womenchildren.booksense.comPosted at the Bookstores website: Join us on the fourth Sunday of the month at 2pm to discuss the smart, funny, and feminist Buffy the Vampire Slayer! We watch a few episodes and often read an essay or two that relates in preparation for discussion. Previous topics discussed have included the theme of family in the Buffyverse, Xander--the heart of the Scoobies, and the creepy, but brilliant episode "Hush". Our next meeting will be on Sunday, September 23, at 2pm, and we will be discussing the relationship between knowledge and power in the Buffyverse. To Watch: "Prophecy Girl" (season 1 episode 12) "Goodbye Iowa" (season 4 episode 14) "Checkpoint" (season 5 episode 12) "End of Days" (season 7 episode 21) If you don't have the time to watch or access to all of the episodes and readings, don't worry, join us for discussion anyway. We're all fans who just want to talk about the show we love--You'll fit right in! Buffy and Angel dvds are available for rental at Women & Children First. I realize that Sept 23 already happened but they do this every last Sunday of the month with a new topic. They haven't posted the next one yet.

Women and Children First a very good bookstore on North Clark in Chicago. Their discussion group is continuing tomorrow, Jan. 27, with the theme being "Obsessions", and the episodes to watch are Passion, Beauty and the Beasts, I was Made to Love You and Dead Things. Sorry for overlooking this message for so long.
