... by that movie...
What would you like to see recycled or disgarded from the comic so far?

I'd start with everything. Then work backwards.

There are definately elements from #11 onwards that I love aa it begins to unfold the story. But then again 'The Long Way Home' and 'The Chain' didn't appeal to me and I wish Joss could go back and erase some of the tragedies, mainly Warren and Ethan. But obviously he can't without erasing season 8. If they decided to make a season 9 TV series or a new movie, that would be awesome set after season 8 but the only thing about this is the change in character over the years between it and season 7. It would be hard for the actore to get into that role.

Since Season 8 has pretty well rocked, I would keep a lot of it. - If Buffy and Satsu's whatever it is had to be kept, I would have developed it a bit less obscurely (I really don't know who anybody's kidding with the 'it's been obvious since early on' nonsense), and also a bit less abruptly.
- Absolutely no hint that "Antique" was even remotely sorta kinda maybe canon. The attempted retcon of penpal thing is preposterous and out of character.
- More Amy and Warren, but I disagree that it's a big issue so far -- you know they're going to turn up again (I suspect as forced allies... awkward?).
- Keep the "No Future For You" balls up in the air more -- Genevieve was too awesome to get rid off so fast, and leaving things where they are with Buffy, Faith, and Giles with no foreseeable resolution to those conflicts are the only downside to the best arc so far.
- No traitor -- hate the whole idea of a traitor in the midst.

I wouldn't want to see Warren resurrected, especially because they haven't used him bar 2 issues. (and in one he only appears at the end). I would have more of a development of Batsu before it actually happened and I want the gang to be friendly instead of avoidy.

Warren gone! I hated him when he was on the show and I hated him more when he came back in Season 8, also, it made no sense.

I definately wouldn't want Warren in it, either. I didnt really think that it was important to bring him back, and after he died in such a way, i don't think it made sense that he was still 'alive.'

I think I'd also cut back on Willow's magic-ness, the flying is little too much for me. Also not as much technology stuff.

I wouldn't really touch anything also. Joss always knows what he is doing and where he is going. He is one of the very few writers that I trust. If he wants to bring Warren back, there is going to be a reason for it. Even tho we haven't seen him back since issue 2. So I say kick back and enjoy the ride. Most likely it's all we will get (medium-wise),

Not everything season 8 related could remain in a 2 hour movie.
I'd keep Satsu as a character. She'd only be a side character really, but a few subtle crush hints would be cool. I'd scale down the "army" considerably. I want a Buffy story about the characters again and I'm honestly not interested in "Buffy, the military leader" at all. The distant Giles thing is heartbreaking for me as I love Buffy and Giles' good relationship, but it makes sense that he'd be away again so I'd keep that the way it is. Warren and Amy would never be mentioned ever again. I think Twilight might make an interesting villain but again... in two hours he might not be developed enough. If he could be a looming franchise villain it'd work out but that'll never happen. I'd actually quite like a back to roots vampire related villain. Giant Dawn idea can go die. I agree that Willow should be more normal and less ... flying too.

I'd remove Warren. That way, they wouldn't have to explain how the First was able to be him in S7 if he didn't actually die.
Remove Dracula.I think that for the comic it'll be o.k.,but it would be kinda lame
Shrink Dawn.I'm not a big fan of giant Dawn.Hope it gets resolved soon.
I'd keep the moral ambiguity that Buffy seems to be feeling. With the slayer army, this ambiguity is an interesting theme that could be played out in many different ways.
I'd also keep the growing rift between Buffy and Willow.I think that this rift will be an important element in the comic, and works well with Buffy's situation.

Less Warren, more amy
Dawn would be a giant for the first few issues than be shrunk

I'd remove Warren. That way, they wouldn't have to explain how the First was able to be him in S7 if he didn't actually die. FYI Joss cleared this up. He says it was an error, and something along the lines of "Oops, well, he was dead for a second but Amy didn't want to tell him". There is no way I can accept that, not unless it's mentioned in the comic sometime. The whole thing was just sloppy.

He wasn't a favorite and I think he should've stayed dead.

Warren's coming back from the dead has to be the most unpopular resurrection in the buffyverse. Everyone else I wanted back:
Angel - yes Spike - yes Buffy - YES Warren - NOOOO
Why did he even warrant a ridiculous, retcon resurrection?

Ah yes the bandwagon. I hated Warren's return then, and hate it now.
I'm staying out of the majority fan reaction topic. I wont generalise other's thoughts myself.

People who hated Warren's return, at least at SlayAlive, were in the minority. By the way Henz...is there ANYTHING about Season 8 that you like? It seems you dislike a lot of things that are going on, and you loathe the things fans are hoping for. What would have made Season 8 better for you? Proof please. Not a lot if I'm honest. Buffy's turn into the moral grey area is nice and Twilight is somewhat interesting. Sometimes the dialogue hits the spot. You're generalising again btw.

I'm not generalizing. I'm asking you a question. What would make Season 8 better for you? Because from what I can see you complain about it more than you praise it. That's not a knock against you, I wanna know what Joss and his writers could do that would make you enjoy it more. What's missing? Same question goes to other fans who aren't huge fans of Season 8. You said that what I loathe is what "fans" hope for. Pretty general I think. I'm like the anti-fan... cool. I'm gonna do a semi-rant about season 8, just for you my friend. What I wanted from season 8 was the impossible. I wanted so desperately to read this comic and believe I wasn't settling. I wanted to read it and be content but sadly it just can't happen. It's not Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8, and more and more I feel as though the people behind it are insulting my intelligence by pretending it is. It's a comic, which is okay for some, but not me. I'm not a comic fan. I'm sure there's some great stuff out there and maybe I'd like it, but this is supposed to be Buffy and it doesn't work. I miss the characters, the dialogue, the rhythm of delivery the show had. The comic just can't emulate that. I miss the budget, funny as that sounds. It seems like Joss has done a George Lucas. Freed from the restraints of television, Joss can do anything he likes in the comic format, and he does, and I often dislike it. Skinless supervillain Warren is lame. Giant Dawn is lame. Armoured slayer army is lame. Constantly flying and primary colour lighting throwing Willow is lame. I miss the core cast exchanging dialogue in the Library, not exchanging generic orders through headsets in a castle. Season 8 seems to be following on from my least liked themes from season 7. Buffy's detatchment from her loved ones is rampant, sadly confirming that there was no emotional change in her at the end of season 7. Giles really has no place on Buffy anymore as his role of mentor is over; so now the shitty relationship between him and her continues. Slayer army takes too much focus from the other characters... I don't care about them at all, they should never be more than extras. Super grand scale war is upon them once more, signifying that the threat will inevitably get bigger each season and more time for character development will be lost (see Anya in season 7). I started accepting the comic but the Buffy reunion thing killed it for me. Seeing the cast together just squashed any chances there were of me ever considering Season 8 as official. And the slim chance of a movie truely buries it. I'd honestly rather sit a discuss a movie that will never happen over the comic that is currently running. The one thing I'd really like to see seaosn 8 address is just what the hell the conversation between Dawn and Joyce meant in CWDP. One of the most annoying plot holes in season 7. I'd rather it be addressed in a movie of course lol.
