"I need you to fight" Angel mumbled in his sleep.
"Im pretty clear on what you need, now go to hell Dad!" Connor spat as he raised his stake high in the air.
Faith darted down the stairs but not quick enough. The four seconds it took for her to reach Connor, was four seconds she would never be able to get back, as Connor jammed the stake deep into Angel's heart, everything seemed to go in slow motion.
"No!" Faith cried, knocking Connor off Angel, but ti didn't make a difference, Angel's eyes went wide and within momments he was nothing more than a pile of dust.
"Faith, please allow me to explain you don't understand he-" Connor stopped talking as Faith clamped her hand around his throat and slammed him into the cage bars.
"I don't want to understand!" She yelled. "You killed him, you son of a bitch!, now im going to do the same to you" tears started to trickle down her cheek as she tossed the boy across the room. Connor jumped to his feet and charged at her, but she dodged him, then kicked him in the back as he went past her. Connor landed with a thud.
Everything Faith had been working for during her time in prison disapeared. The self control, everything went black to her as she was consume by the blind rage and hatred to kill Connor. Faith clenched her fists and sent them flying into Connor's face, his head smacked off one of the bars and he fell to the floor. Faith didn't give him chance to recover, she climbed ontop of him and repeatedly slammed her fists into his face, cursing him as she did it.
Wesley rushed down the stairs to find otu what was going on. "Faith!" He shouted as he tried to pull the slayer off Connor, Faith didn't budge, she simply elbowed Wesley in the face and carried on beating Connor to a pulp. A arc of blood sprayed from Connor's nose into her face, but that still didn't make her stop.
"Gunn!" Wesley screamed, Gunn ran down the stairs, his face horrified at the site of Faith constantly sending hard and fast blows into Connor. Wesley and Gunn gripped her by the arms and dragged her off him. Faith tried to lash out but all the anger was fading and leaving her with a big black hole in the pit of her stomach. Gunn grabbed her legs as she continued to writhe, but the slayer was loosing strength.
"Faith, you have to calm down!" Gunn ordered. Faith's face went pale, as she glared at the badly beaten boy, lying next to the pile of dust that was once Angel.
"Can we get some help in here!" Wesley shouted upstairs. Fred, Willow and Lorne all came down into the basement. Lorne ran over to Wesley to check on Connor. Willow spoke quietly to Gunn as she told him to help Wesley, then she crouched down next to Faith, was now staring at her bloodstained hands.
"I'll kill him" She mumbled.
"What happened?, Where's Angel?, Did my spell work?" Willow was full of questions but Faith only said two words to her, before bursting into tears.
"Over there" She pointed as the pile of dust next to Connor. "I couldn't save him Willow, that was the last thing he wanted, he wanted me to get up and fight and save him" She trailed off, turning her attentions to the dust pile.
"Oh my God" Willow said, looking more shocked than Faith.
"Bring him back Will, please" Faith begged, clutching onto Willow's shirt. Willow's eyes started to well up with tears as she rubbed a hand up and down Faith's back.
"I can't, he died of natural causes, or as natural as a vampires death can be" Willow said.
"Please Willow, you have to think of something" Faith croaked. Willow shook her head in response.
Faith sobbed as she tore up the stairs, the rage had come back, she angrily smashed open the weapons cabinet and drew out a short sword, she ran a finger down the blade, before storming back downstairs. Nobody could stop her, not even Willow. Faith threw Wesley, Gunn and Lorne effortlessly out of the cage then locked the door shut. Connor was waking back up again.
"Is this what you need!" She growled, showing him the knife.
"He was a animal!, he deserved to die!" Connor spat.
"Then so do you!" Faith spat back, as she stabbed Connor in the heart. He made a vile choking noise as she twisted the blade and pushed it deeper inside of him. Blood trickled from his mouth and his eyes went wide. Faith pulled him closer to her and twisted the knife again. Connor choked one last time as she whispered into his ear. "Who told you to kill him!"
"Cor-Cordy" Connor gasped, then he died. Faith pulled the knife out of him then dropped it to the floor. Everybody was just staring in disbelief at her, Faith looked up at them all, her gaze was chilling, then she sank to the floor and the tears came back again.
"Can you all just leave me alone for a few?" She asked, as she picked up the dust pile that was Angel.
Wesley nodded, the ushered the rest of the gang back up the stairs. Faith rummaged through her pockets until she found a small tin of lip balm. She took the cap off and found it was empty. Then she scooped what she could of the dust pile up, and placed it into the tin.
