I used to be confused about the Chao-Ahn issue as well. Since then, though, I've actually read the script from "Chosen," and it says: "Lying on the ground, bleeding and barely conscious, Buffy watches with dismay as Chao-ahn is seized from behind by a Turok-han. The vicious beast sinks its fangs into her neck, tearing into her flesh and killing her. Then a bloody stake falls to the ground right in front of her and Buffy’s head turns in time to see Amanda fall, her face covered in blood, her dead eyes staring sightlessly at Buffy." So, I think it's pretty safe to assume that Chao-Ahn is dead. Although, I guess I can't prove that it's the official transcript. If not, though, somebody went to a CRAZY amount of trouble transcribing all 144 episodes. It can be found at www.buffy-vs-angel.com/buffy_tran_144.shtml if anybody else wants to check it out.

Chao-Ahn's never mentioned and I'm pretty sure we see her on the bus.

I'm pretty sure the slayer Xander is tending to on the bus is Chao Ahn, maybe played by a new actress. The Asian slayer who dies in the Hellmouth is credited as "Potential With Power #2". Did anyone notice Caridad wasn't in the battle, but Shannon was? I find that strange.

Am I the only one who felt their dialogue was completely out of character and failed miserably in its attempts to be humorous? No, you're not the only one. I didn't think Dracula went over well at all, at least to me.

BEST:
-Buffy and Xanders close friendship.
-The humor that the show had being in the comic.
-Wolves At The Gate
-Buffy continuing.
-Faith returning.
-TLWH.
WORST
-Lack of unity between the Scoobies.
-Mecha Dawn, Tree Creatures, Centaur, etc. The show used to have a simplicity feeling to it and now its kinda of like a mystical World of Warcraft type thing.
-Lack of Anya.
-the confusingness that is TOYL.
-Buffy and Satsu.

BEST:
1) Buffy’s arc this season. It’s dark and compelling and taking her character into a completely new direction, I hope they really churn it out well.
2) The amazing and scary parallels between Buffy/Faith/Gigi.. “Are you the bad slayer now, am I the good slayer now?”
3) A reflection of how Faith feels about the Mayor, we never really got one.
4) Faith/Giles tag team- very interesting and different.
5) The Buffy/Xander relationship, it’s very sweet and complete with Bandery vibes
6) The Buffy/Willow relationship, sometimes strained, very emotional and complex this season- I love the way it’s been handled, and having Buffy Vs Dark Willow in ‘Time of Your Life’ was very revealing.
7) The series focuses on Buffy/Willow/Xander again! And the awesome Scooby moments we’ve had so far.
8) Twilight- a very compelling villain with a great mystery behind him.
9) Writing poorly written and unlike able characters and making them likeable such as Kennedy and Dracula.
10) New interesting slayers like Satsu, Renee, Rowena and Leah who are far better than the potentials from season seven.
11) Jo Chen’s covers
12) The humour- one of the funniest seasons ever and a breath of fresh air from the mundane doom and gloom of season six/season seven
13) A reflection on the empowerment spell of ‘Chosen’ and not being afraid to look at both sides of the aftermath.
14) The writing- it’s smart and sassy again and bubbly which made Btvs such a critical success in the first place. And the season is rich in imagery and themes, metaphors and parallels. Overall it’s more complex than ‘After the Fall.’
15) The big honkin castle- best Scooby hang out since the library- so gothic and detailed.
THE WORST:
1) Not enough Giles, I need me some more Ripper!
2) The Warren storyline needs clarification. I don’t actually mind him as it makes ‘The Killer In Me’ far more interesting but Joss needs to clarify in the text that Warren did technically die, saying it in an interview isn’t good enough.
