Although throughout the Angel series it isn't directly Addressed, in the Buffy season 3 episode: "Beauty and the Beast", Giles states (And this is also shown throughout both buffy and Angel's series in any instance when Demon dimensions are involved) that if Angel were to have survived, He'd have suffered hundreds of years of Torture as time passes differently in those dimensions. Are we expected to believe Angel actually endured Hundreds of years of torture never to mention it again. Or could giles have just been misinformed and Angel's stay in Acathla's dimension not that memorable? Any thoughts?

The "hundreds of years" in Acathla's dimension are never counted when talking about Angel's age. They just go by his time on Earth, and in Earth time, he was only gone a few months.

That's true but from Angel's Perspective I meant. Because HE would've been the one to experience it.

Well, accepting for the time being that different dimensions can have different perspectives of time, it would have been jarring for Angel to go from one to the other. Time would be much accelerated in Acathla's dimension versus Earth, so when he came back, he would be, as we see, confused (along with feral and untamed, given that it's a HELL dimension and he had no friends there with him).

Angel tells Connor that he spend 100 years in hell. Because he was insane in the end of his time in hell, he was probably unable to count the years in the end ... we don't even know if there were clear years/days in that hell, so there is no actual time known. But 100 years is used by characters and fans. Which would mean that Angel is around the 350 years old while he uses the age of 250 years. And if you want to be really nitpicky, you also count the 26 years he lived before he was sired.

Haha oh yea when he came back from his time under the water he said that he'd spent 100 years in a hell dimension and it gave him perspective. He was menacing connor and the humor was so out of place. Innappropriate Angel sarcasm..makes you miss the good old days lmao

You see I always wondered why his time in the hell dimension was never counted. Probably too complicated:)

I think Angel was playing a prank on them. He never went to a hell dimension. He hid out somewhere for a few months, and then came back acting like a wild animal for a few days so no one would ask questions. I mean, no one recovers from 100 years in hell that quickly!

Heh that would be too easy, they had to give more reasons to say how tortured his soul was and a hundred years in a hell dimension really adds to the pain the audience feels for him.

As funny as this is, I doubt the "master of brooding" that is Angel, would be able to come up with something that clever. I could sorta see Angelus doing this, but not Angel. I think Angel doesn't count them because he just wants to forget about it. Acknowledging the amount of time that he spent there, by adding it to his age, would just bring it all back and I doubt he wanted to do that. I think the only reason he told Connor, was as a way to relate to his son.

He doesn't want to add the 100 years spent in a hell dimension to his actual age, cuz that would make him feel really old

Yea but to vampires the older you are the more notoriety you get. But your reason seems the most plausible Night lord.

With the notoriety that Angel already has with Angelus, age wouldn't really matter with him in that aspect
