Anyone else excited about this new show from The Office creators? Parks & Recreation was supposed to premiere during the Super Bowl this year, but was delayed because of the writer's strike.
Here's the promo that aired during the Super Bowl:
Amy Poehler is hilarious, and I am really looking forward to this!

also, i heard that Aziz from Human Giant and Scrubs (the intern who kept texting during rounds and Dr. Cox fired) is gonna be in it, but i heard that when the idea was still an office spin off.

So is this the "Office Spinoff" that everyone was taking about? Snizapman-you mentioned "when the idea was still an Office spin off".

yes, this was originally an office spin off, that's why Rashida Jones was in the trailer... it was to star Rashida Jones (Karen), Aziz, and Amy Poheler... but i think they abandoned "the office" part to the show.

It looks just like The Office, only not in an office.
Regardless, I'll definitely tune in. It looks hilarious! I love Gob's wife Amy Poehler.

Amy Poehler is a comedic genius.
I hold an unpopular opinion regarding The Office, I found the American version incredibly funny, while the British version tedious and uninteresting.
I think this show will be great, and it's good that Amy Poehler finally has her own show. She deserves much better than "Baby Mama".
"I thought the slide was too fast, so I put in speed bumps."
If it's anything like the American "The Office", it will surely be a personal favourite.

the only thing i have against the american office is that for the first 2 seasons, 90% of the storylines were copied from the british office.

the only thing i have against the american office is that for the first 2 seasons, 90% of the storylines were copied from the british office. Ricky Gervais is an executive producer of the U.S. version, so it wasn't like they just copied the story lines without his permission, they were inspired by them, and worked with him to make the show it's own separate beast.

right, i'm just saying, it was a little disappointing. i thought Greg Daniels was the consulting producer from the UK office?

Why do so few people see this? I have developed a theory. Good UK show -> US adaptation = fail, therefore bad UK show -> US adaptation = Win!

Looks like only 2 writers/producers are carrying over from The Office, which had like a dozen. Hope it stands up well. Amy Pohler can do a lot with a little... so at least the show has that

I expected it to be funnier, but I did enjoy it and I'm looking forward to the next episodes, got some good laughs. Amy Poehler's playing Leslie really made this show, she's just so goddamn funny, huge smile and personality but she's so ridiculous. I still laugh when I think of the part with the kid pulling her hair on the playground and she has that smile on her face.
