I don't know if there is anyone on this board from around Toronto but the Fan Expo convention is this weekend and none other than Miss Cordelia Chase herself, Charisma Carpenter will be there! I'm so excited to meet her. She'll be doing an autograph session, a photo op session and an Intimate and Interactive discussion for the fans. Unfortunately I'm going to miss the I and I. Darnit.
I met Juliet Landau there last year. SO COOL. :ecstatic:

I was there, and was actually really disappointed with the whole Charisma Carpenter. FanExpo is known for being poorly organized and often the autograph sessions turn into problems, but this year things went really smoothly. I was impressed .... until Charisma Carpenter.
The line was organized well, I was maybe 50th in line, but then she was 30 mins late and they have less then 2 scheduled hours to get 500 people(it was rumored she sold out her auto. tickets, which were 500). So they rushed everyone through like cattle. You got up to the table she was at, you were kept about a foot away, handed the first FanExpo guy your ticket and what you wanted signed, he handed it to her handler (i guess) who literally throw whatever it was in front of her, She quickly signed and would get a few words out before they pushed you along and out of the way. I guess this could work if you just wanted to have a photo signed, but you didn't get to have even a moment with her to say anything or for her to even really acknowledged you.
What upset me about this is I had done a custom for her to sign. Her scene when she first walks into Prom, and had a gym floor base with some balloons glued on, etc. The guy throws it in front of her - if I had done any sculpting it would have broke - and she was really confused cause I didn't get to explain. I had to really quickly try and explain, before I was ushered along, I made Buffy customs and I made this one of Cordy from Prom, and showed her the figure I was holding that went with the base. Once I showed her the figure she understood and signed the base, although the guy didn't give it to her right, so she signed it kind of awkwardly.
The whole things just left a really bad taste in my mouth. I've either met, or been with people when they meet a number of guests, and you don't get to have a 10 mins conversation, but you still get to have you moment with them. With the exception of seeing her sign in person, it was really as personal as buying an autographed photo.

That sucks! She has been horrible about being late to things. She was supposed to have a chat a few weeks ago, and she was late, or maybe missed, that. And it had already been rescheduled, cause she missed the first scheduling! And that was online! No driving!

JBrow, I'm so sorry to hear that. That's just unfair to the fans who wait and wait and then miss out because the star shows up late. The worst part is how they didn't even let you speak to her. That's what attending these conventions are all about: the fans getting to meet their favorite stars.

I actually had a much better experience with her JBrow. But I agree with you about the line ups and the way it was handled. I never knew there would be that many people! It was so quick! But anyways, I got her to sign my picture and everyone was getting her to sign the same pictures that were sold at the table but mine was different and she looked up and asked said "this is old! Where did you get this?" and I pointed over to the retail area and said "i bought it over there" smooth, Melissa. Anyways I did get a word in and I said " I just wanted to say that I LOVE YOU!!!" And she smiled and said thanks! DREAM COME TRUE. Not the most original thing to say, but it was the spur of the moment so meh. Here is my autograph and some pictures my boyfriend got of her signing it and my Welcome Home Cordelia Sideshow figure. :ecstatic: Charisma signing my autograph and my Sideshow figure: Hope you all like the pictures!

I actually met her again today, and had an AMAZING experience.
They ended up adding three hours of signing today, to kind of make up for how things went yesterday. So I met her again. I had to pay for another autograph, and I didn't have my custom, so I bought a Moore ornament and had her sign it, but this time went great. I got to actually talk to her, and ask her some questions, and get a photo with her. Plus, right before I went up to her, she had asked one of the staff to get Malcolm McDowell's autograph on her Clockwork Orange poster, and while I was talking to her, the guy came up and was talking to her about how Malcolm was on a break and wouldn't be back till after she had left, and she was talking about how long she could stay, because she really wanted his autograph, it was just cool.
An AMAZING experience that erased the bad from yesterday.

That is cool! I love when stars want other stars' autographs. Thats funny.
I'm so glad you had a better experience with her.
Were there many people in line today?
I was so sad because I didn't get to go the intimate and interactive with her or the photo op cause my boyfriend had to go to a stag party. It sucked. Wah. :xp:

I was so sad because I didn't get to go the intimate and interactive with her or the photo op cause my boyfriend had to go to a stag party. It sucked. Wah. It was nothing like Saturday (thank god), but it was still busy/active. There was always about 30+ people in line constantly for the 3 hours, and it moved at a great pace. You weren't rushed when you got to her, and you weren't waiting in line for hours. I didn't end up actually getting in line until like 2:30 because I was debating a lot in my head. When I found out about the signing, originally I wasn't going to bother since I'd already paid $25 for her autograph and I didn't have/couldn't find anything I would want signed. I finally decided I had to go because I wasn't going to let Saturday be my experience meeting her, so I got the ornament because I wanted her to sign something from Buffy rather then Angel. I'm so glad I did, and overall I spent no more money then most. If I'd gotten the autograph and photo op, I'd have paid $65 anyway and had basically the bad experience from yesterday. This way I got 2 autographs, the ornament (although I don't know if I'm going to keep the ornament since I already have the first autograph and I don't really collect ornaments except the Moore Dru ones) and a photo with her that was more personal to me, since it followed the nice little time I had with her. I like to think that sundays session was added because she requested it, since Saturday was so rushed and she didn't get to actually meet her fans.

OMG guys, its so neat to see that people on here went to the Fan Expo. It was a dream come true for me, though I didn't get a pic of her signing my Season 2 Angel, I got a video like last year with Juliet. I was kinda peturbed too about the assembley line of signing autos. It was so fast my friend could't even get a good video of us.
It all turned around when I saw her Q&A, BEST Q&A EVER!! OMG she is so funny, I was so suprised that she was talking so much, I figured she was tired and she was gonna be like throw me the questions and answer them short. She didn't I had the best time for a Buffy celeb!
I hope everyone else got to her Q&A.

Wah. I'm so sad I didn't get to go to her Q&A. Darn my boyfriend and his familial obligations. Shouldn't my total obsession for all things Buffy come first? I think so! Hey Maverick I just noticed you are from Hamilton, me too!
