"Inventive, smartly written, nicely acted and beautifully shot... better than Lost, fresher than 24" The Observer
LONDON -- October 12, 2007 -- Heroes is the hit BBC television series from executive producer/creator Tim Kring that has taken the world by storm. Having paid homage so heavily to comic books in the look and feel of the show, Tim Sale, the artist behind the series' iconic paintings, has teamed up with a host of other star creators to produce HEROES [Titan Books, 23 November 2007, 17.99lbs], through a licensing agreement with Universal Studios Consumer Products Group.
Heroes is an epic drama that chronicles the lives of ordinary people who discover they possess extraordinary abilities. A colossal success on both sides of the Atlantic, television series Heroes follows a disparate group of people across the United States and the world as they discover that they have superhuman powers, and find their destinies colliding as they struggle to avert a global catastrophe. With its tagline of 'Save the Cheerleader, Save the World' the revelation of which made Variety's 'top ten dramatic TV moments of the year' it has been the number one must-see show of 2007, and picked up a host of awards including a People's Choice Award and nominations in the Golden Globes and Emmys.
"One of the more memorable relationships in Season One was Hiro's first love, the waitress Charlie. We were as smitten as Hiro by that story and seized the chance to tell the full adventure of Hiro's six months in the past. Aury Wallington was hand picked by the writers of the show for her brilliant voice for these characters. The novel is a welcome addition to the Heroes family," said Tim Kring, creator-executive producer, Heroes.
"Heroes is simply the neatest fantasy on TVClassic, clean-lined TV." Entertainment Weekly
HEROES presents a collection of comic-book stories that take readers further into the characters' world, exploring the history and mythology of the heroes, revealing backstories and introducing new characters not seen in season one, all gloriously illustrated by top artists including Michael Turner (Justice League of America) and Phil Jiminez (The Invisibles). Featuring a stunning cover from award-winning comics legend Alex Ross, a previously unpublished gallery of Tim Sale's stunning artwork from the series, and introductions by the show's creator Tim Kring and time-bending star Masi Oka (Hiro Nakamura), this is the ultimate companion for fans of the series and the perfect introduction for the as-yet uninitiated!
