This "Retreat" arc is really cool but after reading about everyone must supress their magics get me worried. If we think back to season six Willow went cold turkey, no more magic she was barely getting by and continued through the season to get better at controlling her urges, but in only a few seconds because of tara's death she snapped. She became as Anya said" the most powerful witch in the western hemisphere" and even though Xandder stopped her from destroying everything there was no way to take strip the power she took in. She became part of the magics as we saw in chosen her pure essence is magic. Oz said something about those who dont go completely throguh with the tibetan power supressing thingy relapse with horrible consequenses and yes he was talking about that other group of werewolves but everyone except Oz knows that when willow tries to stop using magic something horrible happens. When this big battle between the slayers and twilight happens i think Willow's going to snap again and everyones gonna get hurt. In Fray it was mentioned that there was one final battle and after which all magic was gone. Does any one else think that Willow might go out with a bang in this upcoming battle???

I really love Willow but yes, I would like her to go out with a bang this season. (die) But I still very much want her to be a part of season 9 in some Evil/dark way.

I'd like to see Willow come through this OK, but I'd rather see her killed off than become what we see in Time of Your Life. I just can't stand the thought that she's fated to live in misery for 200 years only to be killed by her best friend.
If Buffy & Co. let that happen then they've failed as heroes, and I'm not sure I'd be at all satisfied by an adventure story where the heroes fail in the end.
I'm also not sure how interested I'd be in a season 9 with no Willow, or with an evil Willow. (Like Amy, only scarier).
I guess we'll have to see. I know Joss loves the Willow character, and it's hard for me to believe corruption, misery and death are the ending he has in mind for her.

No way Willow can die!!! I can see a short lived Dark Willow again, but I don't know why Joss would go back there. It's been done. I think that losing a member of the core scoobies kind of kills the story. I know its called Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but the show and comics are more about the scoobies than just her.

Yes, I belive losing a member of the core group of kills the story, just like in 'Angel'. (Cordy/Fred/Wes) But They all came back some how and I bet Willow will all her power will also.

That's right, she's a research queen herself. I fancied her a future watcher in the early seasons. I miss cute, mousy Willow

I do too. I'm not a fan of the overloading of magicks she's been using lately. Especially the flying thing. It looks a bit ridiculous. You'd think with all of her new found extra power she'd be teleporting instead.

If tv and comics have taught us anything its that the future is subjective and open to change. Prophecy and visions have been changed tons of times in the verse so I have a feeling that Buffy knowing willow goes bad in the future will help avert it from happening.

As far as im concerned in Jossverse (or at least Buffy/Angel) prophecies come true. But there is often some spin on it. To name a few: Buffy is destined to die in prophecy girl. She does. But is brought back. The father will kill the son (angel) turns out this prophecy was fabricated by Sajahn, (which i find wonderfully ironic because Angel does technically kill Connor in 'Home') The prophecy that Connor would Kill Sajahn. The reason the other prophecy was created. two seasons later, Connor does kill Sajahn. I think Willow will end up alive for hundreds of years, but there will be a twist to it such as Buffy needed her to do it. I still don't believe future willow was the 'same' Dark Willow we know from season 6.

Willow can't live without magic, end of story. We have seen her "try" her best in the past but she ended up failing. Don"t get me wrong, I love Will, but she just can't live without it in her life. Ever since I have heard that magic's fate was in the balance I knew that Willow would become the most important character aside from Buffy. I really think if magic goes, Willow goes. Or at least the Willow we all know and love. In my opinion Willow will do anything to save magic and I think that will lead to her downfall. If she doesn't die I am sure she will go dark again, which I could handle. Willow from Fray's timeline had some magic, not much, but some. So maybe Willow becomes magic once it is gone from this dimension. Who knows?!

You'd think with all of her new found extra power she'd be teleporting instead. Actually, it's been alluded to that Willow can actually teleport now, which shows how much she's advanced since her S6 power-surge. Back in S6, Anya remarks that as powerful as Willow was, she still couldn't teleport. In "Anywhere But Here", Buffy asked why they couldn't just teleport to their destination, and Willow's response is not that she can't, but that teleportation requires her to know exactly where she wants to go. Meaning that she is more than likely to be able to teleport herself now. Teleportation of others has been done before; i.e. Glory in S5, and Buffy in "NFFY".

Willow's been doing a bit of teleporting this season... she just teleported the sub from Scotland to Tibet, and in WatG she ported Giant Dawn from Scotland to Tokyo. In ABH when Buffy is flying with Willow, she asks "why can't you teleport us again" -- implying that they'd used teleportation to get to whatever country they were in -- and Willow said "because I'm not sure exactly where it is." So apparently she just has to know where something is, not necessarily have been there before. Otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to teleport to Oz's house, since she obviously hadn't been there in person.
