you guys... i really miss spike i really didnt like him on angel because alot of the time i feel like he forgot about buffy too quickly. it doesnt make sense. he tried so hard to be with her, he got a soul and now hes alive...or uh, dead, again and i feel like he wouldve tried to find her right away. i just hate that the angel characters arent dark horse, i just feel like spike and buffy need to interact. he kept her sane for seasons 6 and 7 and even some of 5. they proved time and time again that she needed him, moreso than angel. and maybe thats because she didnt love him as much; she didnt protect him from as much. but she definetly did love him on some level and i feel like they need to be together again. mayeb not forever, not saying they should end up together, because i think buffy and angel need to be together again at some point too these characters need to at least mention eachother soon, i feel like its unnatural for them to seemingly forget all about eachother

I don't think that Spike forgot about Buffy. He just wasn't ready to see her. In his mind he got killed for her and the world. I kinda see where he is coming from, I mean how do you face a girl after that exit? He never wanted to come back. He said it in "Just Rewards". Plus sure Spike got the soul for Buffy but I also think he did it because he knew it was right. I mean in Los Angeles he could really do some good and he did. Spike's time on Buffy is up. If he came back now well it would make his death less meaningful I guess you could say. Spike is doing good in hellish Los Angeles now. Lets just face it saving the people in L.A. is more important than Buffy. It's the good fight! I think both Spike and Angel have learned that loving Buffy can be the death of them.

Poor Buffy...every relationship she has is used as a jumping off point for her guy to leave her and fight the good fight AWAY from her. That just sucks. Maybe Satsu will go MIA after this too.
In my heart, I want Spike back and Angel back (can't decide which one most) but I know thats very fanfic-ish. Any reunion between Buffy and Angel or Spike feels like it would be the end of the story.

Can't we just have Buffy as the lonely, man-hating, crazy old coot? There are many people out there who are probably using her as a prime example of what happens when a girl gets too much power... She's strong, and not seeing any guy right now, she MUST be a lesbian!!! Beware the gay agenda!!! There was a hint of snark in there somewhere.

To answer the original question, I think Spike's head would spin if he saw what Buffy and the "Scooby Gang" were up to now. If you remember, he always kinda looked down on them for being a ragtag squad of nerds who happen to save the world. As time went on he began to respect them more and more until the very end. So if he popped up now I think he wouldn't know how to deal with it all. Spike always kinda viewed himself as the outsider looking in. If the Magic shop seemed like a place he would never fit into, just imagine a world wide organization run inside of a massive castle. No way would he stick around for all that. But seeing his face could be worth it.
But let me touch on this discussion that is going on about Spike/Angel/Buffy. Keep both relationships in context here. I know some people like Angel-Buffy, some like Spike-Buffy, but don't forget about Angel-Spike. The two of them are brothers. Forever linked in the sire-family tree. Practically related in Blood. They did some of the most horrendous, grisly, disgusting and evil things SIDE BY SIDE. They lived side by side for almost 100 years! Now they BOTH have souls and they are BOTH fighting for redemption. It only makes sense that they would BOTH fall in love with the same girl. It also makes sense that that girl could fall in love with BOTH those men (or vampires). I think Angel and Spike a very different in character, but then again most brothers are. My brother and I are nothing alike, but that doesn't make us any less connected. And I'm not hating how strong their love for her was/is but they only knew Buffy for 6-7 years. Put that up against the hundred or so years that Angel and Spike have lived and will continue to live. So who does Spike belong with. Oddly enough, I would say his brother. Angel. And that is exactly where he is and I, as a huge Spike fan, couldn't be happier.
About the whole 'Joss Hates Spike' argument... This is what James Marsters said in a interview...
"I never really felt that Spike was a character that held Joss's imagination, frankly. He was not designed to be part of that show. In the original concept of the show, vampires were to be killed, they were not to be felt for or liked. When I came around suddenly he had two vampires everyone liked - first he had Angel to contend with, which was not his idea, and then he had Spike. In a way I was in peril with the theme of the show in his eyes. In the back of my mind when the shows [ended], I kind of wondered if he would ever come back to the character. I thought it would be better for him if he didn't deal with that character any more. I never thought he'd get [the movie] off the ground actually, even when he was telling me he was going to get it off the ground."

If Joss hated Spike, I doubt he would have let Spike make sweet sweet love to his precious Buffy. Anyway, there are my two cents...

Personally,I'm glad that Spike and Angel aren't in the season 8 comic at all.Frankly[and yes,I know that I'm in the minority on this]I got tired of the cliche of the Vampire Slayer loving a vampire. It was way overplayed on the show.I could have gotten past it with Angel if he wasn't as useless and pathetic as he was until he lost his soul in S2. Spike was a slightly different situation because I actually liked him.My problem with him was the chip.It had gotten to a point where,no matter what he did,he was viewed as harmless because of the chip.I mean,in season 5 The Crush,he chained Buffy up and told her that he would release Dru if Buffy didn't say that she loved him,yet no-one even considered that perhaps he was a threat even with the chip.I felt that they could have done alot better than that stupid chip.
Personally,I prefer Spike and Angel in After the Fall
