Buffy: From now on, every girl in the world who might be a slayer, will be a slayer. Every girl who could have the power, will have the power...can stand up, will stand up. Slayers, everyone of us. Make your choice. Are you ready to be strong?
If there is indeed an age where a potential stops being a potential then it could be said that once they have passed that age then they wouldn't be one "who might be a slayer" anymore and therefore wouldn't be called.
Everything I've seen seems to indicate a potential can't be called until she hits puberty. And that would make me think that the expiration date on being a potential might be menopause. But as has been stated we haven't met anyone past 25ish so I'm not sure.

no... she couldn't have been called after buffy's second death because after her first death, Buffy's death no longer affected the Slayer Line... only Faith or Kendra's deaths would.

Buffy wouldn't have had the slayer abilties if she wasn't involved with the line of power. I dunno, I think that after her death, she really didn't affect the slayer line. I know that she still had her slayer strength and everything else that came with being a slayer, but that might have been because she only died for such a short amount of time. Just enough time to have another slayer called, but not enough time to remove her slayer strength?

wasn't she gone for around 142 days or something (i'm not so good with spike quotes) But in Helpless Giles stopped her abilities in a matter of days. That was the second time she died. She had no affect to the slayer line already because she had already died a first time. She died in Prophecy Girl.. remember? The Master bit her, and then she drowned. Xander brought her back to life, but she was gone long enough for another slayer (Kendra) to be called. Once Kendra died in Becoming, Faith was called. As for the slayer strength after she died, I mean.. what's the point of taking away a slayers ability if they're already dead? I'm assuming those guys who gave a slayer her powers didn't think that a slayer would come back from the dead. LOL.

Yes i know when she died the first time lol, i just the first time she was dead for barely 5 minutes, but when she turned 18 the drugs repressed her powers untill they stopped working. When she died 2nd time the powers could have moved on to Justine. But this is assuming there is one essence of the demons that transfers from person to person when one dies. I think there is no fixed answer, maybe Joss wanted us to run around each other and laugh on his throne, who knows Plot holes, plot holes. :broody: lmfao.

in an interview on what would season 6 hold in store since buffy died Joss said that only Faith's death would affect the slayer line... not Buffy's death... i believe he said something to the effect of "Buffy is A Slayer and Faith is THE Slayer and only her death would call a new slayer."

Yes, and if i'm recalling correctly, I think someone mentioned this in S7.

I think it's like Buffy only lost one ability and that was that her death couldn't call another slayer again because that's the only ability that was vital to keeping the slayer line going so when she died the first time that's all that left her. A well written theory I found is here stormwreath.livejournal.com/1442.html It covers from the first slayer all the way down to the potentials being activated and is well thought out.

plus the council would have a record of her right? i assume they would contact wes and be like "Yo, dude there's another slayer out in your neck of the woods" but in a much more stuff, british way.

If Justine was indeed a Slayer, then Wes really has crappy luck with them. That would make 2 Slayers who have tried to kill him. Lovely odds.

I dunno. If two Slayers had tried to kill me without success, I'd call that fantastic luck.

Escaping alive, yes, lucky. But being the target of two Slayers... that's pretty crummy luck. But then again... no real evidence that indicates that Justine was a Slayer.

I find Justine's character more interesting if she isn't a slayer. I actually liked the development going on with her. Although she wasn't on the right side, at least she was being proactive and trying to fight off vampires. She reminded me a bit of Gunn's character. I think people of LA were a lot more aware and willing to accept the fact that vampires and monsters were real rather than Sunnydale. (Minus the sudden Lets Worship Harmony and Vampires club that has sudden arised in season eight.)
