Joss Whedon, Brian Lynch and YOU continue to tell the tale of Angel after the climactic battle that ended the Angel television series. As the first chapter in this epic tale reaches its penultimate point, Angel issues a challenge to someone (a lot of someones, actually) that he can't possibly win. Meanwhile, Spike considers changing sides as his hellish new status quo presents some opportunities he can't pass up. And we promise a shock ending more explosive than even those of the first three issues. Joss Whedon, Brian Lynch and Franco Urru continue their march through a Los Angeles truly gone to hell.
NOTE: While submissions may begin now, you may want to wait until Nov 21 when issue no. 1 hits and more information is revealed about who survives and who does not to help with cover ideas!
Again with this issue you, the subscribers will determine what cover scene will be imortalized on this limited edition comic cover.
Our exclusive special cover is still in your imagination ready to be drawn by a top comic artist.
Send your concepts to angelcover@buffycollectorclub.com
The submission deadline for No. 4 cover entries is November 28, 2007! You need not be a artist, as you are directing the cover, not drawing it. Entries may consist of verbal descriptions, sketches, drawings, PhotoShop, stick figures, or whatever means you wish to convey the concept you have envisioned.
As entries are submitted to the email angelcover@buffycollectorclub.com we will be sending them over to the Buffy/Angel discussion forum, SlayAlive.com where they will be anonymously posted in public for all to vote. After Midnight, PST, November 28, any new entries will not be considered for issue no. 4 covers. Voting for entries for no. 4 will begin on Nov 29 and continue through Dec 3rd. On Dec 3rd, the top three voted entries will be sent to IDW where one will be chosen to be to drawn by a professial comic artist to be used as the cover art for issue no. 4. IDW reserves the right to the final decision based on various approval factors.

Do you get an update at all on how many are submitted? This one is a little more difficult since there wasn't the two other covers to look at - as we had in issue 2 and issue 3.

I just sent in my idea! I agree, this was a bit harder to think of something. I still don't have issue 1 yet, though! I need to get out to the comic store this week!

Kevin says there are very little, which is not good! We need many entries! He said there were a few new subscriptions so I don't know why people don't take part, it's so easy and you'll win so much!! Here is the excerpt from the email:
Thank you for your subscription to the Angel ATF Interactive Comic Experience. As a reminder, there is only 1 day left to submit entries to win the $400 prize package as well as the COVER CREDIT for the next issue of Angel After The Fall Exclusive Covers Edition!
Just submit your cover concept idea for issue no. 4 by emailing it to angelcover@buffycollectorclub.com
So far we have had three great exclusive covers that you will be receiving in your subscription plan. No. 1 was taken right from the last shot of the TV series, where we last saw the team. No. 2 and No. 3 were designed by two BCC members and subscribers of the comic series. And boy are they great covers...they actually rival the standard covers designed by the comic pros!
Check out the winning cover for Issue No.2 right here! Erin Waggoner long time BCC member came up with this great concept for COVER No. 2! Erin's winning cover concept of Angel flying over LA on his Dragon was chosen by IDW and interpreted and drawn by comic artist Stephen Mooney for the special limited edition cover for issue No. 2. Erin will be credited for the cover concept in every issue of no. 2 (all covers!) and will receive the $400 prize package! Stephen even added a "for Erin" on the cover!
And the winning cover for No. 3 is right here! Beth Odegar, a recent BCC joinee submitted this vote winning entry for COVER No. 3! Beth's fan favorite Western themed cover concept entry was interpreted and drawn by comic artist Stephen Mooney for the special limited edition cover for issue No. 3. Beth will be credited for the cover concept in every issue of no. 3 (all covers!) and will receive the $400 prize package! Stephen even named a Saloon after Beth and put it right in the middle of the cover art!
NOW for No. 4!!! To get you started , we have the issue summary here: As the first chapter in this epic tale reaches its penultimate point, Angel issues a challenge to someone-a lot of someones, actually - that he can't possibly win.
You are free to incorporate any of the following characters: Angel, the Dragon, Spike, Illyria, Conner, Wesley, Gwen, Nina, and Gunn! You can one of the standard covers here featuring Gunn! also here at SlayAlive.com
The submission deadline for No. 4 cover entries is this Wednesday, October 28, 2007, midnight PST! That is tonight, so hurry and finish up your entries!
It's easy...You need not be an artist, as you are directing the cover, not drawing it. Entries may consist of simple text descriptions (both previous winning entries were just that!) You may also use sketches, drawings, PhotoShop, stick figures, or whatever means you wish to convey the concept you have envisioned. A single sentence description is fine too!
Here's s few tips to what makes a great cover: The image should be kept to few characters, with one main focal point. Sometimes less is more. A cover idea with too much going on is likely not to be approved by IDW. You should not be creating a scene you wish to see happen in the story, but rather a more abstract cool image that could tease and sell a comic book.
After entries are submitted to the email angelcover@buffycollectorclub.com we will be sending them over to the Buffy/Angel discussion forum, SlayAlive.com where they will be anonymously posted in public for all to vote. After October 28, any new entries will not be considered for issue no.4 covers. Voting for entries for no. 4 will continue through Dec 3rd. On Dec 4th, the top three voted entries will be sent to IDW where one will be chosen to be to drawn by a professial comic artist to be used as the cover art for issue no. 4. IDW reserves the right to the final decision based on various approval factors.
The cover winner will receive:
1. Their cover concept professionally drawn and printed as the official cover art on all 1000 copies of this limited edition comic book! Also, this same art will be shown inside all of the standard cover copies of this issue, so the whole Angel comic readership will see the results of the winning effort. Plus, the winning subscriber will have his name immortalized in the cover credits of the official issues, that's every issue, regular covers and this special cover! Imagine your name listed on the same page with the likes of Tony Harris, Brian Lynch and Joss Whedon! The artist will also find a way to work your name into the art somewhere too!
2. A Buffy/Angel merchandise loot pile worth over $400.00. The first month's prize for Issue No. 4 consists of:
- Essense of Buffy Statue by DST ($125 value) - Gem of Amara Ring Prop Replica by Factory X ($30 value) - Mr. Gordo Plush Replica ($40 value) - Spike Smile Time Puppet Prop Replica by DST ($55 value) - Buffy the Vampire Slayer Judge Bust by DST ($45 value) - White Witch Willow Deluxe Action Figure by DST ($16 value) - 50's Angel Deluxe Action Figure by DST ($15 value) - Vampire Xander Action Figure by DST ($15 value) - Buffybot Action Figure by DST ($15 value) - House Always Wins Lorne Action Figure by DST ($15 value) - Summers Family Album Action Figure 3-pack by DST ($50 value)
Good Luck!

SInce there are only a few - will they let us enter more than one? Or, perhaps, they would look at the submissions for issues 2 and 3 once more. After all, they ideas may have been good, but not right for that particular issue's cover. It is tricky coming up with a new idea, so it shouldn't hurt to resubmit an older one. All they can say is yes or no. So asking is no risk, I figure.

I almost forgot to send mine in but remember to do so yesterday morning, and was five minutes late to work because of it.
I'm surprised more people aren't sending things in; has the luster gone down?? I'd think it'd go up once people started to see that, yeah...we can do it, too!!

I would love to submit more then one idea. I think more people would send in ideas if they had a better idea of want the issue is about. I only found out a day or so before the deadline for the concepts for cover 4 was due what issue 4 was some what about

Its actually a little easier now that we have read the comic (which was awesome) and seen some of the earlier winners to think something up. This one should be great! Good luck everyone!

They need to have a huge advertisement about the contest in the comic. Otherwise, how are people going to know about it?

I think when Issue 2 is released, fans will recognize that they have the chance to get their ideas on paper, and we'll see more ideas pouring in, and more subscriptions at that. The covers will be displayed in every comic, regardless the cover, and so will the names, so it'll be a big advertisement for the contest. As the comic progresses, I think people will start to feel more comfortable with submitting ideas, as they start to get a feel for what the comic will portray.
