Hey sports fans! And by sports fans, I mean Buffy comics fans! I just wanted to let y'all know I and my fellow mods are planning a big Season 8 extravaganza to be hosted here at SlayAlive for the September 1st release of Last Gleaming Part I. A "Season 8 in Retrospect" event that's going to look back on the highlights of the season and culminate with... The Ultimate Scott Allie Interview This is gonna be spectacular and I mean that literally. A spectacle of positive energy that will seduce you. You will not be able to resist my shimmy shakes, y'all. Be warned. And to be clear, this is a lovefest. LOVE. ♥ ♥ ♥ I've got my positivity back, it is FIERCE, and y'all are gonna be SHOCKED AND APPALLED AND MAYYYYYBE TURNED ON when you see the way I'm spreading the XOXO's. And amidst all the lovin', yes, we'll be sneaking in some thoughtful questions that will make Scott go "ugh, tough, whyyyy, Emmie? Why do you always do this to me?" And the answer is that I love the thinky thoughts. If anyone wants to make a case for a topic they'd maybe like covered in the interview, comment below, but mostly sit back and enjoy the ride 'cause we're here to entertain you.

Are you asking for specific questions, or just general topics to cover?

Not specific questions, no. Just if there's a topic you think won't be covered (something obscure perhaps) but you'd really like to put it up for consideration, go ahead and post.
Basically, you can share something you've been wondering about and if it works, I'll try to fit it in.

I'm ready for the shimmy and the shakes. As for a topic for discussion, I'm sure you've already thought of everything I could ever think of, but if this is appropriate to bring up with Scott/this 'event', maybe an update on the HC's? What will they look like? Contain? Release date? Any deets, etc. This sounds fun! I can't wait for the next arc.

Well, as far as topics that aren't likely to be resolved or addressed in the final arc... the question of Twilight's power has been a mystery to me... not his superpowers, but the way he amassed almost unlimited economic and military power in such a short amount of time. It's pretty amazing considering the Slayers had yet to show that they had any sort of terroristic or aggressive agenda.
As far as season 9 is concerned, I'd like to know how they envision the new format affecting things like story cohesion and the sense of urgency or focus for the over-arching season story.
And finally, has any thought been given to doing a fully animated version of Buffy similar to what we saw with the "Goon" demo reel?

Ahhh yes, the animation question has been on my mind, too. Absolutely. And there'll definitely be some talk about Season 9 in greater detail, I think.
That's a great concrit, thinky thoughts question about Twilight's amassing of power.

There is something that I've been wondering about.
How different would season 8 of been if Dark Horse had had the Angel rights and not IDW?
Joss in that CBR interview when Twilightgate hit mentioned that they masked Angel for IDW's benefit. If Angel was unmasked the whole time though, wouldn't that change a lot of elements of the story?Right off the bat,you lose the mystery aspect of a masked villain and who it could be.Plus wouldn't the story also be a bit different if Buffy knew Angel was doing this stuff from the beginning or we the readers knew while the Scoobies didn't?It just seems to me that the story would of have to of been told in a different way.
Also would we of gotten the Angel season 6 plot lines like we basically did in Angel:After The Fall if Angel had still been at Dark Horse?
Remember that After Fall was made up of story threads that would of been part of Angel season 6.
1)Hell-A 2)Gunn a vampire and the villain 3)Some of the Illyria/Fred stuff 4)Even the resolution with time being turned back to the alley battle was how season 6 was going to end.
Would we have gotten any of this storyline if Angel had been at Dark Horse?
So I'm curious if Scott has any thoughts on this.I don't know if this is a topic worth touching on though.

Hopefully it's ok to come out of lurkdom to post my thoughts. It's a little harder to not ask a specific question though, lol.
For Season 9 are they looking to bring in writer's similar to how they did Season 8. Since the new season seems much more involved then just focusing on a singular arc, I wonder how they'll work with different writers at the same time, sort of touching on what AndrewCrossett mentioned, the cohesion factor.
It would be interesting if Scott expanded on what he's said in that other recent interview about Riley and Sam mirroring Buffy and Angel, with the notion that they're together when they're not. Also the conversation in the dark between Riley and Sam, to me brought up the idea of trust/loyalty in the other. If we're supposed to get mirroring of their relationship to Buffy and Angel it would be good to find out how that plays apart in the current situation Buffy and Angel are in with hiding Twilight's identity and not telling her about what Whistler told Angel.
And I'm interested in finding out more on Willow's line to Angel in Twilight Part 4, where she says "What you got coming you better hope never comes". It just seems like there's more to that statement then just the immediate Twilight identity issue going on.

Please ask if the Dawn/Xander/Buffy triangle will be adressed, in season 8 or 9. I don't think Dawn missed what happened, and probably get that Buffy tried to steal Xander from him (I would have to re-read) and she needs to give Buffy a piece of her mind after this apocalypse-thingy is done.
