so, that First Night special... does that mean it'll catch us up with characters like Kate and Groo and Gwen? That sounds very cool. I'm excited! : D

eekk I'm not 'loving' the cover. It doesn't have the same effect that Buffy season 8 promo cover did. I'm kinda looking forward to it, it would be nice to see what happen in the battle and such.
Maybe Slayers where sent to help them in the battle? Since the world is full of them. I always though Buffy should have been informed of the battle in Angel. She could have sent some slayers to help. (i know SMG couldn't have done it since they didn't want Buffy there)

Brian Lynch has said on Whedonesque that it wasn't an army of Slayers, so I can't wait to see how they get out of the alley.

I think I remember Joss or someone saying that if there was a Season 6 (tv), then LA would be a warzone.

oh that would make sense. I don't think they would have been able to like kill all them demons and all in the battle. Not without help of slayers and other demon fighters. I think it would make it interesting to have LA as a war-zone.

She (yur a she, right?) has a point. I don't think so. Something about the "Benny", "Boi" and the fact that he has "Male" in his profile kinda makes me believe he is a guy. lol And how exciting, more Angel. Hey maybe Fred will come back! 4 some reason, I thought I was quoting SlayerLV

I really don't want to see angel ruined like they did with buffy by bringing in a load of potential slayers. Unless its faith or dana, coz they've been on angel before.
Terrible cover art btw. I hope its not too late to change it.

I actually really like the cover. I don't think the likeness is amazing but I really like the surroundings, especially the wings. so, that First Night special... does that mean it'll catch us up with characters like Kate and Groo and Gwen? That sounds very cool. I'm excited! : D I hope so! I would love to see what those characters are doing now. Especially Gwen and Kate, they were too cool. Justine also. Oh! And Harmony! Let's see what she did with her recommendation.

I do hope it does come out in November as announced and that we don't have to wait like 6-7 more months like we had to do with Buffy.

Have the IDW solicitations for November 2007 been released yet (?) as surely I'll be following them closely for Angel covers and descriptions.

I do hope it does come out in November as announced and that we don't have to wait like 6-7 more months like we had to do with Buffy. IDW have always been good with getting their Angel comics out on time, as promised, and their pretty good at keeping the fans sweet. Oh! And Harmony! Let's see what she did with her recommendation. I always thought Harmony was what the Spotlight series was missing. It'll be interesting to see what they come out with; whilst I do think 'Not Fade Away' was the perfect last stand for the show, I'm not as invested in Angel as I am with Buffy, and I won't be as irked if they take turns which seem out of character (given that Cordelia's character progression was more of a wiggly line than any sort of arc, I've always felt that anything was possible with the Angel mythology). That said, I'll be in a major grump if they bring Lorne back, given his exit from the show almost made up for his complete lack of character throughout much of his run. MB x

I also think "Not Fade Away" was a great ending to Angel, I remember when I first watched it back in '04 when it originally aired, I watched it with a group of friends and I think I was the only one who liked the ending. That said, I also thought Cordelia's character arc was one of the best of the series, considering where she began on Buffy. It wasn't perfect, but I think that was a reflection of the character.
I agree about Lorne! I hope they don't bring him back! And I don't feel like that about any other character.
The L.A warzone theme sounds awesome, hopefully they go with that.
The cover is adequate, nothing excellent like the Buffy original covers so far. Who is doing the Angel covers?
The Spotlight series, are they considered canon? And are they worth reading?

Cordy's storyline in s4 had to be changed at the last minute because the actress became pregnant, thats why it sucked.
Not fade away was great, ok I didn't much like the idea that they would be sacrificing their lifes (or signing away the shanshu prophecy) just to take down a tiny portion of W&H just to prove to the senoir partners they will fight back. But they couldn't have done any better with that plot, and the last few minutes were great, I don't think showing the battle itself would have made the ep any better.

I thought Not Fade Away was horrible. At first, I thought the ending was a joke. Like "Just Kidding!" was going to come up on the screen after it went black. It all led up to nothing. I'm sorry, I love Joss. I think he's a genius. I just think that was a mistake. Especially considering they didn't get picked up for the 6th season. It was anti-climactic, everything was leading up to this big event -- and then NOTHING happened. I think a lot of Angel-lovers were okay with that ending because they knew it was coming (spoilers). The rest of us were like ".....WTF? Is something wrong with the TV? That was IT?!" I also found Cordy's arc on Angel to be ridiculous and unbelievable. I think they should have done her storylines with a new character. Not Cordy. I mean, in the end of the series, she wasn't even a fragment of who she was on Buffy. Well I knew nothing of what was coming, and I think the Angel finale pissed great steamy arcs of brilliance all over the Buffy finale, and it's a major reason why I prefer Angel as a show. I don't get the moaning about the anti-climax. The brief shots of fights in the episode were edited in a way that made them seem more brutal and longer than the shambles in Buffy. And cutting the main fight off not only portrayed the messege Joss wanted perfectly, it saved us all from the dissapointment of the "epic" fight that you know will suck. I agree Cordy got [censored!]ed over. Later season 3 and season 4 are brought right down by their shoddy treatment of Cordy. [That said, I'll be in a major grump if they bring Lorne back, given his exit from the show almost made up for his complete lack of character throughout much of his run. MB x Oh I totally agree. His quiet droop into faithlessness after Fred's death was awesome I thought. I'm not a fan of the cover.

I liked Not Fade Away. I wish that there'd been some sort of epilogue afterwards (i.e-words on the screen). I didn't need to see the battle, we all know it didn't go well! There's no way they could have won.
I am interested in seeing the survivors living in post-apocalyptic LA though. That should be interesting. Although, if LA is in shambles...it makes you wonder why Buffy and the girls didn't drop by to lend a hand. The news of the PTB attacking should have been something that Buffy would see as a threat.
Anyway I agree that Cordy sucked after Season 3 of Angel. When her hair went, so did her character lol. I wish things had gone differently with the show overall.
