Buffy Season 8 has been an amazing ride. But, as we know, every season comes to an end. This year we've seen some of the best stories ever told in the buffyuniverse ... with Dracula's hilarious return and a gilmpse into the future in which Willow's reign of darkness consumes her once again and Buffy no longer exists. With the season almost hitting its 30th issue it has finally hit me that this season will soon be over.
I wanted to open this thread up to you to here your ideas on who won't live to see season 9, some issue titles you think will be used for the next couple of issues, and pretty much big moments or key moments you want to happen before the season comes to a close. Let me start.... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deaths: Giles. Amy. Satsu. S9 Main cast: Buffy. Willow. Xander. Dawn. Oz. Faith. Title Issues: "35-40: Twilight Falls" or "Twilight" Key Moments: I think we will see the Giles/Buffy moment we've all wanted ever since season 7. There giant separation has been a good way of showing us how Giles can be in a situation like this, but if he dies, which I think he will, there will be a bittersweet moment between him and Buffy. I think the big battle will be between Twilight's camp and the slayers of the world. Riley will have an army of agents and it will be bigger than chosen and similar to "Graduation Day pt.2". They'll all gathered on separate fields, ready to run in and fight. Out come the weapons and in comes the KILLING. I don't want to talk about who I think Twilight is as there is a thread for that. Oh and Oz's temple to which everyone is staying at currently "retreat" will be destroyed and he joins them in stopping Twilight...therefor becoming a series regular for s9... BTW: What do you think about Faith biting the dust. i don't want her to die but I've been re-reading NFFY and the one-shot of her and get strange feelings about it..... So what do you want to see in the finale? |

While I don't want to see any good guys die (unlike some people around here  ), my predictions are: Xander, Giles, possibly Faith, possibly Andrew, and a whole lot of Slayers. Among the bad guys: Twilight, Warren, General Voll. Highlights of the rest of the season: A Xander/Dawn romance A rift between Buffy and Willow that's healed in the end (or in season 9) Xander makes an extremely bad choice Dawn gets to be a hero Faith reconciles with Buffy Riley turns out to be loyal to Buffy Demons and magic are banished at the Battle of Starbucks (whatever?) Evil Mad Willow future is averted Buffy and her remaining friends end up somewhere other than this world Does Buffy become Cookies? Probably not, but she may be Toast. |

I don't think Joss is going to kill another lesbian, but who knows? I'd much prefer she survived and lived happily ever after with Buffy.  |

I will be really pissed if Giles dies, but I'm ok if they decide to take Satsu and Amy down (even if I really like Satsu). I also want to see Warren die at the end of the season, it's time to move on. And I'm not sure of how I feel about Oz staying for season 9, I guess I will know when I read Retreat.
The two things that I want to happen before S8 ends, is for Willow to find out about her evil-future self and us to find out what really happened in her mystical walkabout and what the deal with Saga Vasuki really is.

I personally think that perhaps Giles will die, I hope not, but I hope that something happens that it goes back to being basic stories set with just the main group.

If I could choose one second-tier character to save, it would be Satsu. Even if she and Buffy don't end up together. I just like Satsu a lot.

For some reason, I don't think Satsu will die. She may fade into the background, but none of Buffy's former lovers have died.
Now, if the Xander/Dawn thing happens, I'd be worried Dawn will die.

I wanna see Spike and/or Angel appear. There is some issues to work out with them and Buffy. Other than that, I can't really think of anything else I wanna see

Mmm what I want before the end of s8.. *A satisfying resolution to the simmering tension between Buffy/Willow all season. I think it’s going to be at boiling point by the end of Retreat so I’m really interested to see where they take it. *Buffy/Faith reconciliation or at least the two of them working closely together. *Buffy/Xander developing or at least Xander/Dawn. I’d prefer the former but I’d actually be satisfied with Xander/Dawn. *Buffy being the one to betray herself.. “the closest the most unexpected” because it’d be an awesome twist and extremely powerful! Imagine if she bought into Twilight’s anti-slayer campaign and found a way to de-power all the slayers.. Maybe that’s what she did and was crying about in Anywhere But Here and that’s what that egg-shaped object is used for… Or I’d be equally satisfied with the “betrayal” being how Buffy’s compromised her morals and been corrupted by her position. *Buffy/Giles reconciliation of some kind. *Warren getting his arse absolutely kicked! Hopefully by Willow because of the funny… *One decent Xander/Willow scene PLEEEAAASSEEE!!! It’s the one thing that’s been lacking all season long. We’ve had fantastic Buffy/Xander and Buffy/Willow stuff but no decent Xander/Willow moments. When they grabbed onto each other in Wolves At The Gate I squeed! *Satisfactory conclusions to all the different plot points and mysteries. I don’t want season 8 to turn into another s7 where half the stuff that’s brought up “Buffy won’t choose you she’ll be against you” is neither explained nor amounts to anything. So that means finding out who “the prince” is.. what Buffy’s dreams in No Future For You meant.. “the queen is dead, long live the queen” who betrays Buffy. “the closest the most unexpected” and of course.. Twilight’s identity being revealed. * Buffy’s bank robbery and in general, her “compromise and corruption” having a satisfying pay off. Basically I want Buffy to feel the true weight of the repercussions and for her to grow and learn from this. This one I’m particularly confident of because they’ve already done a great job with it. CHARACTER DEATHS:I’d love for Warren to die but only if he has a satisfying story this season. It would feel pointless to bring him back if it were all for nothing and he just died again. Andrew to die at the hands of Warren. It’s horrible and cruel and I don’t hate Andrew but man would that be terrible and memorable. It’d be such a horrible end to that twisted relationship. If we have to kill off one of the new characters I guess Satsu… I really like her character and she’s been a great addition to the season but I wouldn’t hate it if she died. Simone.. God I HATE her. She’s such an evil bitch.. Have Twilight kill her, that would make me happy  PREDICTIONS:* Buffy will be the betrayer and possibly will end the slayer line this season… * Twilight will be Hank Summers… * Xander will definitely hook-up with either Buffy or Dawn. * Ethan isn’t dead… * Xander is the prince * Riley is working against Twilight.. |

Yup Allie said not to forget it as it does mean something overall and will come up soon. I think it pretty much has to be Xander. Buffy's been called "the queen" so many times now and Xander is easily the next in charge. If she's queen of the castle then he's the prince.... Unless Twilight is the Prince.. which I haven't completely ruled out. Though Xander could actually be Twilight (even if that doesn't make sense...) ;D |

or even someone like Andrew could be the prince. oh, or Riley! like, he's under Twilight's control, so she needs to rescue him. Because they dated, so he was like her prince...

Yeah I’ve considered Riley too. The only thing that makes me think it isn’t him is that so far he’s had a pretty minimal role this season. Whereas, Xander and Twilight have been part of the picture for a very long time. I think there’s a bigger chance it’d be one of those “leading men” then Riley who’s only popped up once so far. Obviously Riley’s going to start getting a bigger role as we move towards the end of the season but I think they’ll make someone the “prince” who’s had a big role all season.

However the enter "series" itself ends, how do you think they will better the First Evil. I mean, it was such a great final villain character to best Buffy. She was miserable. Felt useless. Felt like it didn't matter because she couldn't fight this thing.
To wrap the series up, what villain to you want to have, either from the past, or characteristics of a new villain?

I actually thought the First was one of the worst and lamest Big Bad's we ever got. "The Taunter" really wasn't all that effective. They could have made the First really great like it was in Amends and Conversations With Dead People but it turned out terrible. I already prefer Twilight so much more.

yeah, i prefer Twilight to The First, but i'm just itching to know who he is! do we have solid info that he's someone we know? cause we coul dbe getting all worked up about who he is, and then have him be a totally new character.
