got to the bottom floor he ran out of the building and up to his car. He was still crying as hard as ever trying to keep it in. He opened the car and sat at the drivers seat. Once he seen Milas worried face he tried his best to pull himself together.

OOC: Can zombies smell living flesh? Will they be able to track us through our scent? OOC: Zombies can use smells to differentiate between a human and zombie. That is why they don't attack each other. Zombies usualy smell terrible and have a characteristic smell, which is how they then know who is a human and who isn't. It's a normal sense of smell though, so they have to be pretty close to be able to tell a difference. That is where their sense of hearing comes in. They will be easily attracted to an area after there is a loud noise (like a gunshot).
As for the time, we aren't really going to worry about it. Just don't do any huge leaps in time (like making it the next day, morning, etc.). I'll handle those shifts if we need them.
Currently it is just after dark on 10/31/2009.
Great posts everyone!
IC: As Sam drove over the ridge that led back into the city, he almost ran the car off of the road when he saw what state Harper’s Valley was in. There were fires everywhere and the entire city was in chaos. He couldn’t see far enough to see if people were leaving town, but he wasn’t sure if he’d even be able to drive very far. Nearly every road was starting to become inaccessible as far as driving was concerned. Abandoned cars littered the streets, as well as debris from damaged buildings and fallen power lines. Police car, ambulance and fire truck lights were illuminating the city streets in every direction, but very few were moving along the roads anymore. Luckily, Sam’s apartment was on the outskirts of town and he was able to drive there without incident. He slammed the Jeep up onto the curb outside the front entrance and jumped out of the car with Amy following close behind. The power was out, making it nearly impossible for Sam to see very much. He pulled his pistol out of its holster and made his way up the five flights of stairs to his floor. There wasn’t a zombie in his path as he reached his apartment door. Sam fished the keys from his pocket and entered his apartment and shut the door behind him. For the first time in an hour, he finally felt safe. He knew that he and Amy couldn’t stay in his apartment forever though, so he grabbed his camping backpack from his closet and filled it with a few extra shirts, more ammo for his pistol and then a few snacks from his kitchen. Afterwards he went and looked out the glass doors that opened up onto his small balcony. The alleyway below was empty, but he saw a few zombies out near the corner, towards the front of the apartment building. He needed to leave now before traveling around the city was impossible. Suddenly, there was a loud bang at the door, causing Sam to jump and turn around, immediately pointing the Beretta at the closed door. Amy started to growl when there was a second bang. “Sam! Are you in there!?” Someone called from outside. Sam frowned and moved to the door. “Who are you?” “It’s Jim Alderson, from down the hall! I saw you come up, please let me in!” Sam hesitated for a minute before reaching for the doorknob. Jim Alderson was an old man in his seventies and had always been a bit unhinged. He had served in the military for nearly forty years and never seemed to have left the battlefield. Sam opened the door and the small old man shuffled inside. “Quick! Close the damn door!” Alderson said, and Sam looked out in the hall and saw at least six zombies making their way towards the door. Sam slammed the door shut and locked it. He turned and didn’t see Alderson anywhere. Surprised, Sam walked further into his apartment and heard a loud bang from his bedroom. He walked in and saw Alderson throwing stuff off Sam’s bed and began tugging on the mattress. “Help me block the door!” Alderson yelled, trying to lift Sam’s mattress. By then, the zombies from outside had found Sam’s door and were beginning to push and bang on it. Sam rushed over and pulled his mattress off the bed, and he and Alderson pushed it in front of his door. Alderson finally seemed to relax slightly and moved away from the door. That was when Sam noticed he was dressed in his full military fatigues, from head to toe. Sam also noticed the two grenades strapped to Alderson’s vest. “Jesus! You’re going to get yourself killed running around with those!” Sam said, stepping back away from the old man. “Just trying to stay prepared, Richards.” Alderson said and moved towards Sam’s kitchen, looking for food and leaving Sam standing there dumbfounded.

-I'm sorry, but we need to get out off here.
Milla swallowed back her fear, so she could ask;
-Are there- Do we need to get anyone e-else? O-otherwise, bridge would be good? It's the only way to get out of here, isn't it?
The stranger started the car without saying a word and drove away.
Milla didn't like the idea of going after more people, but she felt like she ad to ask.
The she thought of all the people who couldn't run. Coma-people, people in wheel-chairs, people in psych wards, prisons...
They needed help too.
-Maybe we should help? Go to the hospital? Psych wards? Prison? In case anyone's left? Okay, maybe not prison.

Gotta get out of here. Can't stay in one place too long Thoughts were running through Dallas' head as he hurried along the streets, constantly looking over his back, thankful he hadn't run into any more zombies. Pulling the map out, Dallas quickly checked it, trying to find his position and the destination that he had marked out. Having found his position and checking his distance to the destination, Dallas folded the map up, then shouldered his .22 rifle, before moving on, stepping across the road, just as a car came towards him. Dallas quickly ran out, waving his arms to signal the car as it got closer. Thankfully, the driver had seen him and was slowing to a stop before him "Thank God!" Dallas cried, "We need to get out of here"

Milla stopped stranger nr1 from reaching to open the door.
-Wait! Pull down the window and talk to him first, make sure he's not a... like them.
Milla still refused to call them zombies.
She looked at stranger nr2. Milla saw that the man had fine features and usually Milla would have blushed from being near someone so pretty, but the exhaustion and fear had taken its toll. He looked as horrible as Milla felt.
He made his way to the side of the car, to talk to stranger nr 1.

OOC:// Sorry for taking so long to post back on this. I havn't been online much and have been really busy but I will be on more often now Sky, why are you calling me "stranger nr1"? I thought I told Milla my name was Bandit, but if I didn't I will soon IC:// The stranger walked around to the driver door in which Bandit was situated. Bandit was not worried about the strange man, the mans movements were steady and human and he was clearly shouting for help, so he should be okay. Once the man was standing at Bandits door Bandit pulled down the window and said "Are you okay?" The stranger was about to reply but Bandit continued with "Hop in the back and we can all talk about it, theres some strange stuff going on and we don't know weither to run or help, and I'm Bandit by the way." The stranger quickly opened the door to the back seat and jumped in. Tag: Milla / Dallas

"Thanks," Dallas said as he got in the back of the car, "The name's Dallas by the way. Here, I've got a map" Dallas took the map out of his pocket and showed it to the occupants "This route here is the way we can take to get out of this place. What do you reckon? Also, I've got a gun, so we'll be fine, I guess, but I'm running low on ammo and need more"

OOC: My bad, I thought you hadn't introduced yourself.
Let's say Milla was too tired to listen.
Btw, I'll be gone until Monday. Might be able to post on Sunday.
IC:
Milla looked at the map.
-We're ten minutes from the bridge. But God knows how it looks out there. There could be more sick people. Maybe getting weapons would be good. I only got knives and in case they're... You know. Z-zombies, and like the ones in the movie we should- we should...
Milla realized they were looking at her. Really looking at her. And listening.
What am I doing? I don't know anything.
-You know. We should get guns, shoot them from... afar. No bitey?

You know. We should get guns, shoot them from... afar. No bitey? "Guns would be our best bet," Dallas said, "Anyone know how to use one? If you don't, that's okay, I'll be able to show you" He gave the map another lookover "Okay, so that bridge is only ten minutes from here, but there might be a whole lot of...zombies as you put it. But we need weapons and the nearest gun shop is only about five minutes from here. We'll head there, load up, then bust our way out of here. Agree?"

Aw, I wish I knew about this sooner. OOC: It's not to late to join! We're still just starting up, so feel free!
IC: Sam was looking outside his balcony door when there was a loud SLAM against his front door. Alderson jumped in the kitchen, dropping the crackers he had found to munch on. “See! They followed me!” The old man stammered, walking over to Sam and clutching one of the old grenades on his vest. “Just calm down.” Sam whispered, un-holstering his weapon. There was another SLAM at his door, followed by a few loud moans of frustration. There had to be at least a half dozen zombies outside his apartment, trying to get inside. He didn’t know how strong they were, but he was sure that door wouldn’t last long with so many banging on it. The mattress that was pressed against it shuddered as another series of bangs threatened the door. “We have to get out of here.” Sam said, turning to Alderson, who shook his head. “We’re five stories up, but if you want to jump off your balcony, then be my guest.” Alderson said, standing up and pacing around the room. He continued clutching the grenades on his vest, which made Sam worry. “Be careful with those! If there’s a way down, we’ll find it.” Sam tried to reassure the old man, but Alderson just shook his head further and continued pacing. Sam ran into his bedroom and looked out his window. This building didn’t have fire escapes, so if they were going to get out, they’d need rope, which Sam didn’t have. Suddenly, a loud CRACK at the front door startled Sam, who ran back into his living room. Part of the door had been broken; it wouldn’t be long before the zombies were in the apartment. Sam pointed his gun at the door as the mattress started to bounce as more zombies pushed against it. “Get behind me!” He said as the rest of the door was broken down and the zombies pushed the mattress down to the floor. Not listening to Sam, Alderson began running towards the zombies and Sam heard a metallic click as the old man pulled the pin off one of his many grenades. His eyes wide, Sam, without thinking, picked Amy up and hurled her behind the couch. He started to jump after her but a loud explosion rocked the entire apartment. The force of the blast sent Sam flying over the couch and out through his balcony door. Glass shattered all around him as he scrambled to grab onto the metal railing, but he missed and started falling the five stories to the ground. * * * Later…Sam woke with a start, forgetting for a second what had happened. Then he remembered. Alderson. Amy. The explosion. He looked around, realizing he had landed in a dumpster in the back alley of his apartment building. He shuffled around and peered out over the top of the dumpster. The alleyway was clear so he hoped up and winced when he landed on the ground. “Dammit.” He cringed, kneeling and holding his left leg. It was already sore. Not good. Realizing he was exposed, he reached for his pistol but then remembered he had been holding it when he had been thrown from his apartment. Panicked, he looked around and luckily found it on the pavement not far from the dumpster. After checking that it was okay to use, he kept it out and pulled his bag off of his shoulder. After taking two painkillers for his leg, he looked back up to his apartment. There was a fire inside, but he didn’t hear or see any movement. He didn’t know what had happened to Amy, but he couldn’t risk going back up. Alderson had carried at least five grenades with him, and the entire building was most likely unstable now. Moving slowly, Sam peered around the corner to look at the front of his building. His eyes widened when he saw his Jeep turned on its side. Another car had crashed into it. Adding to that, the entire street was swarming with the undead and various fires and debris. “Jesus…” He whispered to himself, trailing off. The entire city was done for. Not a survivor in sight. He turned and walked to the end of the alleyway. He needed to stick to backstreets for now as he headed towards the bridge. That was his only hope for getting out of the city alive. Tag: Anyone

OOC: Sorry for any mistakes guys!
IC: Deborah woke up with a sense of unease (she slept the day away to go down and prepair her dojo for the grand opening tomorrow) it was pitch black so she turned on the lights "Time to pack the rest of the car i guess" she had already packed her car with her training gear, the only real thing left to pack was her Gassan Sadatoshi Katana Presented to her by her former dojo's Sensei when she became an instructor, it was her most prized possesion and also why she left it last to pack.
Living soo far out of town was great but the one problem living in the mountain-side was the drive to and from the house and main road it was so steep and rocky but she choose the place because of it's seclusion.
Finally making it to the main road Deb put's on the Death Magnetic album by Metallica and turns it on full volume, after driving for a for a few miniutes and getting closer to town Deb noticed a bright flash in the distance coming from the outskirts of the city and so decided to drive down and see what the problem was, after driving a while Deb had to stop because the road was littered with abandond cars and debries, she got out of her car music still blazing aghast about all of the carnage before her.... "I was only asleep for a little while..." she muttered to herself.
"If experience has taught me anything..." Deb thought to herself "it's to be prepaired", so she grabbed her sword and and attached it to her belt and took some medical supplies from a nearby up-turned ambulance, she then went back to her car and turned it off and locked the doors (never know when you need a working car!)
She jumped up on her car to gain a better vantage point, the building that had exploded was right near her, but the streets were littered with people.... no..... not people.... they seemed different they looked and...well... smelled dead "oh great!" she sighed "of all the places to move i had to choose the place that makes zombies!?, i guess i'll be sticking to the back streets, there has to be a way out of town". At the entrance to the alley (at the back of the exploded building) she spotted a limping figure coming out, she held her sword up at throat height to the figure "Human or Zombie!? Identify yourself now or die!"

Edit: got the tag name wrong! XD
