My subject is based off "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie". LOL
My aunt and I are on Disc 6 of Season 3 of angel (we're watching like 3-4 discs every weekend) and she's going on and on about Angel drinking so much blood for no reason when he's never shown drinking it so much before (This is disc 5). I honest to God didn't remember why he was drinking so much. But of course it was tainted with Connor's blood to make it look like The Father Really Would Kill the Son. But she just kept going on and on and on...
Anyways... Do you think Angel would have really killed Connor? Remember he kept yelling at him to shut up.

I wondered about that myself. He really was flipping out, so I suppose he might have.
I got the basic idea that human blood was really, REALLY tasty for vamps in the Buffyverse, but I didn't know that a little taste of it would throw Angel all out of whack and make him go nuts on his sona nd people around him. I get the idea that he has tasted some and is craving it, but the outburst seems disproportionate to the extremely tiny amount he must be getting, considering the vial of Connor's blood was quite small (perhaps 200ml at most).
Angel *has* tasted human blood on occasion, if I remember correctly, and I don't remember him ever flipping out to the point where he was going to murder someone to taste the rest.
As much as I love the show, that Connor-tainted pig's blood seemed like a weak thread to pull in order to make Angel unravel.

I see where you're coming from, but what added on to his urge was that what he was drinking was right there next to him 24/7 almost. He was always around it, and wanting it more and more.
EDIT
It being Connor's blood.

Yah, I get that, to a degree...
I can't remember any specifics, because it's late and my brain is fried from photoshopping, but I seem to recall him having bitten other people from his immediate group without that happening. But perhaps it being his son's blood makes the connection that much stronger.
But, what it comes down to, is based on the way the writers portrayed it... yah, I think he would have sunk his teeth in and drank himself a Capri Son.

From how we saw Angel acting, he may have drank from Connor. As much as his conscious may have not told him not to, his blood lust may have won. Prior to Angel drinking Connor's blood, Angel drank from Buffy & Kate. They are the humans I can recall that he drank from since '73... if you don't include Angelus' bite fests. I agree that the close proximity of Connor would have made it harder for Angel. I don't think he'd want to harm his son. However, his primal instincts may have taken over. He may have fed on Connor. I would love to say that Angel could never feed off his son. However, we saw how drinking Connor's blood altared Angel's behavior. I can't say that he wouldn't. His blood lust may have overwhelmed him. Unfortunately, I can decide on an answer. I could see Angel taking either path. Damn the bloodlust of a Vampire! *lol*

The way I saw it
Angel would have eventually gone for Connor because of his prolonged exposure to the blood. He'd been feeding on his blood for so long that Connor smelt like food. Also the risk was greater as his son happens to have superpower miracle baby blood which gave Angel a buzz. Kinda like when Angel drank Hamilton's blood in Not Fade Away.

That really does tip the scale sin favor of Angel losing it and feeding on Connor and why he had gotten so irritable. -numfar
