I am getting really mad. Every other person at my school is reading Twilight now! I read 'em all BEFORE the movie was announced. And everyone trying to be in the 'circle of what's in' is annoying me. I don't care if Twilight wasn't big, I would still like it.

hmm. I dunno I dont really see a lot of movies that were books before lol It's more annoying because I myself dont see the appeal of twighlight. I read books on real things and on history, I reserve my fantasy for films and tv.

There's no way you could have read the entire series before the movie was announced, since the last book was only released a couple of months ago. That said, what does it matter when people picked up the books? Instead of wanting to be special, go discuss the merits of the books with others. What actually peeves me is how little people read these days.

Maybe they're doing it to be cool, maybe the don't want to miss out on something that other people enjoy and they might too.
Either way, illiteracy is a problem. This is a solution.

Who gives a shit whether they read them or not?
Quit worrying about everyone around you, and worry about yourself. It seems like this whole situation is getting to you. I feel like you think you read them first therefore it makes you better than everyone who is barely starting to get into these books.

Lol. I read the first book before it even CAME OUT, and certainly before it was vogue. I was into it for like a year but the second book was an incredible disappointment. Though the sudden popularity is mildly annoying, just try to ignore it. It'll die down once the movie is released.

It'll die down once the movie is released. Are you suggesting that the movie is going to be horrible? Coz I've friends who are riding on a high that the movie may actually be good. Personally, I haven't read the book, but the actor playing the lead, not as hot as I'd imagined. Cedric Diggory never quite did it for me.

No, I dont feel better. xD It's just that it was kinda my thing at school to be into this type of reading. And then others started to read it, and I was happy to have someone to talk about it with. But then it was EVERYONE in my school. :/ By the way, I wanna comment your avatar, it is coolio. xD

Well, I certainly hope it's not going to be horrible (because I plan on seeing it myslf) but I can't imagine that the hype will keep going for too long after it's in theatres. Unfortunately, I just have low expectations. The series of books hasn't gone a way that I'm happy with, and I'm fairly sure that the movies will mirror that.

it makes me kinda mad that EVERYONE and their mother is reading Twilight now, but i'm more happy that it's getting the exposure it deserves. i know the movie won't be as good as the book, but i still can't wait to see it. i agree with wenxina that Rob isn't how i imagined Edward. Stephenie tried to use the exscuse that he looks different in everyone's mind, but i still don't think anyone pictured Cedric Diggory. i still remember how everybody hated him in the beginning cuz he wasn't perfect-looking enough. for the most part that has died down and almost all the fans are in love with him now, but i still don't think he's that hot. (that's an improvement tho since at first i kept calling him ugly.) but i don't mind new ppl reading it so much b/c i'm so secure in my fandom: i have yet to meet a person in real life as obsessed with Twilight as i am.

these books are not the illeratacy answer lol the classics are. 'Classics' are more often than not outdated crap that people keep reading because they're too lazy to read anything new (*cough my English professor cough*).

hopefully you'll remember you said that when you're old...and you'll laugh at yourself just like I did.
depressing that timeless classics both novels and poems are seen as "dated".
they were ahead of their time, which influences their longevity. No one will think of these twilight books in 30 years. I promise you.
