What is Karma? How do you get it? Why do you get it/not get it/lose it? Is more good? Who decides? Lol, so confused, so thought I should ask? So sorry if there is a topic on this already. I tried searching.

Karma, also known as reputation is a very basic point system. We give all members a base starting number of 100, upon registration and making your first post. From then on, you can add or subtract to other members' points and they can do the same to you. Here are some very honest answers about karma/rep and how it works, and why you might see your number going up (or down): Typical Reasons to give someone a point: (add)- A great post, comment, or otherwise in any discussion. If you feel like giving kudos, feel free! - Appreciating someone else's artwork, custom figure, or literary work (fan-fic, poetry, etc) - If a member wins in a forum game, and you feel like giving them a reputation boost - You just plain like this person and want to add to their reputation here on the forum! Typical reason(s) for smiting someone, and taking away a point: (subtract)- You do not like a post, comment or otherwise that they made in a discussion thread. Other that this reason, I do not think it's fair to abuse the point system and take people's points down for no reason! An important fact to remember is that I see all actions of the members here, and I do monitor if people abuse this system. So save yourself the embarrassment people, and just be fair. Also, we award reputation points from time to time in contests and forum games as well! If we see you do something neat, be sure that you're numbers will skyrocket.

Yes, you can't do it right away. There is a wait period between Karma actions.

Yes, you can't do it right away. There is a wait period between Karma actions. I believe it's an hour.

^ Oh thanks guys. Why is it an hour? I don't know this for a fact, but I think it has something to do with too much of a good thing. Limiting how many times posters can give/take karma in a day cuts down on people gaining/losing large amounts of karma in a short amount of time. The less you can use it, the more valuable it becomes.

I hate that it is an hour lol. I always have to say "I will give you karma in a little while because I ran out" lol
