Very good news indeed! While I thought Spider-Man 3 didn't match up to the first two, I still loved it. Can't wait for the next two!
They mentioned potential villains in the next movie - the Spider Slayer(s)? I immediately thought of Buffy facing off with Spider-Man, hahaha.

The Spider-Man series has always been pretty hit or miss with me. The first was a little too campy, the second was fantastic, and I wish the third could be erased from my memory. Sam Raimi is a fantastic director though, so I am certainly interested in whatever he does next.

Cool! I thought the first two were great, the third... just no. No doubt I'll be seeing these though.

I loved the first 2, but I try to pretend the 3rd one doesn't exist. I'll definitely see 4 & 5, I just hope they will be better than 3.

I watch Spider-Man 3 solely for the Venom portion of the movie. I hate how quickly that story went by and how it really did not do any justice to Venom at all, but since Sam Raimi is still at the helm...it seems like that's all we're ever going to get out of Venom.

I posted this elsewhere and the reaction was surprisingly poor. I hate how many people rip on Raimi like the guy gave them cancer. 3 wasn't as good as 1 or 2 but you can put that down to a rushed script and studio interference; and yet people cry foul of Raimi like he wasn't involved with the first 2.

I'm not a huge fan of Spider-man, but I'm kinda glad they're still doing it. After all, that's more opportunities for great Marvel crossovers and team ups. Marvel makes the best comic book movies.

I can't wait for 4 and 5! I thought 3 was atrocious (especially the dance sequence), but 1 and 2 were great. Raimi really is a great director. I love the scenes where you can tell it's his directing, like during Dr. Octavius' surgery. It felt like I was watching Evil Dead for a second. Using his car as his cameo is a pretty cool Raimi calling card, too. When I saw Uncle Ben sitting in that car, I got a silly huge smile across my face.

I was never fussed over Raimi's return but I like Toby Maguire as Spiderman I was honestly looking at what other people can bring to the Spiderman scene. Spiderman 3 took a bad step and I think they need to do something to steer clear of this happening again. I know alot of it was down to the whole venom thing but still there was a lot of Spiderman 3 that I didn't like and it can't ALL be balmed on the fans pushing for Venom. Good news though on the returs...has anyone elses heard anything new about the Venom spin off movie??
