seriously? how can someone not want more Buffy? for me it's more about the characters and their journey if BtVS was still the same as it used to be, it would of gotten old real quick

Comics are generally shallow or very convoluted. Someone hasn't been watching the Watchmen. Someone hasn't taken the trip to Hell-A. Etc. I read and watched watchmen. It was terrible. I hated everything about it. The Angel comics are all right. Not as good as the show.

I read and watched watchmen. It was terrible. I hated everything about it. That's one opinion. Perhaps the medium isn't for you then. Doesn't change the fact that it's listed as one of the Top 100 books of the century, and the only graphic novel to have that honor, if I'm not mistaken.

Again, all I need to do is concur with Wenxina. But since I'm long-winded and love to ramble, I'll go on. "Watchmen" is one of the best books ever. Alan Moore is a genius in the same way Joss is a genius. Wonderful attention to story and character for sure. Opinion is important in fiction, but sometimes, opinion gets tricky... someone could think that a shitsandwich is the most delicious thing ever, but compared to a glorious steak... it's still just a shitsandwich.

Time's list of the Top 100 Greatest Novels of the 20th Century. And yes, to my knowledge it's the only comic book ("graphic novel") to hold such distinction. Watchmen is one of the best examples of what can be done with the medium. Not liking it is one thing; not appreciating it is another. If you can't find anything to like/appreciate about Watchmen, then that's one of my warning signs that comic books may not be for you. I mean, one whole issue is symmetrical. You just can't freakin' do that in film.

Not as good as the show. Maybe we should get rid of all comics then, not just Season Eight? Seriously, if you don't like them, don't read them, it's that simple.

Joss, please continue. And maybe in 2013 or 2014 you'll do a Buffy/Angel movie with a totally new cast, or complete computer generated old cast.

I love the Buffy comics don't stop making them. The only comics I read are the Buffy and Sonic and plus their spin offs and mini series. I think they are doing a good job with the comics.

Season Eight is my favorite title right now and I want a Season Nine. However, the only drawback is that comics move so slowly! They don't cost as much as TV shows AND it's not even live-action, but it seriously takes 4 years to cover what 8 months of TV can? It's ridiculous and it's my ONLY resentment for the series, not the story itself. The story is phenomenal in my opinion. Hey, now! It's not easy to make a comic! There's so many things to consider like panels (yes, the shape and composition of the panels alone are a pain in the ass), camera angles, color scheme, lettering, etc etc a lot of boring stuff blah blah blah. The fact that the comics come out once every month is amazing to me. :/

Well, in fact, they don't come out every month, allowing artists a month off every so often. But we do get "filler" issues between so the illusion of monthly issues is maintained.

There have been very few breaks. For the most part, Dark Horse has been pretty consistent in the timing of each issue. So far, the only "filler" issue we've gotten in place of an actual issue is the Tales... oneshot. We're due for another one in December. Other than that, all issues have continued the S8 story in one way or another. Aside from Moline's work (which resulted in the longest break thus far between #18 and #19), Jeanty has only been off penciller duties in #5, #10, and #24... he did contribute the bookends to #20.

Very few breaks, yes, Xi. But breaks nonetheless. All breaks have been scheduled beyond the initial one (within the first two arcs, correct?)and Moline's.

Well, Joss said this to Buffy/Angel Magazine when Season Eight started: " Well... I just don't want to be the guy scrambling to hold onto his little empire years later. You want to go out with class... well, I never had that, but some style anyway. Luckily, the book is turning out as good as I could have ever hoped. I don't feel like that guy yet. But if I ever start to, I'm heading for the hills." I don't think we have to worry about Buffy outstaying it's welcome. (The canonical Joss version anyway, I'm sure the franchise will continue forever in some form, be it reboots/adaptations. That's just the nature of fiction, and we should accept it.) The problem with that logic is most people in that position will never feel like they've overplayed their title, even if they have. Season 8 is Buffy past it's prime, but oh well, so was season 7; and season 6 had some huge problems as well. I want to see if Buffy 8 as a whole stacks up against ATF, cause it's not looking so good so far; but maybe 9 will be better.

S6 and S7 didn't reach the heights of S5, but they were still excellent despite their flaws. Season Eight isn't perfect either, but it's still very popular. Dismissing them as "past their prime" is an overly negative slant. I've noticed that when shows come out, people praise them for the first few seasons and then turn on them. It doesn't matter what the show actually does, people just like building stuff up and then tearing it down. If the show doesn't change, then it's getting stale. If it does change, then it's jumped the shark. People are never happy, they just have short attention spans and would rather remember the glory days than enjoy current stories.

Many people just cannot be pleased, but take pleasure in complaint.

Well, I do think there's something to be said for remembering those glory days (the early seasons of Buffy are some of my faves). That being said, I agree that a show should not remain stagnant, never allowed to move forward. Because, as cherished as the glory days are, the scooby gang as perpetual high school students, would get old after a while. Not to mention that such a thing would not be realistic or true to life. As I have said before, the thing I have always loved about Joss Whedon's shows is that he allows for the progression of his characters. I can say that I have enjoyed S8 and previous seasons as much the others.
