UPDATE: I've renamed this thread because the topic (TVGuide.com and buffy) is related to the the posts below. I've posted new information in the 5th post of the thread.
So I was listening to the latest podcast on TVguide this weekend, and they were talking about the possibility of Veronica Mars continuing in comic book form. Which led to the discussion of the Buffy comics. (By the way if you want to listen it starts at the 5:50 mark)
One of the podcasters, Angel Cohn, said she had been reading them and actually loved them. She said reading them feels just like watching a Buffy episode.
Which prompted Michael Ausiello to ask Angel how the comic books were doing. She didn't know and they told her to find out. She asked the viewers(err...listeners) to find out for her and send her an email to let her know.
Anyways, i would send a message but I thought maybe it would be better if someone who knew more about this sort of thing could. I don't normally read comic books so its hard for me to really describe how it is doing. If nobody else is interested in doing this I can look into it, but if somebody wants to, the email address to send the response to is podcast@tvguide.com
eta: Also you could probably also mention this forum in the email as a place to go to find out more information. If you guys are looking for some free advertising.

CowboyGuy pmd me about this a week ago. I sent an email to them and smoothly mentioned the forum.
I heard that you guys wanted to know how Season Eight of Buffy was doing in comic book form... it is so cool! It's like the characters are alive again, and Joss came up with an amazing story line for the first arc! I'm not sure if you want spoilers or not, but I have to tell you, Joss Whedon is onto something BIG! Of course Joss didn't get this going alone. Jo Chen, the cover artist, shows talent beyond imagination. While the covers for issue one and two were stunning, she still was able to increase the love for the new comics with Willow's cover on issue three! And Georges Jeanty, the interior penciller, has done some amazing work as well. I was thrilled to see that my absolute FAVORITE Buffy Forum, SlayAlive.com, had letters sent to them by both artists.
One of the things Joss has been very good at so far is bringing another character into the fold at the end of some issues. At the end of issue one, it was revealed that Amy, and an unknown partner, had lived in the pit that is Sunnydale for the entire year after it was destroyed. At the end of issue two, Willow showed up, ready to kick Amy's magic butt! And at the end of issue three, it was revealed that Amy's partner was Warren, who remains skinless to this day.
I know a lot of Buffy fans were annoyed as they awaited any news on a Buffy spin-off or movie, but I actually am comfortable with the way the show is continuing, and how the characters have developed (even if that means becoming a Giant!).
Sincerely,
Tim

So, I just now noticed that there were replies to this. I need to bookmark stuff.
Thanks buffysmglover and mikey for sending emails. I ended up replying as well.
I don't know if anybody listened to the podcast that week, but apparently they got slammed with emails by Buffy fans letting them know how the comic was doing. I wonder if it let them realize what a big Buffy fan base they have on their website. They have an article on the site today about the upcoming faith arc and they linked to it on the front page...picture and everything. I'm not that surprised that they did a story on the comic, but I am that it got on the front web page. It's also got an extra preview page we haven't seen before (or at least I hadn't.)
It already has 20 replies, so it's getting good traffic, and I posted a link to slayalive.com in the comments section.
By the way, thanks to Bennyboi posting about it in the first place in the Season 8 - No Future For You: Part 1 topic. Discussion for the new page is taking place over there.

It's on the front of TVGuide.com? Wow! It must be a big success then! It's not even on TV and it gets this much publicity. Fantastic!

June 22nd. If you listen to the one the week before (June 15th) Angel Cohen talks about the comic (she's reading them) and how much she likes it.
But don't expect a huge discussion on the June 22nd podcast. They bring it up and Angel seems a bit flustered with all the emails she received...they didn't cover it for long.
