Yes. I know this is probably not necessary but I have been dying to get people's opinion about all this. My questions is, which continuation do you enjoy better "After the Fall" or "Aftermath". I should probably wait until "Aftermath" is finished before deciding but I think I've given up on the series.
Okay, so Angel: After the Fall was great at first. I loved the first volume where we started halfway in and learnt stuff that led the characters to where they were. "First Night" was were I started to get a bit eerie about it but as soon as the confrontation between Gunn and Angel came I decided to get back into it. Then came Cordelia and she is what made me read the rest of the series because of how it all wrapped up - Illyria in her truest form, Connor dying, Angel getting dusted. Then in the final issue of ATF I felt that everything tied together nicely, all the characters had moved on and everyone knew that Angel was a hero.
Now, reading Angel: Aftermath I find myself quite let down. I don't care about the art, just the story and even that doesn't keep me entertained. I get halfway through and go "I don't really want to read this but anything Angel related couldn't harm me."
I think Cordelia's storyline is over. Let her get on with her afterlife, I mean come on! I will continue to read Aftermath only if this next issue does justice. I want to get your opinion on the whole thing and which series you like better or would like more (seeing as Aftermath is not finished).
BTW: Looking forward to Drucilla issues XD

After the Fall > Aftermath, no question really.
I certainly don't hate Aftermath, but I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a severe drop in quality from AtF #17 and Aftermath #18.

I've only read one issue of Aftermath, but I love it. But, since I've only read one issue, I don't know enough to compare.

So far Aftermath can't even compare to the level of greatness After the Fall reached. Still three issues left though, and I still have some slight hope for improvement.

After the Fall > Aftermath
And maybe it's not fair to compare it since Aftermath is only 2/5's of the way through but if you look at it this way:
After the Fall #1-5 is still > Aftermath #1-2
And better by A LOT. There's no comparison, really. And if we remove the factor of AtF art being 1000x better than the Aftermath art, it's still better because Lynch is a better writer for the 'verse.
Lynch takes to the material the way Goddard took to Buffy in Season 7. The new kid on the block who runs with the ball and scores a touchdown during his first game.

The only reason I am interested in Aftermath is Cordelia's storyline (which does not have to be over, with good writing that is.) ... but After the Fall is better.

Aftermath made me sick. I REALLY hated it. I read til ish 19 and I just couldn't bear it. The art is terrible. It reminds me of the worst there is of Jim Lee's wannabes. Everyone is so busty and strong and there is muscles everywhere. And Angel likeness (as Connor's, Kate's, everyone's) is disturbingly bad. He's deformed! He looks like a mexican ultimate fighter. And Kate looks like Miss Marvel or something.
The art made me sick, but the story and the scripts also were a HUGE let down. The dialogues are terrible. After the Fall was amazing. Really, AFT to me is as good as the best Angel seasons out there. It was kinda confusing at times, but so was season 4 (and I love it). It really felt like the continuation of the show, just like Buffy season 8 can't feel more perfectly real as the post-tv season.
It's kinda clear that Aftermath is no longer canon. I'm a canon-freak, so it's good to know that Angel finally officially ended in a high note with ish 17. If Aftermath was canon, it would be the worst thing ever to be written in the Angel saga.
Anyways, I'll read Lynch's return, 'cause I try to read everything he writes in Angelverse, canon or not (just as I read Jane Espenson's stories on Buffy non-canon comics). The guy os just brilliant. Spike Asylum is amazing. But for me, well, it's REAL (canon) only when the one and only Buffyverse-God (Joss) decides what happens. And his name doesn't go on the cover of Angel comic anymore...

Well, the artist has done work on DC and Marvel, so he'd be used to drawing busty women and Hulk-like superheros, not Angel. Angel is vastly different from Marvel/DC

And Kate looks like Miss Marvel or something. Yes, I must admit, while I've defended the artwork of Aftermath somewhat (I don't like it, but it's not awful), whoever decided to dress Kate like that needs to be sat down and made to WATCH the programme. I don't need her to look like Elisabeth Rohm, but she needs to be recognisable and in-character.

Aftermath art is severely wrong for the characters and tone of the entire story. It's not bad art, it just doesn't fit the story. Since when does Kate Lockley wear belly-shirts? Since when is Angel's entire upper body chiseled sharper than a body-builder? Since when does Connor look exactly like a Cowboy Bebop character?
The story, not as good as AtF story, but not as bad as Aftermath art. Dialogue is alright, but doesn't capture the character's personality like Lynch did in AtF.
I'll still read because I like the overall arc that Aftermath is heading in, but yeah, AtF is 1348092758645074649587293546234205796254287342834 times better than Aftermath.

Aftermath sucks badly. The writing is off, the art is horrible. Need I say more?
