...is anybody else slightly peeved that IDW have gone all out on Angel: After the Fall #1 whereas Buffy season 8 #1 was just your everyday regular comic when it comes to printing. I visited my local comic shop to give the comic a quick read, and was amazed, or should I say astounded by the amount of money that must've gone into creating the issue. I mean, high quality glossy paper, all the black ink you can get and in Buffy, the horrible grainy paper with printing creases down the centre. Okay so I'm guessing the whole black ink thing is to get across the dark tone/mood of the series, but still, money much. And even in the Buffy season 8 TPB, the same horrible paper had been used as in the comic and not the smooth finished, high quality, shiny glossy paper. I was just shocked is all, sorry about the rant and most importantly, what are your thoughts on the sitch???

Do they not do that will all there comics? I have old Angel one and its done the same way.
I think the quality of the comic starts and ends at the printing, i really don't like the art. The storyline is alright but the art is shocking :\ I think the Buffy comics quality is better then Angel even if there printing on glossy paper and such.

All of the ANGEL comics from IDW are glossy cover and very nice paper. But it makes them more expensive than DarkHorse.

Oh right, I was just curious, as to why Dark Horse hadn't done the same, now I know. It looks so much better though. I really do like Urro's art although it isn't the best, it brings across the mood of the series as well, more than say if Georges Jeanty had done it!

Yeah I wish all comics were like that. IDW comics are just better quality then most companys, but they are also a dollar more than most comics.

I liked the art better than Buffy's. It has the dark feel that it should have and I like the story better. The paper is is another plus to me.

Isn't Anywhere But Here in the high quality paper? They may be changing their ways?
I also agree with the art in Angel matching the dark tone of the show.

I like what I've seen of the Angel artwork so far. Nicer printing is a plus.

But all IDW comics are the way the angel ones are and all the dark horse are the way the Buffys are. It has nothing to do with the comic it is about the company.

I've been really inmpressed with the quality of IDW's books. They go all-out on printing and they tend to have really nice stories as well.

Yeah I just found a bunch of old Angel/Spike comics from IDW in a comic store and they were all $2.50 each and I bought like 15 including scriptbooks and stuff. Then sence I bought more that 9 back issues it was 25 percent off so they were less that 2 dollars each. :0

Ok I got to say I love the new comics both Buffy and Angel, BUT.... a huge But..... I was amazed when Buffy came out there were alot of varrient covers. But I stuck in and got them all... I wanted the complete set if I was going to do it. I went into Angel in the same way...... only to find that Angel doesnt have just 2 covers to start with like Buffy... I know there were alot of different cover for printings but with Angel 2nd issue I spent over 40 buck on 5 different covers to start. Not counting the one from TST and the reprints.... Today same I go in to get Angel 3 and Buffy 10..... I come out with 70 bucks of stuff...... 2 covers for buffy and 4 covers for Angel and had to get the 3 or 4 2nd and 3rd printing covers. I thought the toys would break me but the comics are worst at this point. I know you just need to get one cover to get the story but to any collector that likes to get the complete set you have to do it now or pay a bigger price for them later.... whats a collector to do but whine I guess LOL.....
