It's been announced at Comic Con that Charisma Carpenter will be guest-starring in the season 2 premiere of "Legend of the Seeker," a syndicated fantasy series based (loosely) on Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth novels. Best of all, Charisma will be playing a Mord-Sith, which means her costume will look like this: Footage from the second season promised fans a tear in the veil to the underworld which would release skin-flaying scary creatures bent on wiping out all life at the behest of The Keeper of the Underworld. Plus, at least one hot, leather-clad, girl-on-girl kiss. Based on the reaction in the room, the producers know their audience -- that split second snippet got a resounding "Whoo!"So Rob Tapert, the man who gave us Xena and Gabrielle and six seasons of teasing, finally gives us a full-on leather-clad girl kiss. He must have been hanging out with Joss. I'll be keeping an eye on the official site to see if that trailer shows up...

Guess this means I have to catch up with Season 1. One of my friends has been after me for months to watch it, and now I actually have a reason.

OMGOMGOMGOMG
I'm a Legend of the Seeker/Sword of Truth Series fan and OMG Charisma would be AWESOME as a Mord-Sith weilding an Agiel for fun... teeheehee! Girl-on-girl kiss isn't on my list of favorite things, but it's not a deterrent factor, for sure.
So excited for season 2!!! For anyone who wants to catch up on Season 1 in the US, all episodes are available on Hulu as of today, and Season 2 should be premiering on SyFy (lol) this fall.

I started reading the books when "Wizard's First Rule" came out... gave up after "Naked Empire"... then started reading again after a couple of years and just recently finished the final book.
The stories are excellent, if you just sort of mentally fast-forward through all the 10-page Ayn Rand diatribes we start getting about midway through the series.
I watched all of season 1 and while I think it would have been much better if they'd followed the books more closely, the show had a certain appeal. (A large part of that appeal is named Bridget Regan....*drool*)
I'd think Berdine and Raina would be the amorous leather-clad couple, but it would be unusual for the show to follow the books that closely.
I'm very glad that Cara will be a regular character starting next year.
And I can't wait to see Charisma in her Mord-Sith gear.
Did you say SyFy is going to show season 2? It's not going to be on network syndication anymore?

I agree completely that the first season (which largely followed the first book Wizard's First Rule) would have been much better had it followed the mythos in the first book. Though it must be said, not a whole lot happened in the first book, when it comes to translating it to tv in a 22-episode format; they certainly had to make up a lot of material to fill in the time and develop characters. I was certainly disappointed that they made it follow a biblical prophecy storyline which wasn't in the book, obviously appeasing the Disney/ABC production team. Although I haven't read all the books (waiting for a family friend to loan me the second book) I am really looking forward to the tv series continuation, and continuing with the book series--the teaser for the Stone of Tears is killer!

I'm extremely glad to see Charisma Carpenter getting work these days. I have a feeling that Charisma's character, Trianna is going to die. I don't watch Legend of the Seeker but since Charisma Carpenter is in season two, I'll give it a try.

So when is season 2 of this show suppose to premiere?

Probably in the fall.. it's in syndication, so it doesn't get shown at the same time or on the same network in every market. (And in some markets it's not shown at all). Where I live it was running on the MyNetwork channel, I think in the 6 pm slot. I think Fox and ABC affiliates also show it in some markets. In the U.K. it's on the Sci-Fi Channel.

The outfit is like a weird mish-mash of the Daredevil suit Ben Affleck wore with Twilight's three belted doodad. I'll never understand the fascination with women in skintight leather...
