The end of magic?
I do not. I want the verses to stay on there own.
Thoughts?

It's not "verses." It's "verse". Buffyverse. They're part of the same thing. The end of magic IS part of the Buffyverse. It's going to happen. But I agree, I hope season 9 doesn't end like that.

I think it's funny when people talk about the end of season 9 when we aren't even thru half of season 8. They might stop "the end of magic" theme by the end of this season, so who knows what season 9 is going to be about.

I'm all for it. I'd love to know what actually happens to bring an end to all magic.

I'm alright with it too, as long as Buffy doesn't die.

As long as her end is fitting, death or otherwise, I would love to learn how it plays out. I mean, Buffy's not going to live forever, so if she dies, then it'll probably spell the end for the show. If she goes on to do other things, would still be a good end. As I said, either way would be cool with me.

I don't want season 9 to end with the end of magic. But guys, Buffy is going into the future to meet Fray in 'Time Of Your Life', which means she is most likely gonna find out about the end of magic, and might make some changes that will affect her present time. Thus, stopping the threat of the end of magic. Who knows? We'll just have to wait.

Since I read Fray 2 months ago I now think twighlight will suceed but magic will start to fade away slowly rather than dissapear all at once. Willow and Dawn will use the power of the key to seal away the essence of magic (use the power of the key for good, like the Monks said) but willow will have to close the portal from the inside (it's her hand in Fray). Season 8 finale. Season 9 Amy's power will start to fade and warren will die and she'll step into willows magic shoes. The reason there has been no follow ups to Fray is because it will give too much buffy stuff away. After Hoff tried to open the portal Willow pop out and fray will find her. As magic is beginning to return so will willows power, while it does she will become Fray's watcher and get it on with frays older cop sister. Well thats what I want.

I was being sarcastic too ¬¬
Ok, back to topic, I don't want S9 to end with the end of magic, but I also don't want Buffy to change that, because that would affect the time continuity and Fray would never exist/ be called as the slayer.

Maybe she'll (Buffy) realize that activating the Slayer Essence wasn't the best thing to do...

I think it's already hit her, and she's bruising a little... but with Slayer healing, it might take a couple more whacks for it to truly sink it. There were some doubts she had, most clearly shown in #11. Even if she were completely pig-headed, it would require a very stupid person to not see that every action, no matter how noble the intent was/is, can have undesirable consequences. That is if it takes her all the way to the end of S9 to figure it out.

I think that Buffy and Fray meeting will impact the future in a big way. I think that Buffy will want to change the future, and will do whatever she has to do to ensure the era of magic lives on.
That would put Fray into an alternate universe type of thing.

Hm. I thought it was Buffy's hand when I read the comic. Looked like that in the comic, since it was a slayer that faced the demonarmy. But Willow's hand would fit with your theory. I hope it's Buffy's hand. I hate to change the "canon-line" in my head. lol

Maybe that is why Joss is crossing them over. He might think that he has written himself into a corner by talking about the ending of magic, in Fray. He could possibly be doing this next arc so he can change the future, and give himself some more creative leeway.

Oh no changing the future. I love Fray, don't want it to be messed with.

I think Joss knows exactly where things are going. This crossover comic with Fray has been planned out since the beginning of S8.
I agree tho, that magic should not be banished, I will be sad if it ends that way.

I love Fray, but to be honest that future is a craphole. Would it be so awful if the future were possibly changed for the better?
