Has it been confirmed or even talked about how many more seasons of Buffy we can look forward too? Is this supposed to be the last season? Or are they just going to keep continuing it until they finally end it?
Also, new to the forum. :sprint:

Welcome to the forum XD
Well its been said that theres going to be a season 9. But this season wont be ending till around 2010. So i think they will just end it when they feel its time to end it. It could go on for 3 more seasons. Now its in comic form anything could happen.

VDS is right. Scott Allie told me Joss had plans for Season Nine. And I think I was the first person to get anything about a Season Nine on the web, so yay me!

I hope for one more season after Season 9, cause 10 seasons would be cool. And then one BIG MEGA movie to wrap everything up. I can dream.

Yeah I guess going to 10 seasons would be the best thing to do IMO. I just hope it doesn't get stale and they can't think of anymore original ideas. Though with Joss and the rest of the gang, that might NEVER happen.

Yes yes! A movie would be great! But I would say it end up being animated due to the fact actors not wanting to come back and do it. But I think it would still be great! Angel and his Avengers would HAVE to be in it as well.

a direct to dvd animated buffy movie as a finale would be KICKARSE!
if they could get most (or all) of the main cast back for voices, that'd be so cool...

Hmm, if Twilight is really aiming for a world without magic, shouldn't season 8 be the final season of Buffy? I would not want the Scoobies to defeat Twilight it that means that they still have to solve the events of Fray. But I'm sure Joss already knows how his story ends if they're really going for another season. And cheungcheung, I'd love an animated Buffy movie! It's such a shame that the animated series didn't work out ...

I don't get the point of a season nine, its in a comic form why does it need season in the title?

Because it's still Buffy the Vampire Slayer the series. Only, like you said, in comic form. They can't just keep continuing it, without classifying the seasons, its already a bit confusing because Season 8 takes place 2 years ago.

I for one hope it goes for as long as possible. I have something to look forward to every month and its always awesome. I'm so glad Buffy's back. And with Joss at the helm I don't think it will ever get stale.
Buffy animated movie=awesomeness. Thanks for posting that picture CheungCheung. Was that from the animated series?

I would like season eight to go for 45 issues, end in early 2011. Then have season nine start and go for the same amount. That would be amazing.

I think in time they could end up bringing back the Buffy Animated series based on Season one. That would be pretty darn mega. I don't think they could end Buffy with a Movie now. Not all the fans like the comics or read them so if it was made into a movie then people could be getting confused. Plus how can you really end a show by a movie you need at lest a full series's to end a show brilliantly. A movie would be too sort. :\

The Animated series did look cool. Although what's Dawn doing in it? bleh.. find it hard liking her character.

Joss says Season 8 should only go on for 20-30 issues. I would be okay if it were shorter than 40/45 if they decided to do a ninth season.
I for one think it would be cool if they ended Buffy with a movie... the comics are canon whether some fans like it or not. Go out with a bang, and a Hollywood budget!

The original estimate of the series was 20-30 at the beginning, but it's steadily gone up to around 50 as more writers signed on. According to Wikipedia (so take this with a heaping pile of grains of salt) "series editor Scott Allie has confirmed they are already "up to about 50, could go a little higher".
