Are they worth getting? Never really heard of them until today, but they seem quite interesting from the wiki article...

I love them. TOTS has a Fray story that I assume is canon, and TOTV have a Dracula story that's considered canon, so for me, they're mandatory reading.
But canon or not, they're still a good read. Not as good as Season 8 or the Brian Lynch comics, but better than most of the older Buffy/Angel comics.
They're short, but a few really gets to you, specially a few of the TOTS stories. Those have a The Chain quality, since it's easy to feel for the slayers. TOTV also has a entertaining framing story with a surprising ending and a Spike&Dru story.
I think I heard that one story wasn't included in the trade(not the latest Season 8 comic).

They are all canon! all of the Tales of the Slayers/Vampires + they are VERY good, I really like 'Father' from Tales of the Vampires..

Yeah, I bought the Dracula issue last week and that one included "Father" which made me get all emotional for some reason.

Yeah, I bought the Dracula issue last week and that one included "Dad" which made me get all emotional for some reason. The one where Buffy kills a old man's vampire father? That's the sadest one of the tales I remember.

Oh, that was Buffy that killed him?
That didn't look like her at all!

Unless I remember wrong.
She was blonde, right? And made a pun?
It was while since I read it.

I have the TPB of Tales of the Vampires. The story titled 'Father' did not show Buffy killing the dad. It was a brunette girl (at least she looked brunette) who didn't say much of anything except for asking the old man if the vampire she had killed was his son. There was nothing to imply we knew the slayer in question.

Oh.
*re-reading*
Huh, it was in Santa Monica, 2000, and she doesn't look like Buffy.
Not a slayer then. Unless that story wasn't canon.

That story is actually called "Father." (By Jane Espenson).
The last part of the story takes place in 2003, so it was one of the new Slayers that killed him.
The only Tales of the Slayers/Vampires stories that Buffy herself is in are "Antique" and "Broken Bottle of Djinn."

i think tales of the slayers was the first graphic novel i read, and i loved it! i liked the concept of having a quick look into the other slayers lives. ;D i would still have it today, but i left it outside for some reason and it rained and you do the math. rain + book=not so good. i think i'm going to replace it soon.
