Holy, shiz! Her hometown is Birmingham, Alabama? YIKES! That's like the worst place in the whole country for...well, anything not straight, white, or Christian >.< It makes me all the more impressed that she continued to play the role of Tara even after she found out she was a witch/lesbian. I think it would have been really adorable if she had an accent on the show, though (did she ever even have one in real life?. I really enjoyed this interview! You get karma when I can give some again

Holy, shiz! Her hometown is Birmingham, Alabama? YIKES! That's like the worst place in the whole country for...well, anything not straight, white, or Christian I doubt that. As for being the worst place in the country for anyone non-white, that would be strange considering the city is about 75% black. And with the religion and sexuality questions, remember that Birmingham is Alabama's largest city, and that larger cities, in general, tend to be better places for people of minority sexual orientations and viewpoints. There are a number of gay-friendly churches in Birmingham, there's a Birmingham Atheists Meetup, and so on. The tendencies of a state as a whole aren't necessarily applicable to all of its cities.

There are a number of gay-friendly churches in Birmingham, there's a Birmingham Atheists Meetup, and so on. The tendencies of a state as a whole aren't necessarily applicable to all of its cities. While I was visiting, I felt/saw none of what you described. Except the many Black people (but just because the majority of a place is Black, doesn't mean the place is in Black people's favor). For instance the city I currently live in is mostly Black and Latino, but the treatment they're given in this city is not-so-nice. Hell, the entire state of California is mostly Latino and they're treated like crap here a lot of time. And I live in an area that's stereotypically liberal. But I guess in the case of Birmingham was just my crappy experience. And I never said the whole state of Alabama was bad. Just Birmingham, which in my experience, was. So I change my statement to, "From my experience, Birmingham was lamey lame." Lol.
