Source: BuddyTV
It's been more than one year since Oliver Queen left with his totally awesome Justice League on Smallville. Tonight, the Green Arrow makes his triumphant return to remind us all why a Justice League spin-off of Smallville would be the smartest thing Dawn Ostroff could possibly do.
Chloe (Allison Mack) is at the Daly Planet doing some crazy hacking stuff for someone late at night. A chick with short blonde hair wearing fishnets hurls a knife at Chloe. It's a stripper! It's a prostitute! No, it's the Black Canary! Our intrepid computer hacker runs away, asking her mystery man for assistance on the roof. Black Canary catches up to her, but not before Chloe's cavalry arrives in the form of the Green Arrow!
He pins Black Canary down, but when he shoots his second arrow, Black Canary uses her supersonic screaming ability to destroy it. She knocks Chloe down and steals the DVD Chloe burned of the hacked information.
At Kent farm, Clark (Tom Welling) and Lana (Kristin Kreuk) have a very awkward morning. Clark goes to whine about it to Chloe, and she's totally passive aggressive about it. He notices her face is injured, and she drops the bomb that she's doing some side work for Oliver “Green Arrow” Queen.
Clark barges into Oliver's clock tower apartment all self-righteous about putting Chloe in danger, but Oliver correctly points out that Clark does that every week with the women he cares about. They quickly kiss and make up to tackle the Black Canary situation.
Black Canary is dropping off the DVD to her employer, Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum). When she lets him know about Green Arrow, Lex gets crazy-eyed, wanting her to get him. The elder Luthor, Lionel (John Glover), tells Lana about Grant “Julian Luthor” Gabriel's death. This leads to a lot of power plays and guilt trips between Lana, Clark and Lionel.
Lois Lane (Erica Durance) is super bitchy to a right-wing, raven-haired correspondent named Dinah Lance. Dinah gives it back in spades, letting Lois know that her former beau the Green Arrow is back in town. Later Dinah breaks into Chloe's desk to see her last call was made to Oliver Queen.
Lois visits Oliver in the clock tower, and as usual, he's walking around without his shirt on. “This is gonna be harder than I thought.” That's what she said, literally and figuratively. She slaps him, he says he missed her, and she forgives him because he's super hot. Black Canary ruins the mood with hr scream, shattering all the glass. Oliver is unconscious, and Lois sees a green arsenal of weapons that was hidden behind the glass. She finally knows his secret but then gets punched out by Black Canary,
Oliver and Lois are tied up, and she's snarkily angry that he never told her he was the Green Arrow. Black Canary finally knocks her out, because her whining is annoying. She accuses Oliver of being a terrorist, and they debate which of them is fighting for justice.
Clark goes back to Chloe with the knowledge that the Black Canary must have been logged onto the Daily Planet's server, so Chloe deduces that it's Dinah Lance. She PhotoShops blonde hair onto the black-haired Dinah and Chloe suggests calling her the Yellow Raven. Very funny. Clark rushes off and also tries to convince Black Canary that he and Oliver are on the side of good, also to no avail. Her super scream combined with Clark's super hearing is not such a good combo for him.
Clark and Chloe rush to rescue Lois, who tries poorly to cover Oliver's exposed secret, despite the fact that Clark and Chloe knew months before. Oliver is missing. Black Canary is at Lex's, with a change of heart about who's good and who's not. Lex whips out his gun, then Green Arrow arrives to kick some butt. Clark arrives to save Black Canary. Lex is kind of upset, but what do you expect when you go up against three superheroes?
Back in his apartment, Lois and Oliver have a conversation about the secret identity business, and she's more mature about the whole situation this time around. He wants them to give being together another chance. She refuses. He really should've taken his shirt off again, that always works.
In her own apartment, Lois is drowning her sorrows in Rocky Road ice cream. Clark arrives to cheer her up. She's super sad because she can't be with guys who have great destinies that will always be put ahead of a romantic relationship.
Black Canary has requested a meeting on a roof with Clark and Oliver, then Dinah Lance arrives to apologize. Oliver convinces her to join his Justice League.
Finally, Lana packs up her things at Kent farm to go stay with Chloe for a few days. He lets her in on some of his dark secrets as one last plea for her to stay. He promises to regain her trust.
Next week on Smallville: Clark gets trapped inside Lex's mind.
