i liked it, i really really liked it, and i'd rather say i loved it, but i want to keep a timid optimism on this one. DH is not the new buffy so i've got to keep the slate clean, to quote the pilot, and eventually build up on that my Dollhouse expectation, some Buffyverse-non-related expectations.

I really enjoyed it. I think it will be interesting to watch develop. You can definately see it's going to have a lot of mystery in it, kinda like Lost. I thought Eliza was really great as well.

I loved it! And the hour it was on seemed to go by very quickly, in spite of the fact that there were about five minutes of commercials in the whole episode...if I hadn't known better/had a clock, I might have even thought it was only a half hour long.
I do think that it was sort of lacking Joss' trademark wit, but then again, so was the Firefly pilot.

I loved it. My expectations weren't that high based on what I was reading about the premiere, but I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Like others have said, it keeps you thinking after it is over and it set up a lot of interesting stuff that I can't wait to see paid off.
This probably isn't definite, as Dollhouse is still new and fresh, but this is how I would rank Joss' pilots:
1. Angel - "City of..." 2. Dollhouse - "Ghost" / Firefly - "Serenity" 4. Buffy - "Welcome to the Hellmouth"

Not that great. Wasn't looking forward to it. Didn't exceed any expectations (not that I had any). I don't really like any of the characters and I feel like Echo is a ditz.

First off W O W ! ! ! I loved it it was awesome it was like a film. 50 min was a great time but wny was it 50 min? Eliza did amazing it wa slike she's played Ms.Penn her whole life. Sierra or Cierra was pretty cool from what we saw. On Amy does anyone else think she got those scars from being a past doll? So far the character I like other than Cierra or Echo(Real names Caroline?) is her watcher guy. And lastly the credits are growing on me thank god there aint no lyrics just hums which i kinda liked. Overall IMO 5/5 i can't wait til next week

It was 50 ins because it is part of Fox's new "remote-free viewing" strategy. Fringe is also part of this plan. They are trying to lure viewers in by promising less comercials and ore screen time for a few of their shows. If you notice, at the begining of every comercial break it tells you how long the break is going to last. I thik there were only 3 or 4 breaks. 2 of them were 90 seconds and one was 60. I dont remember if there was a 4th or if it was 60 or 90 seconds.
I think it is awesome. it allows for a more indepth plot with less destractions!

Seconded. I absolutely loved the set up for the series.
As of the moment I've only seen the Dollhouse premiere thrice, and it is still a bit presumptuous to say, but I really do think its Joss' best pilot to date. Personally, I'd rank them:
1. Dollhouse "Ghost" 2. Firefly "Serenity" 3. Buffy "Welcome to the Hellmouth" 4. Angel "City of..."

I went into the episode being cautious because I knew the pilot had a large amount of interference from the folks at Fox, but I was surprised. I thought the episode was solid and did an excellent job introducing the concept as well as the characters. I personally can't wait to learn more about how the Dollhouse finds their actives, and the mysterious guy who had the photo of Echo.
The only thing I think felt off was the lack of clever banter. I am hoping future episodes will have more of the trade mark wit that was in Joss' other series.

i think it's probably one of Joss' best pilots and sets up a pretty high bar for the rest of the series. Probably one of the most intriguing factors of it is not only how flexible Eliza is as an actress but also it really shows Joss' depth for writing, like even when Echo was Miss Penn and "party girl" (did she have a name?) it still felt that he was writing with Eliza's voice in mind although they were several different personalities. Very excited for next week

i loved it! i had pretty high expectations, and it didn't disappoint. plus the whole "less commercials" thing like they're doing with Fringe made me very happy. the pilot kept me interested the whole time and i can't wait to see how the series unfolds.
