I love "Spaced" and I enjoyed watching the UK "The Office" as well, although I much prefer the American version (although it is hard to compare them at this point because they really are different shows).
Other than that the only shows I have seen are "Torchwood" and "Primeval." "Torchwood" is pretty boring, I couldn't get passed a few episodes, but "Primeval" is a lot of fun. I am really looking forward to the 3rd season/series.

um sorry but I think its really insulting when brits say that their tv is lost on Americans (I know its not just you, I read it EVERYWHERE). we just have different senses of humor. I love british television shows. My mom loves them. I sit my friends down and let them watch box sets and netflixed shows and they love them.
The problem is that US networks rarely offer us anything that isnt from the states. Otherwise we'd watch lots of shows. My mom grew up on french shows in new york and says A LOT of people watched those stations instead of ours.
anyway!! I love the older shows like Red Dwarf and Keeping up appearances. Catherine Tate and abfab are my two shows I wont miss for anything. My Family is also really funny. I still pray Spaced will make a triumphant return.

I guess uk humour is lost on some people over there, if it's so hard to see any of it on TV. Tis a shame. Not sure if Spaced will ever see that return, but new Red Dwarf is in production.

I'm not going to get into a big US TV vs UK TV debate, that is kind of pointless in my opinion.
I didn't know that there was new Red Dwarf in production? Even if it is only a small amount, that's great! I sort of gave up following Red Dwarf news with the movie having so many stops and starts, but I'm really looking forward to this. I remember when I was a really young kid Red Dwarf was my favourite show on TV and I would wait for new episodes every week. I was about 6 or 7 at the time and a lot of the jokes went over my head so it's great watching the episodes again. I remember one time I actually got a stool and put it infront of the microwave in my kitchen and set the timer on the microwave to one hour and 30 minutes (which was the amount of time until Red Dwarf started) and then I sat there watching it for the full period.
You do crazy things when you're a kid.

I doubt new Spaced will ever happen, everyone has sort of moved on. Many of the people are working in Hollywood now, and I think it's just been too much time and Simon/Jessica/Edgar are smart enough not to take a chance ruining something loved by so many. On the DVD there is a lovely little clip at the end of a documentary on it that has a sort of continuation on where the characters are at, I dont know if anyone has seen that.
One British comedy show I want to also mention is Coupling, that show was absolutely brilliant. Written by Stephen Moffat who is about to take over Doctor Who, if any of you haven't seen it and are looking for a great comedy, check it out. And for those of you who do know it, HOW AWESOME IS IT?!?!

When most people say British TV is lost on Americas, is it implying that American's are too stupid to like British TV? I don't get the impression that's what you are saying henz, but that what I feel many people seem to think. I like some British TV, and some I think is uninteresting, just like American TV. I tend to shy away from comedies because I think the humor is a different brand. I watched a few episodes of "Little Britain" (mostly for Tony Head) and I only found it mildly amusing, while my friend from Norway thinks it is hilarious. I think it has to do with the type of humor you were raised on. My wife grew up watching Faulty Towers and Red Dwarf, I grew up watching the Brady Bunch and Diff'rent Strokes.

spaced will happen. these guys thrive on continuing the comedy they became famous for. Pegg is hopefully realizing that he is not Hollywood material. Thankfully the other cast members knew from the start they werent!
Little Britain takes some getting used to. Its one of those shows where you really have to be in the mood to watch it.

Nah I was more refering to types of humour. I find American comedy much more loud and broad than british stuff generally, and don't really find it funny except for Scrubs. I hate Little Britain with a passion. Never found it funny at all. I'm not going to get into a big US TV vs UK TV debate, that is kind of pointless in my opinion. And for those of you who do know it, HOW AWESOME IS IT?!?! Channel "Dave" have comission new Dwarf. It's not filming yet but it's happening. Last I heard Rob Lewelyn was being cast for a new Kryten mask. I think there's only an hour long special (as well as a new accompanying documentary and clip show) but there's always the possibility of more after if it does well. I'm glad Doug Naylor finally gave up of getting a movie done. It was never big screen material. Coupling is indeed awesome. I remember being like the only person at school who watched it. Everyone else watched Friends *pfft* I never saw series 4 without Geoff though. I don't think I could picture the show without him. spaced will happen. these guys thrive on continuing the comedy they became famous for. Pegg is hopefully realizing that he is not Hollywood material. Thankfully the other cast members knew from the start they werent! I'm not so sure, but I think I heard Jessica Stevenson will have a more substantial role in part 3 of Pegg/Frost/Wright's "blood and ice cream" trilogy. Scifi end of the worldy or something. Hope it lives up to Shaun and Fuzz.

If you haven't seen the series "Nighty Night" you should. It's typical black British humor, very politically incorrect, dirty and very offensive. If you want a taste, watch this clip. I've got to admit, as a brit, I find some of our TV shows humiliating! Some of the older stuff is very good though, like Red Dwarf, Only Fools and Horses, Ab Fab, The Vicar of Dibley and Father Ted.
I've tried watching stuff like The Royle Family, Little Britain and Shameless but I don't find it funny at all. Maybe British humour is also lost on me (a brit!) lol
The only British show on nowadays that I will watch religiously is Doctor Who.

My Family is one of my favourite British comedy shows Well alot of the TV I watch is British seing as I live in the UK. But the british channels seem to show loads of American TV and I love that too. And sometimes I watch Irish TV on the Irish channels. Seing as I am in Northern Ireland I get both the UK and Irish TV channels.
