DST Spike, Illyria, Angel & Cordelia

Okay, so I started collecting Buffyverse figurines. However, these two are probably the only ones I'm gonna be getting for a long time, as I want to get Angel and Cordelia as well, but with a wedding on the way, they're currently on hold. So here are my only two figurines: Spike and Illyria! Don't mind the mess that is my desk in the background






Turns out Spike is shorter than Illyria, so I have him standing on five comic books and also, he can't hold weapons like Illyria can, but I love them. They're so cool

Aw lol Night Lord you make me laugh ;D the way you are acutally playing with them and posing them is so cool! It makes me want to make all my figures interact..and play out scenes. Hehe.

Lol, well I love them. They're pretty cool figurines. And I have been given permission to get Ange and Cordelia, which is cool lol. And I should give thanks to Thorn. He was the one who told me about the Illyria figurine, so thanks Thorn

That's ok lol, they look cool together, when you ever get the others I think you should get You're Welcome Cordy and season 5 Angel because they go best with your other figs (because Illyria IS REALLY BIG.)

Yeah, indeed she is lol I just won a 'You're Welcome' Cordelia and I'm hoping to win a bid on a season 5 Angel, so they'll look great together

DST's Angel and Illyria's are quite nice, it's such a chame they're so grossly out of scale with MAC's figures.

Post pics of your happy family when you get them! And you can take one without adjusting for height different of Illyria for just one so I can see how big she is? She looks great, I'm thinking of getting her in the future. But I already love the spike I have (MAC non-vampy)

Yeah, I love the Illyria figure, She and 'You're Welcome' Cordelia are my only 2 figure that I still have on display.

They are so cool. Im actually shocked at how good they look. I am assuming that DS were the best manufacters in the Buffy line?

Yeah, I'm guessing they are. I haven't seen much from the MAC company, but those that I have seen, I didn't like the looks of. And these guys are so cool Can't wait for Angel and Cordy

Im not the biggest lover of the DST figures.

I'd been buying the figures since like 1999 when the first wave of MACS came out...which weren't great but the lines got better as they went along...and then DST released a good first few waves of willows and anyas/ taras and darlas/spikes.
And then everything started going down hill...DST figures are grossly out of scale. Their cordys I think are hideous, 'the wish' cordy is balently a drag queen and towers over all the previous mac and dst figures.
You're welcome cordy is really manly as well, but she at least can stand with the DST angel/fred/illyria figures without towering over them.

However, the Fred dst figure is probably the uglyest figure ever made. The face sculpt is great and Iv managed to get good likenesses out of it when I used to customise...but her body is gross and the paint job on her face is pretty dire.

Personally the only DST angel figure I really like is this Illyria one.

They just suddenly seemed in capable of maing womanly bodies after releasing the darla figures...the cordy/fred/buffys/dawn/faiths all are overly long arms and wierd square crotches, no hips etc etc...it just makes me angry after the really nice MAC figures and the good first few waves DST released, however the main reason I think they were good was because they used the old sculpts from MAC. When it came to making their own stuff from scratch it all went way down in quality.

Cordy is the only one who can dual wield swords and twist her waist, while Angel can't hold his sword properly and his legs are spread wide a bit, so he stands kinda funny. Spike is the shortest of the lot. He stands on the Spike vs Dracula TPB next to Angel and on the Fray TPB next to Illyria

They're all really great likenesses. Sucks about Angels bad grip, but Cordy is pretty damn snazzy!

Lol thanks. Angel did have a small rubberband around his hand, but I removed it and then his sword went limp in his hand....I'm gonna stop right there actually
