With the news of Angel's eventual transfer back to Darkhorse and with only 8 issues of the ongoing story and an estimated end date of April 2011 (assuming there are no breaks), I figured now, and until the eventual relaunch would be a good excuse for reminising about Everyone's favorite things about the various Angel IDW book's be it main story, mini series, oneshot, or whatever the case may be.
Anytime in life when a great change happens, people often use their memories and past experiences to help shape the next step. We saw this with Buffy Season eight, taking all that had happened during the TV series to create the next stage in Buffy's story. It would never be the same, nor would everyone accept it with open arms, But this was the next step, just as season nine will draw on season eight.
We saw this again with the post Angel series comics but unlike Buffy, Angel as was the Tv show, was given a harder time. Fans have higher expectations knowing not everything happening is done with the expressed consent of Joss Whedon. But that doesn't mean those people working on the Books aren't trying there hardest to put out stories that they want approval for, whether they say so or not. With the end in sight I will say, regardless of Canon, retcons, or what happens in the future, the people at IDW did far better with the Angelverse than was expected and I think Angel's time there will help shape, if nothing else, our views of him from here on out.
As for my favorite moment in his time there its hard to bunch it into any one thing because there are so many but one I'll never stop loving is the sequence in ATF issue 16 where the Team walks across the panel in a line, "Cue the music" style. That should have been on TV.

After the Fall was epic. Only Human was awesome.
Oh, and one more thing?
DRUSILLA.

I really loved After the Fall and enjoyed Only Human. The previous mini series like The Curse, Old Friends, Asylum, Shadow Puppets and Auld Lang Syn were also quite enjoyable

There was a time i considered Curse,Auld lang syne, and old friends the canon representation of season six and its stories like those that helped me better understand canon or not doesnt affect the quality of a good story.

I'll always remember: Angel: After the Fall, Spike: After the Fall, Spike: Asylum, Spike: Shadow Puppets, Angel Special: Lorne, Angel: Only Human, Angel: Become What You Are, Angel: Drusilla, and Angel: Boys and Their Toys. All of the above were fantastic! Here's hoping for some stunning finale(s), like Spike's run, and the final Angel arc. And we also have Illyria: Haunted to look forward to!

Though this is a tribute to Angel's time at IDW I would also like this to extend to SPike aswell. As a member of both verses, Spike himself proves that no matter the situation, Adabtability can be successfully implemented.
With that Spike vs Dracula, Spike Old times, and Spike Lost and found are also quite memorable.

How could I forget about Spike vs Dracula? That was the first ever TPB I had ever purchased! I loved that mini-series

AtF was great. There were times when I liked it more than Buffy. Boys and Their Toys was pretty cool too. Haven't read Only Human but I think I'll check it out sometime. It seems to be one of the more popular ones. I haven't read the work of many of the writers so I can't say much about that but I hope we can get some of the artists over at DH for the Angel stories. Also, best of luck to the IDW Team in their remaining run and their future endeavours...

I really like the pre-AtF comics just as a way of keeping the verse alive. Auld Lang Syne , Spike vs Dracula, Lost and Found and Masks were the best.
But of course After the Fall was on a whole other level. I will always remember the excitement of reading that 1st issue, and my joy at how amazing it was. That continued month after month.
I also loved the historical comics and episode adaptations.
They were good times!
