In this thread we will discuss having sex with people without them knowing about it and how rape on men is betlittled.
I watched 40 days and 40 nights a few years ago. In one scene the main male character wakes up after a wet dream. He notices his ex-girlfriend on top of him. She rubbed herself against him until he came, so she could win a bet.
First time I saw it, I thought "Man she's mean, he most feel gross." Then I continues watching the movie, not at all surprised that he didn't yell rape.
Today, I want to cry when I think about it. Now I consider men's feelings more. I don't think that the male character would ever call it rape, because he's a man. Men can't be raped, and if they're viloated, they need to suck it up. Hell, they should be glad a woman took the initiative. By the way, I'm being sarcastic.
To make my post more concise;
*Sex with sleeping people is wrong, unless you know for sure that they're okay with it. They might not care, they might wake up and participate, they might kill themselves to get rid of the memory.
*Women can rape women, men can rape men, men can rape women and women can rape men.
* A lot of men might not agree with me on the rape point, although I bet not one of them would be glad if they're mean ex had sex with them when they're sleeping, almost causing they're current relationship to come chrasing down (as seen in 40 days and 40 nights). But all men should have the same rights in court as women when it comes to rape and the same kind of support from friends.
My little sister have a friend who woke up one night, discovering that her boyfriend was having sex with her. They brook up, and her therapist told her "If my husband did that to me I wouldn't care." I myself think that it's always rape, unintential or not (maybe my little-sister's friend's boyfriend thought she would be okay with it). Unless there's consent, there's rape.
What I'm trying to do is argue with the people that say "It was his ex, it's not that bad). Also, I needed to tell someone about it. I hate that therapist.
What I'm also trying to do with this thread is to say that in some ways this patriarchal society we live in is matriarchal.
The female body has for a very very long time been both worshipped and objectified. So either we see rape of women as a very horrible crime (also because of our weak fysic, we're naturally the "victims") or as nothing.
The male body doesn't today have the same focus as the women. We don't ask ourselves if men can be raped, and since violation is a touchy subject we trivialaze the question instead. Women has had their sexual revolution, we can sleep with whoever we want and then go and vote. Men's feelings have however been left out. They need a revolution.
The male body should be respected just as much as the female body. But I have to admit, it feels weird saying it. I blame society. *shrug*
Hopefully tough, this post will make you tell your female friends "Hey, it's not okay to stare at that guys crotch. Unless he seems to like it."
Also, just because you're going steady with someone doesn't mean that they will always be willing.
What do you guys think? Can a girl rape a girl? A girl rape a man? Should my sister's friend have called the police(assuming that he didn't beg her for forgivness, realizing that he had done something bad)?
