personally, i think yes.
but (i might be wrong), in angel, there haven't been any funeral scenes, right? so i think JOss was just like: why start now and waste episodes on something we've never done?

Well, after You're Welcome, it was pretty much 'Fred, Fred, Fred'. Like she was the most important person to everyone (I'm not Fred-bashing, I like her too) and I felt kinda sad that Cordy wasn't referenced much. Once cuz of Fred, another cuz of the vision and one last time cuz Hamilton wanted to hurt Angel a bit. That's all. A funeral may not fit into season 5, but something would have been nice

A funeral may not fit into season 5, but something would have been nice i agree 100%. i think her funeral would've been crashed by wolfram and hart employees... and they would've ruined it. i really don't see them having a funeral that didn't end in Angel killing... someone.

I actually liked the way Cordy's death was handled in "You're Welcome". She wasn't a part of the AI Team quite a long time and I really liked her return for this episode, but excessively dealing with her death, would've seemed awkward.
Her reappearance was touching and that's it, pretty much.

Um.... Yes and no, They really F-ed around with Cordelia in Season 4 and they could of fixed it with bringing her back in season 5 for good, but I would have liked them to have thought/know that she had ascended and that they should have had some type of memorial service for that.

I think a funeral would've been awesome, but it would've cancelled out season 4... And Joss hates undoing what's already been done.

I think Fred's death a few episodes later prevented the time for a funeral for Cordelia. Although, I think at a time a little after Fred's death and after Illyria had stopped trying to rule the world, they should have found the time to mourn for the both of them at once, perhaps.
Or maybe in the last episode, Angel should have been shown spending his last day at Cordelia's grave.

Yeah, that would have been very nice, but it was stated before that it would have cut into everyone else's time for their final day. Maybe Not Fade Away should have gone for an hour or something, then they could have had Angel at Cordy's grave

I understand why they didn't have the funeral on screen, just left it off screen. It was a perfect ending, with Cordelia disappearing after the kiss.
Anything else would have been unnecessary to show, and it might have ruined the moment.
And you know, they didn't know at the time if she was dead or not, or if she went to another kind of higher plane(or did they?), so a funeral might have been bad.

And you know, they didn't know at the time if she was dead or not, or if she went to another kind of higher plane(or did they?), so a funeral might have been bad. Yes, they did. Angel received a phonecall from the hospital telling him that Cordy had died. Her physical body at least. Didn't think the funeral scene was necessary at this point. Cordy got a great send-off with her kiss and bye. We didn't get a Kendra funeral either... Or a Tara one. Or an Anya one... well, she was buried under the entire city, so I guess that kinda counts.

I don't think a funeral was necessary, as Wenxina pointed out, we never really saw them a whole lot. I do think she should have been referenced more, and had a much more profound effect on the group then her death ultimately did. Cordelia dies and life generally moves on as normal, whereas when Fred dies people are in clear mourning for many episodes after. I think Cordy deserved more in that sense at least. =/

I think that the memory-spell that removed Connor's existence from everyone's mind, also must have had a "Don't think about why Cordy went into a coma too much" effect, which means that the spell might have made everyone think very little of Cordelia, even after she "died". And you know, they didn't know at the time if she was dead or not, or if she went to another kind of higher plane(or did they?), so a funeral might have been bad. Yes, they did. Angel received a phonecall from the hospital telling him that Cordy had died. Her physical body at least. Exactly, her physical body. But they didn't know if she went into the Afterlife-place(heaven or wherever) or is she became a higher being. I think having a funeral would be unfitting if they'd known that she was still "alive" in a sense. Because then she would still be working for the higher good. *** You know, I wonder if she really is a higher being. Skip and Jasmine's followers could have tricked the powers that be to think that making Cordy a higher being would be good, or maybe she was a "fake" higher being. Maybe she is a higher being now. So many possibilities.

I always felt it was more that Jasmine (or whatever its real name is, that demon's head Angel brought back wasn't exactly speaking audibly on account of not having a body anymore) hitched a ride, in the way that the demon from Buffy 6x03 "After Life" did. The difference is that Cordy also lost her memories (probably an after-effect of becoming a higher power, which it was pretty much shown that she was in the first few episodes of Angel S4).
In any case, accepting After the Fall as canon, she's a Higher Power now. All the better for it, too, I guess.

Well I'm gonna just jump into this discussion now...
I am split on it. I really love the dramatic ending that she got, with the final kiss and phone call. I love the dramatic deaths, don't get me wrong. I just feel like she was swept under the rug, after being someone who was so integral to the group and someone who Angel loved dearly, in many ways. There wasn't much mention of her after this episode, if there was any. I understand that Fred took up the remainder of big drama with the turning into Illyria, but I feel like they played it short with regard to Cordy. If there could've been a service, funeral, or mention of it, I feel like that would've been appropriate and just. It would've been really gratifying to see Angel go and say his final goodbyes on his "final" day.

I agree, Ericka. It would have been nice to see Angel going to Cordy's graveside or something, as a way to include her in the final episode.
