I started a thread back in early July and nearly had my head torn off my a bunch of Slayer folk here on this site. Wellk, it's confirmed people, Scot Allie confirmed what I said and that Buffy season 8 ends with issue 32. Here's what he said.... - Buffy Season 8 will finish up a crossover with characters from Whedon’s former comic series Fray, then Jeph Loeb is coming on for a single issue that will pick up on a "couple of things they weren’t able to do with Buffy." After that, Jane Espenson, who was a writer for the Buffy television show, will kick off a five-issue arc featuring stories by the show’s TV writers. In the story, Buffy’s world goes public. "Vampires become common knowledge and it changes everything for the slayers," Allie said. Following that arc, Espenson comes back for five-issue arc featuring Oz. Then Brad Meltzer will be writing five issues before the series wraps up." Do the math people, that's 19 more plus 16 out already = 35 Ok, well I was close. Considering a bunch vehimently stated no, no, it's going up to 40" Hate me if you want, but I love Buffy, her world, all the folk in it and Angel & Spike world too. That's 3 worlds. Wow, knew of only 1 for sure. So if I love Buffy so much, why is my slayer karma -1. So rude if you ask me. Not that you did or want to. But remember, life is too short and there are people everywhere who struggle just to find a bite to eat. Yet here we fight over a comic. Nice to know we've got our priorities all lined up in a row. Besides, I think we've got bigger problems, like if Obama becomes president. You think things are bad now....HA. TTFN

Ok I'm not trying to make you mad. I'm just stating the facts. Besides the fact that Joss said that there's going to be 40, if you look at the bottom of that paragraph it says "Then Brad Meltzer will be writing five issues before the series wraps up."The last 5 words are "before the series wraps up". And it's been stated that the last 5 issues will be written by Joss himself. Again I'm not mad at you, or screaming at you. Just saying what has been noted numerous times. There is going to be 40 issues.

Sorry, but this is out itt's going to turn out, from what's been said... Long Way Home 1-5 Joss Whedon No Future For You 6-10 Brian K. Vaughn Wolves At The Gate 11-15 Drew Goddard Time Of Your Life 16-20 Joss Whedon Vampires In Public 21-25 Jane Espenson, Doug Petrie, Drew Greenberg, Jim Krueger, and James S. DeKnight Untitled Oz Arc 26-30 Jane Espenson Untitled Arc 31-35 Brad Metzler Joss Final 36-40 Joss Whedon
Now, I'm not sure if Jane is going to write 2 arcs in a row, but a recent interview said she will. So, the 5th or 6th arc may have a different writer, but other than that this list is accurate.

Sorry, but no. All your really doing is making yourself look stupid. Not trying to be rude, but it's working. We have all this proof against you, yet you insist on arguing.

The way I understand it, Jane is going to write the first issue of the Vogue Vamps arc, and other writers will write the rest. Then she will be the writer of the Oz arc.

*smacks head* This has gotten kind of ridiculous. richjl413 can't you just accept that Season 8 will have 40 issues, and be happy about it? No one attacked you last time either, they just pointed out that you were mistaken. You were the one that posted personal attacks.
Season 8 has been confirmed to have 40 issues, it's a done deal.

Nice list, to add to it, the Vampires In Public arc is going to be the arc that is the same story written from different points of view, so each issue will have a different writer, Jane Espenson will begin it with issue 21, then a combination of Doug Petrie, Drew Greenberg, Jim Krueger, and James S. DeKnight will finish off the final 4 issues of that arc, with Jane coming back for issues 26 through 31 with the Oz arc, the Brad Meltzer will be doing 32-36, and Joss himself will be writing the final four issues of the season hope my math is right lol

Math is a wee bit off, millenium. Other than giving the whole 21-25 arc to Jane instead of the writers you mentioned, millenium062 was 100% right about the issue line up.

21 through 25 are five issues in the quasi-arc about vampires being public. 26 through 30 are the five issue arc by Jane featuring Oz. 31 through 35 are the Meltzer arc, and 36 through 40 are the Joss arc. Only five issue arcs from here on out.

Smashed, I'm guessing you were going by what the TPB would include, yes? Issue 20 is being written by Jeff Loeb. And let's credit the one-shots too. Holy frijole, talk about being a glutton for punishment and not being able to admit when you're wrong. Emmie, you might wanna edit your list to fix one thing: it's Steven S. DeKnight, not James.

I'm puzzled. You are being snide, no? When you're the one who started yet another pointless thread to debate the number of issues scheduled for S8? I've felt bad for you before, but since you persist, *hands over a shovel*.
