I don't know if there are any Brazillians on the forum but I thought I would post this anyway.
Tv Globo are going to be airing the show [Dollhouse] in Brazil, although they've still not said when it'll start.

Will this make Dollhouse, most likely, better off for a second season then just airing in the U.S.?

Im guessing it will. The ratings were not too great in the US and yet the UK and Brazil are still going to air it. This is proof that although its not getting alot of viewers at the moment there is still alot of potential for a show of its kind

Well... I'm sure this is great for Fox, wich is making the money and paying for Dollhouse and, let's hope, for a second season. But for us brazilian... TV Globo is what you could say is the best public open tv station here in Brazil, but although I never did watch Angel or Buffy there, I remember people saying they had it sliced and cut out a lot of stuff from each episode - from end credits and openings to interludes and other "small scenes" you know are missing just by paying attention. Besides, they never air series on a pratical hour: last I heard, they had one of buffy's latest unaired season going on like 4 o'clock in the morning! On a week day! Thing is, they already have every slot filled and many shows they produce themselves (wich also can't break the mold, and airs really late at night). It's possible they probably bought the show because A: Fox is selling it "cheap" (perhaps they don't have faith in it and want to profit as much as they can before other people realize that it's gonna sink?) and most likely B: so no other brazilian station would have it (not that these other stations would give it the proper respect). I mean, Globo might even buy the show and not air it for a long time or, at all. Either way I'm sure the show will be on cable before Globo - and *that* will decide if the Dollhouse will come public here (and generate interest in buying the second season). Well, I haven't been watching television lately so I haven't seen anything about this (just checked some blogger who never saw the show saying bad things about it due to first episode's ratings), but IF it airs on Tv Globo, it's probably next year, before Big Brother airs, sometime between january and february, after the late hour news (weekdays, over midnight). Either way, I guess it's good news for the show.

Either way, I guess it's good news for the show. Well, this news really didn't make me happy at all. First of all, Globo REALLY doesn't care for foreign shows. Their original programs are mostly crap, but they are the ratings' kings. The only thing they seem to be interested about is 24 and Lost, which they transmit every year. Other than those, Globo is tv shows' hell. Buffy was transmited in mid 90's. Angel's first season was first transmited in a 2-episodes-edited-as-one system, sometime around 2000, which was hideous. And some time ago they were transmiting Angel's later seasons reaaally early, like 4 or 5am. So, we have Fox, and Dollhouse will be shown on Fox first, indeed. But Globo buying it means that people who can't watch Fox probably won't be watching Dollhouse on broadcast tv.
