So, after looking through the threads on here, I found there are no nods to shows that have been off the air for several (several) years. So, I thought instead of making a thread for all my favorite oldies, I would create one where we could reminisce about our favorite shows over the years. Shows that may be completely off the air or possibly still in syndication. Shows we couldn't get enough of as a child, adolescent, teen, etc. So, now is your chance to share your guilty pleasures from childhood.
I'll start . . .
One of my favorite shows growing up was MacGyver. I couldn't get enough of Richard Dean Anderson and his crafty ways on the show. I remember tuning in every week (and then watching the reruns every day) just to get my fix. I thought he was so creative and smart (and cute).
And does anyone remember the cartoon Voltron? It was my absolute favorite cartoon as a child. But sadly, not a lot of people remember it. I consider it the pre-cursor to the Power Rangers (and a far better version).
The A Team and Quantum Leap were some other favorites of mine.
Okay, your turn. Share your favorite shows from the Ghost of Television Past. . .

Good thread idea. Here are the shows I remember (besides BtVS) from my kid/teen years that I watched any chance I could. Looney Tunes: Loved these as a kid and now as an adult. These cartoons are my all time favorite cartoons ever. I have four of the Gold Collection and I'm going to be getting the rest in the future. I will never stop loving these. Every time I watch I'm 100% entertained and it doesn't matter if I've seen the episode 200 times before. Sailor Moon: I loved this cartoon. When I was 10-12 I watched the American version and then when I found out there was a Japanese version I borrowed those DVD's and I loved it more. I was frequently irritated with the American version though because there would be changed/cut stories and sometimes it didn't make complete sense. But every morning I would wake up at 6 a.m. just to watch it. Mighty Max: Anybody remember this one? It's another cartoon that I loved. It's about a kid who gets this cap and is told he's the "Chosen One" and has to battle the forces of evil...hmm, I wonder where I heard that before? Anyway he has his two helpers/friends Virgil a talking bird/fowl and Norman his guardian Viking. I wish there were DVD's of this one but so far I haven't been able to find any. It was only on for two seasons but everyone in my family liked/loved the show. Step by Step: A favorite growing up. This featured two of the first ships I'd ever gotten behind. Cody/Dana and Rich/Dana. I loved them both and again I wish they would put this show on DVD. There are a few more that I watched growing up Perry Mason, Matlock, and Hawaii 5-0 which I watched all the time with Mom and Papou. Also watched Family Matters (which finally put out season 1 on DVD), Boy Meets World, Miami Vice, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Full House, Law & Order, and Unsolved Mysteries

My favourite was easily DragonBall Z. I loved watching it in the morning before school if I could, but I was rarely ever allowed to. Just started buying the seasons (I've got 1-4 so far) and I love it, watching it all over again and all the episodes I've missed

I know what you mean. I was so excited when I walked into a Best Buy one day and saw Voltron was now available on DVD. I bought all five of the original seasons and then made my son watch them. He loves the show now.

Thought of a few others, I also realized how many cartoons I used to watch and sometimes still watch. Beetle Juice - This show was fun, I saw it before I saw the movie, I loved the friendship between Lydia and Beetle Juice. Gargoyles - Another cartoon I watched in the morning. Such a cool show, it made me want a gargoyle of my own. X-Men - This was my first introduction to the X-Men universe. Rogue, Gambit, and Wolverine were my favorite characters and they still are to this day. This was also when I started my Jean hate. Even at 7 or 8 I didn't like the character, now as an adult I know why I don't like her but I don't know why I did back then. Unsolved Mysteries - Tuned into this show every chance I could. Robert Stack was so good as the narrator. I watch the new one with Dennis Farina sometimes but for me it's not as good as the original. The Carol Burnett Show - Such a funny show. When I was 14-17 they had the show (on syndication) during dinner (around 6:30/7:00 p.m.) so the family and I would watch it while we ate. One of my favorite skits they did was Ms. Wiggins.

Looney Tunes for me too. I was always partial to the Wiley Coyote & Road Runner ones. Also was a big Bugs Bunny fan.
I also loved Unsolved Mysteries too, I remember watching that a lot when I was younger.

Oh, yeah. I was all about Unsolved Mysteries too. I loved that show.
As for Looney Tunes, I was more a Speedy Gonzalez fan. He was the fastest mouse in all Mexico, you know.
And I completely forgot about the Beetle Juice cartoon show. I remember seeing a few episodes here and there.
And I can't believe I forgot about Scooby Doo. That was my all time favorite cartoon when I was little. I know it still comes on, and they are making new episodes. But you can't beat the originals. They were the best, even though they were reruns when I saw them.
And He Man and Ninja Turtles. The original cartoons of each. Not the remake they tried to do a few years ago. I had all the action figures, which I think broke my mom's heart because she really wanted me to play with dolls and Barbies, but I couldn't stand those.
Man, I can't believe all these cartoons slipped my mind before.

Oh! Great thread idea ;D I have so many! Let's see-- I was a big fan of the TGIF lineup. So that included Full House, Step by Step, and Perfect Strangers. Golden Girls was another of my favorite shows. I have all the seasons and I like re-watching it because it reminds me of spending time with my grandma. She loved this show too. Nothing beats GG and hot soup when I'm sick and and am in couch potato mode. Of the cartoons, like Jezebel, I also loved X-Men, and Mighty Max (great picks!). Storm was my favorite. Mighty Max was awesome too. I had one of those Mighty Max Polly Pocket things, and I liked it so much more than the line they had for girls. Batman: The Animated Series was another one I loved. I really liked the noir-like atmosphere of the images. I really wanna get this on DVD. Oh! And the old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Good call, M.U.M!). How could I forget that one?!? The theme song would get stuck in my head for days. More recently, I would say Dark Angel is a show I LOVED and was so disappointed when it was cancelled. They ended on a "what if" note, but it had such great potential for a 3rd season. Jensen Ackles is in it, for those Supernatural fans out there. Felicity is another show I loved. I was always rooting for Felicity and Noel but eventually warmed up to Felicity/Ben. I thought college was really the way they portrayed it in this show. I will still quote the people in this show to this day. Ah, memories

I can't believe I forgot about Perfect Strangers. I loved that show as a kid. That was when TGIF was the best thing to watch on a Friday night, with Full House, Perfect Strangers, Family Matters, and the other show has slipped my mind. But that was our Friday night ritual.
And I feel ashamed of myself for forgetting Dark Angel. And I watched bits and pieces of Felicity too, but never did get a chance to watch the whole series. I'm just glad I can still catch episodes of Gilmore Girls in syndication. Another I just remembered.
Karma for reminding me of great shows.

I can't believe I forgot Scooby Doo, I was obsessed with that.
Gilmore Girls is another good one. Although I absolutely hate the ending, it wasn't fitting for the show.
I always enjoyed watching the Wild Thornberrys when I was younger, that was one of my favorites.

Looney Tunes for me too. I was always partial to the Wiley Coyote & Road Runner ones. Also was a big Bugs Bunny fan. BB was my favorite. I even have a BB stuffed animal somewhere in my closet. Also like Daffy Duck, poor Daffy always got the short end of the stick, Tweety, Sylvester, and Yosemiti Sam. I forgot about Scooby Doo too. Such a great show. I don't know about anyone else but I hated Scrappy Doo. Oh and Dark Angel, I didn't watch it when it was on the air but I got the DVD's a couple years after they came out. This show gave me my crush on Jensen Ackles.

I hated Scrappy Doo as well. You're not alone on that. Scooby was my favorite character, and of course Shaggy.

I hated Scrappy Doo as well. You're not alone on that. Scooby was my favorite character, and of course Shaggy. Scrappy is pretty universally hated. Why do you think they made him the villian in the Scooby Doo movie?

Scrappy Doo was universally hated?? I never knew that. Could never understand why he was the villian in the movie. The movie was good fun to watch, especially for Buffy...er I mean Daphne...
I forgot all about X-Men! Another cartoon I liked watching, although, it did scare me a lil, probably cuz of the Sentinels and Sabretooth and at times, it seemed a little adult, I guess. That was when I fell in love (er...) with Wolverine and he's remained my favourite X-Man to this day

I used to love a show called Round the Twist when I was younger, about a family who lived in a lighthouse and weird things happened to them.
My favourite cartoon is Stopit and Tidyup, and I would love for them to make more of them.
Original Moomins (stop motion) were fantastically freaky and great.
My So Called Life, Vicar of Dibley, The Young Ones, Bottom, Red Dwarf, there are just so many shows I miss.....

I'm right there with you, Jezebel Jinx, on the Jensen Ackles crush. The man is gorgeous!!!! With a Capital "G." He was the main reason I started watching Supernatural. Now I just really like the show, but in the beginning it was for him.
And yes, I never cared for Scrappy Doo either. He was a little brat.
And yes Dad, I didn't really care for the ending of Gilmore Girls either. I wished they had come back later and made a wrap up movie or something to tie together all the loose ends or something.
