Does anyone think that one of the 4 main characters (Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles) should die?
Don't get me wrong, I don't want any of them to be killed but I think one of them should be killed just to make it more different. Personally I really love Buffy, Willow, and Xander. If any of these 4 should die, I think it should be Giles.

Eh, I don't think any character is safe in Jossverse, including the Core Four. Nicholas Brendon said Joss was originally planning to kill him off in Dirty Girls, instead of having him lose his eye, but the other writers talked him out of it.
Personally, the main character I care the least about, at this point in the story, is Willow, but thematically, it would make more sense for Giles to go. Buffy had outgrown him by Lies My Parents Told Me.

I wouldn't say any should die, but if one did, and the story was well done, I probably wouldn't have a complaint with it.

I don't want any of the Core 4 to die. Like Xander dying at the end of Season 7, I just don't see the fans being able to deal with it. If Buffy, Willow, Xander and Giles were all able to make it through a dozen or so apocalypse's already, I don't see why they can't keep on trucking. I'd imagine that the "end of magic" will probably see some major changes to the Buffyverse, but for the time being, I would not like to see any of them die.

No no no no no why should they its not like they need to didn't we lose enough on the show? Anya Tara spike... i cant see how it would help by losing another main character because were sorta running low as it is.

I could see Willow dying. Just a feeling. I don't think she will. But, of the 4, I could see her being the one to go.

I don't see Willow being the one to go. On the other hand I can see Giles or Xander being killed off. Personnally I think one of them two should have been killed off at the end of season7. By now everybody would say Season 7 is their favorite. You know, they made a big fuss out of the final battle and it lacked in losses.

Buffy will die at the end of the series thats for sure..Three is the magic number . Now whenit comes to Willowi think her characteris downplayed at this point for a reason and in my opinion that reason is that Joss really plans something big for her, and i amnot quite sur whether that would prove helpful to the Scoobies or be the thing that will obliterate them. besides will can get herself out of every difficult situation, it owuld require something REALLY big to kill her off. PS On a fun note, ithink that Joss should kill all of Buffy's friends in the serie's final episodes so that he can also ressurect them inthe very last one, just like the anime version of Sailor Moon

I would be very upset if one of them died. Although if it had a story like most of the significant character deaths in the Buffyverse, I'm sure I could appreciate it. It would take some time, but if it was a point in the story that was important and needed to happen, I would understand.
If any of them were going to die, I would prefer it be Xander. I love the character, but I would have a harder time coming to terms if any of the other three died.
Also, I hope that Faith isn't killed. She's another character I couldn't stand dying. Again, if it was a end to her story that couldn't be told otherwise, I would understand. But it would have to be an awesome story!

I would full on hate it if Xander died he is like the only normal person on the show which out him the show is just full of people who have powers. Well there is Giles but.. hes old so ya no. I think if it needed to happen Willow or Giles would die.

I seriously thought that Faith would die at the end of 'No Future For You'. I could see it happening. The good thing about the season 8 comics is that a death of any character could happen at any time in any issue cause there's no credits and we hear about no actors signing on for more episodes etc. If I had to pick one, I'd pick Giles. Only because the other 3 are really best friends and they appeared in all of the episodes. (bar Xander one episode). I would be really upset if Giles died though but I knew it would be a fantastic storyline if any of them died.

I want another moment like in Chosen, where it's the four of them talking before something big (a la season finale) goes down. I want that moment before anyone dies! They need to reconcile and forgive each other, I would hate for one of them to die before they've made up.

Actually,Willow wasn't in "A Beautiful Sunset",she has had no real time with Xander, and a rift between her and Buffy. I don't think that they will kill any of the core four, but if done right,it would be a very powerful event for any of them to die.

I don't like to think they cannot kill off any of the four chor characters just because they are the main characters. It's unrealistic if you consider all they have gone through, I am amazed they made it this far anyway.
I don't want them to kill off Willow because I want to see what she can become but Xander and Giles should be next on the list, not both of them though.

I think before it's all said and done Giles and Willow could well be worm-food. Buffy has done dying to death, and despite reports that it nearly happened, I just can't see Xander dying. He's the heart of the show.

I don't really see any of them dying in this (and possibly) the next seasons.
Buffy's been through two deaths, and she's definitely not gonna die while trying to close Earth's demons off in another dimension. i mean on fray that was already hinted at, and since Joss is Joss, he's not going to be predictable. Plus we already know she's gonna survive s.8, and i'm guessing in her trip to XXXIst century she's going to find out about that end of magic thing, and Fray and Buffy will eventually find a way to change that.
Erm Giles...nah, still too predictable. he's become the dark guy who stands up to buffy and won't follow her orders, so her coming to terms with his death as a possible storyline is probably very interesting, but unlikely to happen. so far s.8 has been about strained relationship and characters growing distant from one another, he's kinda the emblem of this, plus there is still lots to tell about him and his new giles-faith combo (not to mention that duo is a HUGE potential for a BtVS spin-off, and DH already knows fans are dying for it, so by the end of s.8 i bet they'll get their own series).
Willow is necessary, she represents the magic in the Buffyverse and is a very positive character to the show. Besides, in s.8 she shows to have grown and learnt much, and Buffy's influence on her has mostly vanished. she's a new, complete character now that has lots to give to the storylines.
Xander, now that's a point that makes me doubtful. So far he's been pretty useless in s.8 (don't get me wrong, i love xander, but he got no storyline), and they've clearly seen to that, as he's turned to xan-the-man in this last arc, what with Dracula's story and all. And Renee's death is definitely going to have a huge impact on him, especially regarding his loyalty towards buffy. he will go through what willow has already been through - how much is he willing to sacrifice to buffy's cause? throughout the years, he's always sacrificed himself and his life in order to help buffy out. But now the game has changed, and fighting now means sacrificing his own happiness - even sacrificing other people!- to stand up for buffy. That's why he's my likely candidate for betraying her, since he'll become a far darker character, but as the others from the Core 4, he's necessary - he's the humble, loving and everyday man who keeps everyone's feet on the ground. once he's gone, buffy, willow and the rest of the gang will go on separate ways, not to mention spiralling out of control.

Don't worryalycat willow wont face a permanent death. Now when itcomes to Faith , i think that she has already experienced death, by that imean that during a timeperiod she was dead inside, now that can be more important and tormenting than any other form of death. So she wont die, at least not in season 8

But when I thought about it, that seems like a reason Joss and co. would keep them alive, because it makes for the most interesting stories and characters.
