Yes, Yes I have been waiting for this month. Xander is just that type of character you can't help, but to love cause he has no powers unlike everybody else. So I guess I feel I can relate to him more. Despite being knock down through high school he grew up being braver than ever and without any supernatural powers. He rocks..

• What do you think about his role so far in S8? - I love everything, but his new love interest which I won't spoil.

Moments: His speech to Dawn, it was one of the few moments where he tells someone about how he feels about his role in the Scoobies.

Episodes or scenes: The Zeppo and I love his dream in Restless the most.

Prefer the high school days, or more mature recent Xander? I like them both, it depends mostly on my mood, sometimes I crave teenager, innoncent, funny Xander, and sometimes I'm in the mood for wiser, quiet Xander.

Who is his ultimate soul mate? Spike! Spike! Spike!

What do you think about his role so far in S8? So far he's great, I like that he gets a lot of focus, big change from S5/S6/S7, but he still doesn't have a huge arc, hopefully it'll change now that Buffy has feelings for him.

I love almost every character in the Buffyverse equally so I didn't know what to pick! o.0

The speedo moment is definitely up there ^_^

Restless as a whole, that scene with Willow at the end of Grave, his speech with Dawn in S7, and many more.

I like both!

Me? Jp, Willow of course! Cordy is also a winner.

What do you think about his role so far in S8?
I like it except for the dating Dawn thing. Blech.

I preferred high school dorky Xander.

What do you think about his role so far in S8?
I'm not sure I'm on board with him and Dawn... it's takes some getting used to.

I agree, Xander gets a bad wrap, especially from younger viewers mostly because I think his early days, with his swaying moods and sometimes arrogant behavior represented a side of a lot of us (especially guys) that we seldom like to admit. We're jealous, we're petty, we don't always fall for the right people but dammit we're human and that's what Xander best represents, a human man. He's got a great heart, loves his friends and ultimately wants to do the right thing. A lot of bad things happened to the Scoobies over the years that deeply, visibly changed them and while he was still the sarcastic quipper, a more quiet transformation happened with Xander as the series progressed. While his jokes were still present, he was also quieter, more introspective and truly did see a lot more about what was going on then anyone else ever seemed to.

Xander also boasted a strange ability to build varied strengths of relationships with almost all of the characters that passed through Scooby-territory over the years. This started with his complex and different relationships with Buffy and Willow. This was present in his romantic relationships with Anya and Cordelia but also in the little friendships that never got much attention over the years. His bonds with Oz, Giles, Riley, Tara, Dawn (of course that's developed as well), hell even Andrew were all well written and perfectly realized friendships.

He's as strong a character as any of the core four for the exact same reasons as them. His flaws are focused on nearly as much as his shining qualities. While he may not have killed like Willow or Giles, his ugly side did surface from time to time. Ultimately, he's probably my favourite and most fascinating (to me anyways) character on the series (on Angel on the other hand, that's harder to pin down) and a lot of that has to do with his layers as well as his loyalty.

In Empty Places, his scene with Willow in the hospital almost always gets to me.

Episodes:

The Zeppo (obviously), Grave, Potential, Beer Bad (his role in the episode elevates it far higher than the rest of the awfulness), The Body (The "Friends" act is so powerful and surprising, being that the episode's primary emotion should come from Buffy), Prophecy Girl, Dirty Girls, Lover's Walk... hell a giant chunk of the episodes have really strong Xander moments in them.

Which Xander? I like watching the progression so I don't have a favourite.

In Season 8? His role as Buffy's confidant is always good, but aside from his brief panels of grief over Renee's death he has had very very little development this season and ends up being a bouncing board for Buffy's complaints more than anything. Him and Dawn makes a lot of sense to me so I can't really fault them for that, though showing a little depth there wouldn't hurt.

Xander is definitely in my top 5 fave characters of the whedonverse (I even named my dog after him, a black pug)! I have so many favorite Xander moments and quotes. A few fave moments coming to mind right now are:

- His words to Dawn in "Potential."
- Saving Willow at the end of S6.
- His words to Buffy in the S4 opener, "The Freshman" (thought it was so sweet and it perfectly summed up the way I feel about Buffy, too).
- Doing the snoopy dance for Willow in S5.
- All the moments he has been there for Dawn in S8, including the time he had all her clothes turned giant-sized so she could wear them - such a sweet gesture!
- Walking in on Buffy and Satsu in "Wolves at the Gate." - I love his reaction, priceless!
- The Xander speedo moment, who could forget that?!

I also happen to LOVE the comic development of Xander as well, and hope that he continues to grow and change as naturally as he has throughout the story.
  
• Who is his ultimate soul mate?-I think Xander has yet to find his soul mate.
  
• What do you think about his role so far in S8?-I love it, I think he makes a great leader and watcher for the slayer army, and his friendships with the other scoobies is changed, but still important. I do NOT however, think he should be messing around with Dawn, but whatev, I'll let it slide for a little while. Xander has always been my favorite character, and I feel that S8 is his time to shine more than ever.

* What do you think about his role so far in S8? - Hm. I've enjoyed him in Season 8 but he hasn't really had much of a storyline himself. There was his romance with Renee and now his romance with Dawn but he hasn't really done anything relevent to the overall storyline yet, I don't think. I do like what Joss has decided to do with him, I just wish he had something of a more central role.

What do you think about his role so far in S8? Love it. Something to be desired in his page time since WATG, but I love that he's in charge. I also like that Buffy is in love with him, and he's interested in someone else. Role reversals are fun. The Dawn thing is too much for me to take, but I'm rolling with it. I know they won't be together long, so I try not to let it bother me.
