Anyone else seen this movie? I just recently bought it, and have watched it numerous times so far! One of the best movies I've seen, IMO. If you haven't seen it yet, go watch it asap. Oh, and while watching I realized this was Fran Kranz's first movie he was in! He had a small role, but still. It was nice to see him in a clown suit. Haha.

It's, like, my favorite movie and it stars my ex-husband. Don't steal it from me.

I love Drew Barrymore's character in this movie. I think she needed more screen time. I think the writer/director needs to do something else in this verse. It's just too awesome, and has so much potential, IMO. Like, a sequel with people remembering what all went down, and dealing with the aftermath of it all... Starring the beautiful Drew Barrymore!! Lol. That would be a dream come true for me.

No one from the first film was involved except for Daveigh Chase, who reprises her role as Donnie's little sister, Samantha Darko. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S._Darko

Yeah, but doesn't it suck? I mean, like, with the original director and writer, and cast.

S. Darko really isn't a good movie at all. I don't remember exactly what I disliked about it but I remember feeling extremely disappointed afterward. I love Donnie Darko though... "He told me to insert the lifeline exercise cards into my anus!" I think that's my favorite quote from that movie.

Donnie Darko is amazing and perhaps one of the best Existentialist movies I've seen. I gain a little more understanding and appreciation for it every time I've watched it.
I haven't gotten brave enough to watch S. Darko yet just because I think a sequel was completely unnecessary and I haven't really heard anything good about it.

Donnie Darko is one of my favourite films, I was obsessed with it for a while. I own both the normal version and the two-disk extended directors cut, along with a copy of the script and the sound-track. I have seen it so many times I've lost track, some days my best friend and I would watch it numerous times within the day.
S. Darko is not as bad a film as I would imagine it to be (my brother bought it for me, I wasn't planning on watching it) given the fact that it was neither written or directed by the creator of Donnie Darko (Sort of how I imagine the fan-film sequel to Serenity will be, same themes but not created by Joss thus nowhere near as good). The film itself could be good if it stood alone, but for the fact that it's trying to be a sequel. Because it's trying to be the sequel it doesn't explain any of the theory behind it and assumes that you will understand it from having seen the first film. Which would have worked had they not got the theory behind it WRONG.

S. Darko is not as bad a film as I would imagine it to be (my brother bought it for me, I wasn't planning on watching it) The same thing happened to me. I started watching it and the dvd skipped. I haven't seen the rest of it yet but I was intrigued enough to want to finish it.

Donnie Darko is awesome. Kelly's other film - Southland Tales - is liquid shit.
