Haha, getting us mad is what Joss does best.
I was doing my Latin homework and got bored and decided to translate the spell Willow did to bring Dawn, I really have no life.....
"Goddess before me, hear my name... Expose unnatural thing prodigy before us all."

"Goddess before me, hear my name... Expose unnatural thing before us all."I find that extremely interesting, the wordage... I thought Dawn was just a normal girl now? Maybe we have been wrong this whole time!

Thanks! I was trying to find out if there would be any secret clues. Translating Latin is very complicated, so it might not be 100% right, but that's the jist of it.

Well I suppose Dawn is unnatural...I mean she wasn't born like a human, moreover she was created by a spell. I wonder how exactly the monks "made her outta Buffy". I wish they would elaborate on that.

The word "prodigium" can also mean prodigy, not unnatural thing. And now that I think about it, that makes more sense. Child of great talent....

The blood splashing on Xander's face reminded me so much of Willow when Tara died, it made me sad.

This was one of this best issues so far! I liked when they were all walking away from the burning vampire. Reminded me of Angelus and spike and dru and darla walk. Anyobody else? Except this one was cooler! The end tottal surprise except i had read the spoiler so not really but it was still good. I hope she remains dead and oh god poor xander! Cant wait till next month for the next issue.

Okay... why is everyone "Oh God"ing Xander? Hello, Renee was the one who was stabbed, and quite possibly killed. Some may not like her, but seriously... we didn't all go "Oh God, poor Willow" only when Tara got shot. I get that Xander deserves sympathy, but I'm sure there's enough compassion to go around.

I think they meant to find a word suitable for "giant" -- something prodigious, after all.
I hope it pairs down to Willow vs. Kumiko, Buffy vs. Raidon (Toru's Lt.) and XANDER being the one that notches the kill on Toru. Blood for blood. That's his kill by right, whether he needs a compressed air bubble and some gasoline or not.
I don't think there will be any healing Renee out of this -- it would be too cheap. Plus, honestly, I think she's already dead in that panel. Look at her hands.

Going by logic, the only way for there to have been that much blood a split-second after being skewered is for the stake to have completely punctured the heart. Even so, methinks it's more artistic license than biology. But I agree that bringing her back would be cheap. Someone did point out that she's on the cover of #15 though... that doesn't necessarily mean anything... but hey, her death could be the major hit we've been thinking about.

I think the reason why people are sympathizing with Xander more instead of Renee is because she wasn't too important. Renee was only in a few issues and was barely develped besides these last couple issues. Tara, on the other hand, was pretty much a main character and was develped throughout three seasons. Plus, Xander having to deal with Anya's death, move on to someone else, only for them to get killed, poor guy. Even Willow didn't have to go through that..... yet.

Fair enough... and I do sympathize with the poor sod too... But it's just the bit that everyone's gasping about the death, and it's immediately poor Xander. Me on the other hand... I'm going "Ouch... skewered, again! Sheesh!" as well as "Damn, dude's got some rotten luck". Not arguing against your points... just saying, there's another wounded party here. And according to kingofcretins, that party's also very dead.

Best issue of the arc so far. Sad about the slayer in the beginning. Loved Dracula in this issue! Renee and Xander sucking face was nice to see, even if it kinda foreshadowed the ending with her getting impaled. Damnzilla was GREAT!! Looking forward to the end of this arc!

I think the reason why I don't like Renee is because of my extreme devotion to Anya, I'm sure I could of grown to like Renee, but I guess that's not going to happen now. At least we found out what the "major hit" was.

Can we be sure that this is the "major hit"? I mean, that was in the blurb for #15. Does that mean that there's another hit of sorts coming, or does this event bleedover (lousy pun) to the next, and is wrapped up (again, bad pun) there? I'm not expecting anyone to know for sure, but if if someone's heard something... share! Please.
