Actually, I do understand that you're annoyed that people are doing your think.
I lived in a bubble for years, almost never going online to read about Buffy, perhaps a couple of interviews or two was read. In Sweden, Buffy was aired late late at night, and I had to buy the seasons, because they had countless re-reuns on season 1-3. Then all of a sudden, I find out that Buffy is super-popular in France, England and most of all The US.
I thought I was special! Buffy, Willow & Xander were bullied outcatst, like me, and I thought the show was too. I was mad, but then I got so happy that I had so many people to finally talk about Buffy with.
Hopefully that will happen to you too. And in the end, only the true fans will stay, when the wannabes have a new popular show/movie to read. Hopefully, because of the movie, new "true" fans will find the book.

Who cares? The logic behind reading a book right before the movie comes out is simple. Once the movie comes out, every time a person reads the book from that point on, they'll picture the actors and setting of the movie when they read. When they get a chance to read the book first, they have a chance to imagine it all in their heads and then compare it with the movie when they see it. Not at all annoying.

I read this book when it first came out, and I thought it was okay, but the series got progressively worse. Yet still, I own all 4. O.o

Look at it this way, if other people didn't read the books then the sales would be bad. If sales are bad they would not publish anymore books in the series and you would be sad. Get over it!

Nope. doesn't bother me at all. I find it better since the books are usually better than the movies. Plus you get into the story more when you read. And it expands your vocabulary. Ya know?
