If Joss was still behind the show I'd watch it regardless if Eliza was in it or not, but having Eliza as the star is a great bonus. Even if Joss wasn't apart of the show I'd probably give it a try, it's an interesting concept that I'd want to see explored.

Definitely. Five words: Joss Whedon and Amy Acker. I'll always watch whatever Joss does, and I will always watch whatever Amy is in, but if we are talking about the actual merits of the show's premise, then yes, I still think I would watch it. It is somewhat similar to shows I have watched and enjoyed in the past like Dark Angel and Alias.
So let's go one step further and have no Whedonverse ties to Dollhouse whatsoever. No Joss, Eliza, Amy, or any directors/writers that have worked with Joss in the past. Hard to say I would definitely STILL watch it then, but I do think the premise of the show is interesting enough that I would check out the premiere.

Without any of the Whedonverse involved, it would be very difficult for me to watch the show. I do love the concept of the show, but I don't watch very much tv as it is! Especially since it's on Friday nights...but if any of the Whedonverse people are on it/involved with it, I would tune in.

I'd totally still watch it! In fact, I almost think Eliza is one of the weaker links on Dollhouse (she does a pretty good job, don't get me wrong, but there are a lot of other, better actors on the show). And I'd probably like it even more if Amy Acker were playing Echo.
Now, if you eliminated all Whedonverse ties altogether, to be honest, I'm not sure if I'd watch it. I wouldn't usually think to watch TV on a Friday night. Still, the premise is sort of my kind of thing (not as much as Buffy, Angel, and Firefly were, though), so I'd consider checking out an episode on Hulu or something.

Ditto, Spiked. I wouldn't cry if Eliza wasn't on Dollhouse. I think if she were written out and a stronger actress were to take on the central role (say for the second season?), I might enjoy Dollhouse more.
When I first heard of the plot of the show, I knew the premise would provide plenty of challenge to any actor, and I honestly wondered if Eliza could pull it off. She's doing a good job, no doubt, though I'm sure she's not getting it 100%.
Amy Acker has proven quite a talented actress, capable of making completely different characters work believably. I would love to see her as an Active, if not in the main role. I also think the actress who plays Sierra has shown equal talent, and could serve in that role.
PJ, you should add a poll to the OP.

I like Eliza too, but here's an idea considering the predicament the show is currently in: what if Echo is killed off on the show? From my understanding, the only reason Dollhouse is tied to the Fox network is because Eliza has an exclusive deal with them. So if Echo is killed off, couldn't Joss (and maybe even Eliza as the producer??) take the show elsewhere? Don't get me wrong, I would hate to see Eliza go....but I would be fine with that if it would allow Joss to pack his bags and take the show to another venue that would actually support him!

I would still watch, but I wouldn't be happy. I adore Eliza, I think she's awesome in the role.

I would watch it because of Whedon.
I don't think I've really watched any show that has had any Buffyverse alumni in. Also, I think another actress could play Echo as well (or maybe better) than Eliza.
If Whedon wasn't involved, its hard to know whether I would watch it. I think the premise of the show is really good but unless I read some reviews that it was really good I probably wouldn't watch it. As it is going to be on the sci-fi channel here it would probably mean I was less likely to watch it as well.

I'm watching for the Joss-factor. Eliza's a bonus, but she's not the reason I tuned in.

I am completely in love with Joss Whedon. While I think Eliza is amazing and is doing a great job on the show, if it hadn't been her I still would have watched it cause it's Joss.

If you mean, what if Eliza was never involved with "Dollhouse" while Whedon was -- yes.
If you mean, what if Eliza would annul her "Dollhouse" contract tomorrow -- not so much. The show is held on her shoulders too.
