Best
Buffy/Faith arc The Chain Next issue might bring back my favorite aspect of the series. Scoobs and B/A!
Worst
B/S...I thought Buffy learned her lesson with Spike in season 6. Giles leaves...again Scoobies are sooo disconnected.

THE BEST #16- Perfect issue #11- Perfect issue, and the best "This is the Big Bad" moment of BtVS - Everyone is in character, the stories are funny and have emotional resonance. - Best season since Season Five (so far) #15 and #19 were damn good ways to end Goddard and Whedon's arcs - Buffy Summers is, at last, a character that no longer grates on my nerves. Now, I can love her again
THE WORST #5: The Chain- Joss has done non-linear, and he usually does it well. Not so much here. This issue was completely incoherent, and even the jokes fall flat. The fairy impregnation gag comes to mind. It ended on a high note, but with a better script, it would have been one of Whedon's best works, because the concept is quite good. The execution, however... not so much. - The continuity error that was Warren. Whedon could make the 'verse make sense again if he only references Warren having died for a second... on screen. #17 and #18: Not bad issues. Still solid 8/10s... just not up to Joss's standard. There was some weak writing, such as Fray hollering for her sister to brake in one issue and then not knowing the word "brake" when Buffy tells her to. Also, the switch in Fray's speech patterns was horrid. These two are only here because they're weak in comparison to the surrounding issues, #16 (best in the series) and #19, a fine closer.

The Best: - Kennedy is interesting, as is dawn. - The Return of Fray - Twilight - NFFY and ABS-TOYL - Amy coming back
The Worst: - Dawn needs to quit changing - Warren's return - The Chain was weird -

3. Satsu and Buffy = Eeeeeewwwwwww! I'm sorry, HOW old are we?! Seriously? I'm amazed that people are still being this level of immature about Issue 12. Get over it. It was explained perfectly, it fell into place quite well, and the only people bitching are the ones who refuse to grasp the basic concept that sex with the same sex doesn't mean you're instantly gay. Buffy isn't gay. There was nothing 'ew' about it any more-so than any other sexual couple, but hey, feel free to demonstrate that lacking maturity. Seriously, it's great that fans of a show like Buffy can still have reactions like that. *headdesk*

I mean I love Satsu as a charatcer and can't wait for her issue with Kennedy I just wish they had given it a bit more time to un wind. I know we had the lip gloss thing and that she is Buffy's best fighter etc...It's just in issue 11 Buffy is saying her and Satsu can never be and then bang (literally). I just think if Buffy was to experiment she would have done it before now. Having said that the scene where everyone finds out was hilarious. Anyhoo I don't want to turn this into a Buffy/Satsu thread as I believe there already is one in the 'Wolves at the Gate" topic.

Off the top of my head:
Best: - No Future for You - The Chain - Introduction of the Giles/Faith dynamic - Angel/Buffy/Spike threesome panel ;] - By turns hilarious and touching Xander-Dracula scenes - The humor - Jo Chen's covers - Dark Willow (for the most part)
Worst: - A Buffy who robs banks, lets vampires snack on innocent people, and makes snide comments about one of her friends' deaths - Buffy/Satsu, which only came out smelling like a rose because it featured homosexuality; if it was a guy that Buffy was using, or vice versa, it would have been just as wrong as Parker-->Buffy and Buffy-->Spike were presented - Expansion of the 'verse to include giant chickens and Tolkien ripoffs - Mecha Dawn - Warren retcon - Limited Giles pagetime - Dawn's storyline

Anyhoo I don't want to turn this into a Buffy/Satsu thread as I believe there already is one in the 'Wolves at the Gate" topic. The rushing aspect I get entirely. (though Buffy never actually says "It'll never happen" in ABS). More fleshing out would've been useful...make that onscreen fleshing out. God knows what we're missing between panels and such. Experimenting seemed iffy to me at first, then it hit me that Buffy's really only around 24ish. She's still very much young, just shoved into the mold of someone very old (and handling it poorly in some areas). I can list valid gripes with the act. At the core would be the power dynamic.....and I'm threadjacking so I'll shut it off there.

Best -
Buffy's "for the greater good" mindstate. Should build into some truely intense pay-off one of these days. It's a natural progression from the similar Buffy of season 7, and should add resonense to that as well.
Jo Chen's covers.
Taking Buffy's mass-empowering from "Chosen" and showing more clearly the pay-off, both positive and negative. Definately a fruitful area for exploration.
The art and nostalgia of issue 20. Looks lovely.
Worst -
The group dynamic is still not there. The characters are even further apart than before, although we can hope this will eventually be resolved.
The "ooh it's a comic! Time to add unnecessary and stupid flashy visuals!" factor. It fails in two ways for me. It looks silly next to the TV universe already set up, but it's a comic and maybe needs some more interesting visuals. That in itself would be something easier to accept if it wasn't trying to act like a television season. Funny Dawn's will never sit right with me. It's not something Joss would have ever done on-screen; not just because of budget or effect limitations, but because it would look ridiculous.
The new characters are great, which only serves to make the pointless return of characters like Amy and Warren look worse. Warren is just amazingly stupid back-peddling.

Best: - Wolves At The Gate - Anywhere But Here - Seeing Amy & Joyce come back. - New slayer characters.
Worst: - Buffy's ever-changing hair length. - Forest monsters and Dark!Willow. Come on now! That's just silly. - Lack Of Tara - Random Renee death, and the fact that no couple can be happy in the Buffyverse. - Time Of Your Life, this arc made me lose faith in Buffy. I'm seriously considering not reading the comics anymore. - A centaur? Really? A giant was pushing it. But a centaur just crosses the stupidity line. - Lack of Scoobiness.

I don't mean Eeeeeeeeeew as in the sexuality of it, just the fact that it caught me by a BIG SURPRISE and that my expression was more of what Willow's was in the issue which was "What are you doing in bed with Satsu?"
I understand that Buffy isn't gay, I knew that already, its just an aspect of season 8 that I didn't like. So you don't have to get annoyed at me or anyone else for not getting over it ... it's our opinion and what you've got to say is your opinion.

The Best: Hmmm, there's so much. The fact that there is a season 8 as someone else pointed out. Jeanty's art. Moline's art. Joss' writing. The Buffy/Xander relationship. Amy being a villain. The unlikely pairing of Faith and Giles. The mystery of Twilight. The fact that it actually feels like another season of the show. Dawn's transformations. Satsu. Jo Chen's gorgeous covers.
The Worst: Why can every magic user suddenly fly? If it was just Willow it would be alright, but now it seems any witch/warlock has to fly. Mecha-Dawn, ugh. Waiting a month for each new issue.

I didn't like Time Of Your Life. The first part was promising and did have a lot of potential. But by part 3, which was the most boring issue ever, nothing seemed to be happening. Then I decided to wait for part 4 to make up for it all, but it didn't deliver. It's a shame because I really love every Buffy story, on the show and in the comics so far, I think they are all amazing, however I think Joss should have taken this arc in a different direction. Only my opinion.

....someone care to explain how we can bash the Riley thing yet when we really only saw him once? We don't know what he's doing. We know what we've seen but that's it. He could be all kinds of manipulating one, or both sides for all we know.

Best Faith! Twilight is an interesting villain Amy is a very cool villain Satsu rules Dracula was much cooler then he was in the TV show (cheese) I love Fray I am a succor for returning characters I like seeing more mature ex potentials Kennedy is cooler than the TV show and I was a fan then Dawn and xander make a cool team I hope they get together Worst Buffy, She hates Faith more then ever (for no reason) (she is using satsu who disserves better) typical selfish Buffy I hate Andrew I hate Warren Way to little Robin Wood Renee, I was not a big fan of her and she was killed off to quick for me to care one way or the other I hate how little development was given to Fray. I would rather we had fray 2 than a Buffy arc. Riley is evil Kennedy deserves more than Willow is giving her. I miss Anya
PS I want Satsu and Kennedy together!

Best: -There's a Season 8 -Faith and Giles team up, opening a chance for a spin-off -The mystery behind Twilight -Amy returning as a mini bad -Joyce returning for issue 20 -Jo Chen Covers -The return of Fray -How Buffy, Xander, Willow and Dawn stay together -New slayers -New mini bads -If Buffy's decision about 1800 slayers existing together was right. -Riley might be evil, I always hated him I hope he gets killed (I wonder if he and Sam got divorced?) -Simone Doffler being rogue -Three Buffy decoys
Worst -Warren's return, I liked how someone else said Amy should've been Twilights GF -Very very little of Robin Wood -Genieve Savidage, I felt it was a rip off of Queen of the Slayers -Dark Willow, why couldn't it be Vampire Willow? -How Willow could suddenly fly which seemed odd -How the characters art seemed like they were continuing from season 3 rather then season 7 -How there's NO ASIAN slayers, Satsu was from Japan (which is a country everyone knows about) why couldn't there be a slayer from Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, or LAOS? (it's capitalized for a reason (; -Jon Foster's covers -What ever happened to Chao Ahn, Caridad, Shannon, Dana and all those who lived the Hellmouth? excluding Rona, Vi, Kennedy, and Amanda (I'm not saying this is a bad thing, but they could at least mentioned about it) -Barely any Giles, just enough to pass the line -Andrew still doesn't have a boyfriend ): -There's basically no mentioning of Anya

Willow is flying way more than she ever did--but she's been capable of it since at least "Two to Go." Dark Willow was big on flying. 2. Remember that the majority of the events are set in Scotland? Unless you're referring to when we were in Japan--but I thought that the majority of the slayers in WATG were Asian. I could be wrong, though. There probably are slayers from all of those places. They just don't go walking around wearing their flags on their combat gear. I bet we'll meet some in time. 3. Chao-Ahn died in "Chosen" But I agree--we should be seeing more of the others. BESTIts very existence The humor The spot-on characterization and dialogue Buffy's and Xander's natural character evolutions Its darkness Xander/Renee interactions Buffy/Satsu interactions Willow/Kennedy is working way better than it did (We need more Kennedy, though) It's hard to name good things, because it's basically everything except the bad things I listed. WORSTBuffy's insensitive line about Cordelia SO MANY unanswered questions No acknowledgement of Angel or Spike WAY too long a wait between issues (things take too long to pay off) Warren (not necessarily his return--but how much he's being wasted. If you're going to retcon, make it worth something) Time of Your Life explaining nothing Mecha Dawn Forest creatures Willow apparently having no limits anymore Renee and Satsu being thrown away so early (hopefully Satsu comes back full swing soon) Nothing on Andrew's love life (How many times has Joss said that the gloves are off now that we're in comics---why not just do something with it)

3. Chao-Ahn died in "Chosen" But I agree--we should be seeing more of the others. Actually, Chao Ahn was very much alive at the end of "Chosen". I'm pretty sure she was seen running out of the collapsing building, and was on the bus. I looked her up on Wikipedia, and apparently in Queen of the Slayers, Chao Ahn was mistakenly reported to have bit it.

We see an Asian Slayer get killed in the Hellmouth, and another on the bus, but neither of them look like Kristy Wu. She is credited on IMDb as being in the episode, but I'm pretty sure she is no where in the end credits.
