Taken from the new 'Ask Sideshow' www.sideshowtoy.com/behindtheshow/?page_id=2746Quote: Question: Are there plans for more 12-inch figures of from the Buffy and Angel lines? SSC: The Buffy and Angel lines are currently on hold. While there is a huge universe of characters to draw from, we do feel satisfied that all of the core characters (at least from the original Buffy cast) have been represented at this point. We'll be focusing on other properties for a while, but do hope to return to the Whedonverse in 12-inch at some point in the future." Somehow I can't but help read 'on hold' as 'canceled until further notice myself', and I was hoping for a Wesley figure in the Angel line too. *sigh* Sad news, and on the month celebrating the tenth anniversary of Buffy too.

That so sucks. I was really looking forward to an Illyria figure. Bugger.

"All of the core characters have been represented" Is it a joke? We don't have Dawn,Anya,Tara and Riley! I hope they'll release some new 12" Buffyverse figures in the future

I'm agree for Dawn, Anya and Tara, but Riley isn't a core character for me. I won't buy it, if they made him anyway. And I think Willow is really bad !!! The head of the human verison is horrible, and the clothes of the vampire suck !

Looks like they've been reading DST's guide to identifying key characters from a TV show. IMO they are just giving us a load of BS to excuse the fact they prefer Star Wars now and don't have any resources left for Buffy and Angel. This will come back to bite them in the ass once the SW fans start to pick 'n' choose figures.

I think a season 5 Willow is a MUST. I'm not really happy with little, introverted Willow 'cos she changed a lot throughout the show. And i want a Chosen Buffy

It is very disappointing but I am wondering if their decision is based on sales. Can't blame them if they are not making profit or losing money on their releases. I have no insider information on this nor do I know that this is a fact - I am just speculating. This year is the 10th anniversary of Buffy beginning but it also is been 4 years since the show ended (2003). Perhaps peoples interest is just not what it used to be. The Buffyverse will always have die hard fans but are they (we) enough?

I agree that it is disapointing. I am just hoping that they do release the characters of Anya, Tara, Dawn, Riley, new Willow, new Faith, "Becoming" Buffy, "Graduation Day" Cordelia, Wesley, Gunn, Fred, Illyria and so many others.

It's really too bad that they are putting the line on hold.
I'm sure they have properties with far larger fan bases that sell MUCH better.
Personally, I'd love more Buffys, more Cordys, a Fred, of course, Illyria, and Doyle.
I'm not happy with the You're Welcome Cordy. I had pre-ordered her and cancelled her when I saw her. I wish they'd done at least one Buffy series Cordy.
I've only just started to collect more of the Sideshows. I just got the Hush Buffy and the human faced Willow. I've added them to my human faced Spike, Drusilla, City of Angel, and Lorne. Add that to my Max Steel, who looks like Riley, and it's a little bit of a collection.
I wish the new Giles had a better likeness. Oh well, it's a pretty nice line as it is.

I love to see more sideshow figures, I mean there alot left for them to do. I mean they cant be losing to much money if they stick to what people want and offer great likeness. Look at the last Angel figure that sold out fast.... again D'Hoffyrn he sold out and to get one now cost a fortune. Same goes for Darla and Dru. If they put out what people want and put out a great looking figure they sell out every time. I think they are going to try and puch people over to the prem format by not offering regular 12"........ just my thoughts

I'm really surprised by this news considering they have been doing so well on selling out on the Buffy and Angel merchandise. I actually got to talk to one of the designers for Sideshow, who was a late bloomer as a Buffy/Angel fan. She actually pushed for a lot of the fan input as part of the development of the line. She was extremely happy that she got Lorne approved because she feared that it was too minor of a character for Sideshow to produce. She actually hinted that a Doyle would be possible. I just hope she didn't loose her job.

Illyria would be fantastic and I agree that a new willow is needed. I never bothered to buy either...they just kinda suck imo. my collection of sideshows is small: becoming angel, hush buffy and vampire and subway spike. I would love to add human spike, lorne (he looks great!), D'hoffryn, gentlemen and if they would ever make them: illyria, fred, anya, tara, new willow, new giles (this one is horrible, imo!!), doyle, i think sweet would look cool as a 12" too. he was an awesome villian....
