What if J.J. Abrams were to do a reboot of Buffy, i know i know, its not joss, but at least its not those other people who's names shall not be spoken, yet it seems as if all of the cast is ether to busy or aged to much to do any live action work on buffy, have him restart it. He personally would probably want to do the origin story, (id rather him just spend like 30 mins in LA and then her move to sunnydale, or something like that, but whatever). But it would def be worth watching, he's a very clever man and would add a very interesting insight to the character.
But what do yall think"?

Very clever man indeed, but he's no Joss. Unless Joss were somehow involved, then I'm not really interested. In my opinion, the only man who should be doing anything with Buffy is Joss himself. It's his creation, so it's just really hard for me to fathom someone else taking the reins. Nothing else could compare to Joss's genius when it comes to his universe.

Yeah, I agree with buffyfan21. JJ Abrams is quite clever, but Joss is the person who built Buffy and he has a specific vision for Buffy that no other writer could replace.

Hell, I would love for a J.J. reboot (not remake) a new show...

Abrams is pretty friggin awesome at everything he does but I'd only back up a Buffy reboot if Joss was overseeing it.

I'm fine with anyone doing a Bufy re-imagining/reboot/remake as long as they have watched the original show, loved it, and are inspired to make a sequel. I love Joss, and always think he will have made it best, cause he's the original, but I'm certainly not against a fan of the show reimagining the series in some form.
That being said, I generally like Abrams work, although I find he sometimes neglects character/plot development for awesome action scenes. So I would hope that if he worked on the project he would pay a lot of attention to those details, cause the characters are probably what made me love Buffy so much.

I agree that Abrams is a very clever man but a character like Buffy ahs almost as many complexities as a real human and therefore the only personw ho can truly bring her to life on the screen is the man who created her- Joss I'd probably watch it but I wouldn't enjoy it, it wouldn't be the same

JJ abrams is pretty much one of my heroes....... but regardless of who the reboot involved, without Joss, i'm not interested.

I think Abrams could do a great job, but right now I'm not really looking for a Buffy reboot at all.

I agree that he could do a good job and I'd see it, but I'd want Buffy. I would want Joss to do it though because then I can know it will be great and not worry about it until its released.

One thing to add: Felicity for life! I love that show so much! Another Felicity fan! YES!! I'd definitely say that J.J. Abrams and Joss Whedon are the television icons and heroes of my generation, but if J.J. did a remake or a reboot, I would find myself saying, "that's not what Joss would do," which would totally take the joy out of watching. I wouldn't want to compare. I do think they should totally work together on a project. That would be so golden.
