I went to a Wickerman two years ago. It was really amazing awesome fun, except for the sleeping and the portaloos. My nephew left our tent OPEN and it rained a lot, so everything was wet and cold. I dished out 15 quid for a blanket so I had something warm.

My city is all about the music festivals. There's one coming up in early May that mostly shows local talent, but this year's headliner is Matt & Kim. So that's pretty exciting. I can't say I know any song other than Daylight though.
Then in August there's musikfest. For the most part it's free, but certain venues require a ticket to get in. Nora Jones will be there, but tickets start at $25, and that's either standing or lawn-chair-from-home seating. Maybe I'll scrounge up some ticket money though. We'll see.

Wickerman is somewhere in Scotland, about a 2 hours drive from Edinburgh. I didn't really ask, lol. According to the site it's near Kirkcudbright. It's a small festival in comparison to T in The Park and stuff, but I think that's better. I always hear horrible stories about T in The Park and how it takes about 20 minutes to walk to the arena area and you're always walking through mud. Festivals like that just aren't my cup o' tea. Wickerman is just the right size, IMO.
Hints and tips? Don't leave your tent open! And try to get their as early as possible so you can set up camp near the arena (but not too close because it can be noisy as hell) and the toilets. That's all I got.
Elenasaur, your city sounds awesome. And Matt & Kim! I'd go just to see them perform Daylight, and if they didn't I'd throw rocks at the stage because their other songs are mediocre in comparison.

I have never been to a festival and am not sure I would like it. I don't like sleeping outside or being cold and wet, and there is nowhere to plug my hair straighteners in! As I always say to my friends, do these heels look like I enjoy walking and camping? My boyfriend and my best friend may go to Sonisphere again this year for the weekend. They went together last year and had a really good time. My best friend loves festivals, she goes to everything she can every year. Maybe one day I will leave the heels at home and give it a go...you can get pink sparkly wellies right?
