Maybe its just because Buffy Season 8 is just easier to read, but does anyone find Angel After The Fall and Spike After The Fall really confusing and hard to follow?
Maybe someone should write the story so far...

No, not at all... I find it much easier to read than Buffy ... I am a bit behind in Buffy so I will have to read it again because it is a bit confusing. but the only reason I would find Buffy easier to read it's because knowing that not all my fav's are going to die .

Nope - problem at all:) What aspect of it are you finding hard to follow?
As for the Buffy - I stopped reading 12 issues or so back, so I cant say anything except I found it hard to read only cos I didnt like it!

Nope not confusing at all. Have you been following it from the start and have read every issue? I don't understand how it can be hard to follow. It's just reading. Do you find the art off putting or some of the dialogue out of charatcer? I have got to admit I was skeptical at first when they announced ATF and was still against it whilst I was reading it but then I got to issue 3 and I was all for it. I've read every issue and have gotten the Hard Back collections as well. I am really looking forward to reading the entire collection of After The Fall all together with no month breaks or ad's once it's all finished.

I haven't found either series to be confusing.

I haven't found ATF confusing at all. The only time I remember that I had to stop and think was issue 9. Something about the Lords' destruction confused me.

Ya me too:) Once issue 17 comes out I plan to have a day where I watch 'Power Play' followed by 'Not Fade Away', then start reading the First Night HC, followed by the Spike:AtF hardcover, and then read Angel:AtF from start to finish:) so I get the story from start to finish! Nerdy.....moi?

The writing hasn't confused me, but a few times I have missed stuff because of the art. Sometimes it's a little too dark and abstract, issues 9, 10 and 14 especially.

#14? Really? I thought Mooney, already a great artist, got better with each issue. What was unclear in #14?

A atf is not confusing to me, but Angel atf is more confusing than season 8.
One reason could be that Buffy is broken down into smaller arcs, while After the fall is one arc. Maybe if they had divided the story differently and Atf wrapped up quicker you could keep track of things better. Season 8 and Atf is told differently, one adventure per arc/stand alone.
Also, in Atf, there are more references and "clues" to thing to come than in Buffy. Atf is more of a mystery.

It wasn't as bad issues 9 and 10, but the whole part with the demons and the alter and the demony background had me scratching my head for a couple seconds... too crowded. And it wasn't Mooney, more the coloring, everything blended in together.

i just think to be honest, the writing on Angel was... i don't wanna say "better" than on Buffy, but it was just more... adult? like it was more complex in the way of it's about people who are kind of grown up as opposed to high school writing (not that i'm describing buffy as "High school" quality, just the writing has to do with high shcool, like ever after season 3, they dealt with issues that are more, oh let's say teenage-ish?
maybe that's just me?

The only thing I'm confused about in After The Fall is why the Senior Partners made Angel's tattoo disappear. But other than that, everything seems crystal clear to me.

I think Brian and the others forgot about the tattoo and then they came up with the SP-disliking-the-tattoo-explanation i just think to be honest, the writing on Angel was... i don't wanna say "better" than on Buffy, but it was just more... adult? like it was more complex in the way of it's about people who are kind of grown up as opposed to high school writing (not that i'm describing buffy as "High school" quality, just the writing has to do with high shcool, like ever after season 3, they dealt with issues that are more, oh let's say teenage-ish? maybe that's just me? I agree. As a friend of mine once said "Buffy is a show about growing up and Angel is a show about being a grown up". Not that teenagers trying to act adult and adults trying to act their age don't have a lot of life issues in common, but still. For one thing, the humour was very different on the shows. Without Xander's jokes and Buffy's blonde-ish comebacks, Buffy would have felt a lot more dark as well.

I have had issue with ATF but I recommend re-reading in a row. It makes a lot more sense that way! And also read each issue at least twice, because first time through I tend to just read and glance at pictures, 2nd time through I take time to look at the art in detail - which helps! I haven't had any trouble at all with Buffy 8. I love it so so much.

Sometimes if I didn't get it, I just skipped the part. Haha.
